Work has been a nightmare this week. A lot of things went sideways, my phone hasn’t stopped ringing, and what was supposed to be a chill start to the year has been anything but.

I started work on a new scene this week but couldn’t finish it. It’s mostly ready—just minor posing and rendering left. I spent some extra time optimizing the lighting to avoid hour-long renders. Rendering 4-5 shots of the same face with different expressions is already tedious, and waiting that long just makes it worse. I also ended up rewriting most of the script for this scene, and now I’m really happy with it.

The plan is to finish this one and the next by Sunday. I already know next week will be another grind, so I want to at least keep some development momentum. At the same time, I’m trying not to push myself too hard—I can see burnout on the horizon. Not for the VN, but for everything else. Right now, the only things keeping me sane are my family and the VN. Everything else just feels like a drag, even the gym, with how often my phone rings. But hey, a man got responsibilities.
On another note, I’ve been thinking about implementing the short hair transition for Eve. I’m considering a period where she looks like this:
Before letting it grow out to the length you see in the promos.
I kind of like it. Buzz cuts aren’t really my favorite, but I think this could be a great opportunity to develop her character through her actions.
That’s it for today—I have a meeting in 20 minutes. God give me strength.
