regarding yalls discussion of joker 2, i’d love to hear your thoughts, because i really enjoyed it. The people who are hating, either don’t like musicals or didn’t know it was a musical. Or it’s DC fans, and they don’t like the direction that Todd Phillips took with the character.

I dont know how this works entirely, but if he can get Guneet Monga and her team to the necessary ground work to promote LL, we might have a chance .. Guneet has done it few times in the past ..

As someone who has seen both, All We imagine is not only the best Indian movie of the year(Manjummel boys and Undercurrent, and The Adamant girl are some other bests of the year), its the best movie ive seen this year in any language. Sorry Payal Kapadiya and the cast and crew of All we imagine, this is a country of clowns and has one of the worst infrastructure for movies and it will only let you down, but at the same time, hope you get to create your own world of movie magic. I would suggest her previous movie, A Night of Knowing Nothing(Indian government didnt allow it to release), its on criterion and also was in competition in cannes.

2024-10-10 21:05:12 +0000 UTCJanus film of criterion bought the rights. its going to have a proper US/UK/Europe release because they are such a huge distribution company. It will have a proper awards season campaign and when all is said and done, it will come out on Criterion most likely. Considering how huge Janus films is and how they have gotten international films to win oscar before(Drive my car, EO), this was at least a guaranteed nomination for oscars, if this was nominated by Indian Film Federation.
