Before the Chancel's fall, the Lady of Greed was responsible for managing the city's finances - a truly herculean task given the city's myriad economic complexities. Even with an entire ministry at her disposal, this was no easy task, but the current Lady of Greed nonetheless served dutifully for many years before the city's sudden collapse.
Reviled by her political rivals as a duplicitous snake, she was a model Lady of the Chancel and quickly rose through its ranks, making history as one of the youngest Ladies to rise to the rank of Whore Queen. Among her most lauded innovations was the rollout of compound interest for loans granted to entrpreneuers and prospective home-buyers in the Chancel - the deceptively predatory rates quickly overwhelming her prey and serving to stock the city's coffers with ruthless efficiency. The turmoil these policies caused was also quite efficient at satisfying her patron's desire for suffering, making her a regular choice for Belial's Brood Whore on several occasions - quite notable as the Lady of Greed was heretofor rarely chosen for such an honor.
The nubile serpent has since been twisted into a tremendous monster after her fall from grace, like the rest of the Chancel's leadership. Gone was the sultry serpent that seduced so many coins from so many pockets, and in her place a ravenous beast was born - hungering for riches and the tender flesh of those who hoard them in equal measure.
