2025-07-24 12:11:45 +0000 UTCMaomao's freckles are like Clark Kent's glasses no one seems to recognize her at first like Lihua's ladies in waiting. 7:15 yes Lishu was a concubine at 9 to the previous Emperor but a political act, no physical action at that time, when the old Emperor died Lishu was sent to a convent but the current Emperor brought her back as a concubine but despised his father's proclivities and doesn't touch Lishu. 9:00 And here starts another misunderstanding with Maomao and Jinshi. Food tasters are expendable so low ranks would be used these were all female because they are part of each concubines entourage.

That dish wasn't poisoned, but the next dish was, but because the whole meal was switched (I assume), Gyokuyou got Lishu's poisoned soup, too. Sorry if that's not what you didn't follow. Also, there is definitely some ick factor regarding the previous Emperor, and you should pay attention to the family relationships in this show. Heads up.
