An actress from a faraway land, Valencia Armas grew tired of the mundane acclaim and awards she continued to amass well into her acting career. She sought something that would give her pride, prestige, purpose. It was then that a mysterious manuscript appeared before her, tantalizing her with promises of power the likes of which clout alone could never achieve. And so, she set about the production, funding it herself after numerous accursed mishaps scared away her investors, then the actors, then even the crew. Eventually, she was left alone to carry out the story solo - but by this point she was already in its grips, so enthralled by the eldritch tale that she’d fallen to the depths of madness in her efforts to commit the heretical acts required to complete the production. As she finally invoked the last rites of the final act, she brought her city to singing ruin, swallowed screaming by the uncaring maw of a stillborn god, leaving her as its only survivor. Now, the tremendous monstrosity she’s become has fashioned herself as the Queen in Purple, named after the lead in her masterpiece, and seeks refuge in the Sunken Temple, where foul whispers tempt her with promises of a sordid sequel...
