day 4 ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ป

today i woke up at 6am 0_0 had an early breakfast (didnโ€™t take photos) but it was this chain called Mister Donut and they actually had pupusas ๐Ÿซ“ + other ACTUAL breakfast meals rather than just a breakfast sandwich or donut lolol rlly cheap too! $20 for 4 ppl

then went to this one tourist spot where i had a rlly yummy latte ๐Ÿ˜‹ & i went zip lining for the first time!!!๐Ÿ˜ณ honestly i was a lil scared but ive been feeling brave lately and it was the best experience i ever had ๐Ÿ˜ญ i could see the entire beautiful view and it was over the forest/jungle *-* โœจ it was a bit scary ngl since it went pretty fast and they made us walk on rope (still hooked up ofc) LOL but i would do it again for sure :โ€™)

then we went to Ataco which is a small town/village known for their coffee โ˜•๏ธ which was semi-touristy. as you can see one of the cafes felt like a mini kitchen home ๐Ÿฅบ + the outdoor seating was so lovely & tranquil since they were also playing classical jazz๐ŸŒฟ

in the same town (didnโ€™t film this part) they had a lot of souvenir shops where you have to negotiate for the prices (my family did all the work LOL) & i got some stuff for my friends !! :โ€™)

then had some ice cream at a lil ice cream shop by the road (very popular tho, it was poppin) and went to the same restaurant i went to on day 1! but we went a bit earlier this time and i got to see the beautiful view โ˜€๏ธ

~ recap post ends here then im gunna get into some deep talk ~

since weโ€™re about half way through the trip, ive been re learning a lot of things being here. this trip has been definitely relaxing and fun, but also so many life lessons i am being re-taught. one being gratefulness.

i feel like many people fall into the โ€œAmerican trapโ€ and i feel like i have because i have lived here my whole life. so many people would kill to be in my shoes. even if itโ€™s not perfect, they would trade their life with mine in a heartbeat. and passing by the villages and seeing children working to help their families, seeing the rich areas versus the poor, but seeing that they are all human and so close by each other is definitely something i needed to see. in America, we can be so selfish. forgetting our lives are so sought after, we complain about little things, we use our resources for essentially useless things that only provide a dopamine boost and weโ€™re off to the โ€œnext big thingโ€. itโ€™s always โ€œthe next thingโ€ isnโ€™t it? itโ€™s always โ€œI canโ€™t wait for this and that. once i have this Iโ€™ll be happy. once i have this Iโ€™ll be completeโ€ our own minds are stopping us from being happy now which is essentially the trap.

im so tired of complaining about things because complaining never does anything. complaining only shows how ungrateful i am for focusing on the negative when there is so much good happening to me.

and itโ€™s sad that maybe some people will forever be in that trap, never being fulfilled and always chasing and chasing after an empty promise of happiness.

i at least want to try to embrace that already glowing feeling of happiness within me and thatโ€™s within all of us, actually.

xx
