Hi trish, I wouldn't worry too much about the toilet issues and the stomach bloating. When you're body goes through a a new diet or if you're trying two or more diets at once it recognises that you're body isn't used with the instant change so it will go through the changes. But the toilet issues is just a result of you're body getting rid of all of the waste that you're body doesn't need so it's natural and will go on for a few days to a few weeks, just depending on how quick you're body heals or changes. If it doesn't get better after a max of a month i'd seek a doctor to ask for advice, other than that give the diet's a chance and you will see changes. It all depends as well of the person as some people see changes right away others may be longer. It's a process that takes time and patience.

I would just do the CICO method. Calories in vs. Calories out. Use a calorie calculator to find out how calories you need, just keep in mind to eat enough calories to be energized and feel healthy. If you then also exerice almost every day a week (like burning 800-2000 calories a day by hiking, swimming etc. Apple watch can keep track of calories burnt) and keep your calories intake goals, you will for sure lose weight. I wouldn't recommend less than 1200 cal, because you need some energy to be able to function normally and move. Some people also just fast tro days a week and eat normally on the other days...
