The orange/purple palette that I picked for Q-Base is really pulling its weight. This is a good set for the cooler side of that range.
Haha, Church's gesticulating brings me life.
Ugh thank you, my speech bubbles are so often a mess - it's nice when it actually flows with the page.

hnnnnnnnnnnnnngh the LIGHTING is so good in this scene, and it is 100% the best part of having these full colors back. My god, you do an incredible job with adding so much to the mood. The shadows are cold and heavy where they need to be, and set this amazing, stiff, icy sensation for the whole moment. But then you've got warm lighting -- it doesn't make it any less tense, but it adds both the anger they trade off as well as that *honest plea* at the end. Wash is TRYING his best to be level-headed and even-toned and that cool-warm combo, god, hell yeah. It's gorgeous.
Love the first two frames, how it starts with Wash in Church's face, but Church is then almost non-confrontational despite his anger, turning away to gesticulate. It's so Church. And then awkward face Wash makes while looking away, *aaaa*. I love it.
Fifth panel is strong too, though -- their stare-down/shout off is powerful, BUT it's the perspective shot on Church's arms-wide pose that brings it all together, and the way his speech bubble cascades down along his arm to emphasize each bullet point on his list...MMMM. :chefkiss: that's that artistic shit right there.
But last panel definitely my favorite one. The contrast of the orange and blue, the close-up of Church's crossed arms and Wash trying his best to be civil...fuck yeah. *Fuck yeah* that's the ribbon on the whole page. Great job, Shu!!
