Deus Ex Machina - Poll Results, and New Poll
Added 2024-10-09 21:51:11 +0000 UTCIt has been ten days since the poll about what sort of universe the GodBound character would head to was made. It has landed solidly in Science Fiction.
This means, specifically, science fiction media. Not tabletop games like Battletech, or Warhammer, or Mutant Chronicles, or Ogre, or Car Wars, etc, despite there being novels for these settings.
So things like Star Trek, Dune, Honor Harrington, most things by David Webber (Bolo, Armageddon Reef, etc), works by Larry Niven (Ringworld, the Kzinti Wars, etc), Hammer's Slammers, Between Worlds by J.L. Williams (Fellow SB'er and published author of the QQ Lewds), and so on.
So, here's another poll. I can pick my own setting easily, but I am interested in what setting people would want to see a Godbound appear in.
Nightroads are the paths between universes, and always open up where tragedies and/or evil events occurred. So there's a way to leave such universes if the character doesn't want to stick around.
When you choose the setting, pick which era (if available) you want by commenting so I know. Commenting really helps.
I will also allow multiple voting's so don't feel limited to just one, but again, PLEASE COMMENT so I know what it is you want specifically.
Edit: Apparently I didn't set the multiple choice...so only one vote. sorry.

2024-10-11 01:02:55 +0000 UTCSG1 / SGA. I'd say more SGA than SG1, but the two shows did overlap at a time. So maybe around then. Tech from Atlantis would be nice to see. They've got some of the best tech and toys to play with along with one of the largest showing of different planets and people. Sure they're usually fairly similar, but the options to play around with are fairly vast.

2024-10-09 22:58:01 +0000 UTCSG1, though I'd say the best period should be right at the beginning if not a little before. Just after Ra dies, the Goa'uld are sure that Ra died and as such are increasing their military/revealing the ships they hid somewhere and are preparing for a war of expansion and domination. Stargate is specially interesting (to me) because there should be a TON of worlds capable of sustaining life or just for resource gathering that doesn't have any Stargate in them and as such where never reached because generally, Goa'uld and others only explore through the gates and don't send deep space probes around.

2024-10-09 21:59:31 +0000 UTCWell, if I had the choice then, I'd drop him in during the Earth Minbari War, specifically at the Battle of the Line. while that era has been done very well by other authors on SB (Drakensis, Lightning Count, etc) I'd have my own unique thing given Dominion, Influence, and just outright divine Bullshitery :P
