Geetu Mohandas is not a first time director. She's done two films before. This is her first big and commercial film though.

She had earlier said that this will be a gangster Story from a female gaze. Geetu Mohandas(Actor/Director/Writer from Kerala, her husband is Rajeev Ravi who is one of the best cinematographers of India, as well as an amazing director himself) is an incredible filmmaker(Everyone go watch Moothan if you havn't). Yash collaborating with an acclaimed Independant filmmaker like her who comes from a totally different perspective is quite unexpected and very exciting.
