This post brought to you by my sweet patrons! Thank you guys always~
The website is updated with the full-color versions of pages 17-26, so this post is the February charge for that.
Tex's debut in the comic was something I'd been tooling around with since the comic started, and I knew whatever happened was going to be fun (which has become my stand-in word for "extremely challenging.") I still have memories of initial brainstorm in 2011, wherein I paced around the office and listened to this track on loop.
It'd been a good stretch since a proper action scene, anyhow (falling down a huge hole doesn't count??), so even if I had to draw 900 chain links, I think it was worth it.
I'm always looking for ways to trim the fat on comic production, so going into chapter 12, I think I'll be dropping the shading on pages. Even though the flat colors take twice as long as the shading does, regrettably I can't go the b/w manga route on a webcomic based on a series *named for combat between color-coded teams.* ...as interesting and confusing as that would be.
