GM Connect Beta Test

Hello,

As ever, thank you for your support.

I've got the GM Connect tools for Pathbuilder 2e ready for some beta testing now. You can access it either via:

1) Web: https://pathbuilder2e.com/beta/app.html (note the beta in the web address), In the menu Launch in GM Mode, connect and share your GM ID and password with players.  They need to use the same link and use Connect to GM from the menu. You need to have a paid web version to use GM Mode, although free users of web and android can connect to it.

2) Android: You need to be in the beta programme for android, The latest beta update v184 has a Connect to GM option in the menu. Enter the GM ID and password to connect. I might add a GM Mode to pathbuilder 2e android at a later date.

3) Pathbuilder Encounters: https://pathbuilder2e.com/beta/encounters.html You can connect to players via Pathbuilder Encounters in the players tab.

Hopefully works ok, but do your character before using, as things can go wrong. My main worries are that the data usage will be sky high (it uses firebase so there is a cost attached), in which case I may need to take it down and revisit the data structures.

Let me know how it goes.

I'm adding Interstellar Species and a couple of missing APs to Starbuilder next.

When you click on the "Open in PB" button in Encounters it will open GM Mode for that player. Yes, the player sheet updates with conditions. If your player has gone back to using the non-beta link though it will not work correctly.

This is really nice. Is there any way to integrate the 'Launch in GM Mode' into the encounter builder so it's all in one place? Might make the flow of setting it up easier. Also when you update on the encounter with a linked player should that place sheet update with damage/conditions?

So you want a way to exit gm mode back into normal mode? Did you come to it via Encounters?

Tried it out on my own with a "player" in a chrome incognito tab, and it seems to work :) (On web) Once you're "connected" as a GM, I don't see a clear way to "disconnect" or turn off GM mode, though? Maybe I'm missing something obvious. (Also on web) Also once I open the "GM Mode" dialog I can't seem to click out of it? The "Finished" button is greyed out.
