this is a bit off topic, kinda. but i had a crash course in digging with a shovel. 2 days ago i had to dig a grave for a much loved family member. she was an old dog that came to live with me after my dad died, she gaurded his body and wouldnt let the police of the forensic examiner come near his body, she was very protective of him, as he took extreme care of her. she had cancer when she stumbled upon his land (likely dumped by some asshole who didnt want the responsibility) but he took her in, and they found the cancer, and after alot of treatment got her into remiscion, and she live a long 8 years with dad, until his death. then she came to us. she was a super sweet old dog. and adapted vert well into our flock. she became a member of the family. however she started haveing frequent and severe siezures. eventually passing away litereally in my arms. one of the hardest things ive ever been thru. but she deserved a prper burial, and i wanted her to be close, as i didnt want critters to dige her up. so i put her under a tree not to far from the house. but digging thru the roots and vies related to the trees was a pain in the butt. i knew it would be tough, but my shove had zero edge on it. so it was a long process. but i eventually got her a proper grave dug. and she can rest in peace and close to home. so having GOOD quality tools is very important. and it also show that you need to use your gear. you never know how successful your gear is if you dont use it. you can see your failures and successes if you use your gear. so get out there and use your gear.
