Perhaps the most commonplace of demonkind one is likely to encounter outside of the abyss itself, Imps are typically seen throughout mortal realms as servants and familiars, summoned forth by cunning diabolists to assist their masters as spies and conduits for fiendish power. Many mages profess the superiority of imps over all other forms of familiars simple because they have opposable thumbs. The few imps that are seen outside the service of a mortal mage have often schemed to overthrow the very masters that summoned them, whispering sweet seductions to slowly bend their benefactors towards inevitable corruption and damnation, and taking over once those foolish mortals are out of the picture. Even then, the limtied courage and stature of most imps ensures they rarely stay in charge for long, often ending up bargaining with greater demons for protection in an act of desparation, sending them back to hell where they're passed around like currency.
