Weekly progress log #3 - Merry Christmas!

Hey everyone,

I'm almost a week late with this progress log, but hopefully Sunny in a Christmas hat will earn me some forgiveness from you (even if I realized only now that I forgot to draw her ears)

Moving into 2022, I want to redouble my efforts with Elvensang's development - there is a lot I learn with the release of every episode, whether it concerns drawing or writing, and I need to put that growing experience to work not only by increasing the quality of the content but also the speed at which I produce it. I cannot make any firm promises in this regard (certainly not in terms of release date estimates...) because there's always something that bottlenecks the workflow - and mostly it's drawing faces. And there really is no solution to that aside from trying to improve by doing studies and analyzing the planes of the face. So, that's what I plan to do!

Aside from that, the next episode is looking to be rather hectic, particularly because of the many character storylines unfolding. I am yet to find a structure that I would be content with but as it is now, the first half of the next episode is set to focus on said character storylines, while the second half is very heavily centered around the main plot. Originally, I didn't want to include the second half of the episode in the release (because technically it starts with the events of what would have been Chapter 2 under the previous format), but I think the inclusion of the second half makes for a more complete experience in terms of the narrative, while the first half on its own would likely feel like another filler episode.

I am not yet set on anything regardless - there were other threads of conflict that I wanted to pursue, and using those to fill out the empty space in the first half of the episode that's focused on character storylines might be the way to go. Needless to say, it would also mean an earlier release as well...

Anyway, I will be visiting my family for the next 4 days, so I will have ample time to mull things over. And on that note, I would like to thank you all for being here - whether you are an active member in the community or someone who has quietly checked out Elvensang's development from the shadows every now and then, I appreciate you took the time to have a look at my project!

And with that being said, I will resume with the weekly progress logs in the first week of 2022.
