Aaaaaaaa determined cones are my goddamn favorite cones, help. Help help help. I adore this page so much because of Wash. He's serious and everyone else is...well, they have their moments, too, but he's just SO determined, coming in with his jaw set and shoulders square, not showing any weakness and trying to talk JUST right to avoid the details of...you know, likely death. It's really well done, and that last frame just HITS me so well. I really really adore the energy. Grif's posture throughout this page is great, haw, appreciate your loving care to the detail of how he's posed in every angle, with that paw up on the bar (the li'l toe curled around it in 6 is amazing, 10/10) Mmmm Simmons's gesticulating in 3 is a winner, too. I love when he steps out of his quieter shell to show some of that incredulity he barely keeps covered up most of the time. Those are some of my favorite moments for him. That final line from Grif is a mix of entertaining and :uhh: because -- YEAH he's the first one of the group to say it plain and straight. It's a death sentence. There's no way around that, so having it come from Grif packs a certain punch because he's normally the laid-back-whatever guy. But GOD the way you angle that final shot, so well composed. The dramatic slam of Sarge's hand, the way Donut and Simmons both looking to him for guidance and Wash still determined but ***lord*** you can see that face already cracking. Killer page, lady. Loving every step of this chapter, painful as each one seems to end up.
