Hi everyone!
I’ve started work on v0.02 and wanted to share a bit about what’s coming. This update will be roughly the same size as v0.01, which had about ~20 scenes, so you can expect a similar scope.
Progress Update:
So far, I’ve completed one scene—fully written, scripted, and rendered—and I might finish the second one today. The remaining scenes for this update are already planned and sketched out. There’s a bit of a method to my madness when it comes to my workflow:
I start with a rough sketch of the scene's purpose—who’s present, the setting, and the main goals.
Then, I organize the flow: who does what and which key points to convey.
After that, I script it in Ren’Py, adding the shots but keeping dialogue barebones.
Next, I flesh out the dialogue.
Finally, I set up the scene and handle the 3D work. While doing this, I make adjustments based on what’s happening visually—posing, dialogue tweaks, etc. Once a scene is done, I move to the next.
All the 3D work happens on my PC, but writing and scripting often happen on the go—using whatever device is handy, whether it’s a tablet, phone, or laptop.
About Choices and Personalization:
This version will introduce the first relatively meaningful choices, and I want to share my thought process on how choices will shape the game. The game will have multiple endings based on the choices you make throughout.
There’s no need to “min-max” your decisions to get the ending you want or expect. You won’t need to roll back or replay scenes just because you think you’ve missed out. However, if you enjoy exploring alternative outcomes or endings, you can still do so without pressure. The goal is to create a natural, engaging experience where your choices feel meaningful without being overly restrictive.
There are three types of choices:
World Perception Choices: These affect how the world sees the MC.
Inner Circle Choices: These affect how the LIs (Love Interests) and supporting cast perceive the MC.
LI Decisive Action Choices: These are pivotal moments where you actively choose to pursue an LI.
Personality System:
Choices in categories 1 and 2 will shape your MC's personality, which will influence dialogue in certain contexts. For example, your MC might be a respectful competitor, a cheeky jokester, or a candid and transparent guy. He could also be loyal, a playboy, or a romantic. These combinations translate to 9 potential "personalities."
That said, the major beats of the story won’t change regardless of the MC's personality. The scenes and dialogue will reflect your choices, but I don’t aim to create branching paths on the scale of a Baldur’s Gate 3—I want to keep things manageable within my abilities. However, the endings I have in mind will be significantly different from each other, and I plan to develop them one at a time (e.g., finish ending 1, then move on to ending 2, and so on). My goal is to craft a story where you feel your choices matter and shape how the world responds to you.
About LI Choices:
Don’t worry about the third type of choice for now—I’ll dive deeper into those mechanics in the future!
Thank you for your patience and support. I’m excited to keep building this project and sharing updates with you. I hope I was clear on this update, but if you have any questions feel free to message me here.
Here's a couple of renders I did while practicing, researching. testing materials, poses, morphs and lightning. And no, Eve would NEVER do ballet, she'd rather high-five a freight train.
Hope you guys have a great weekend.
