:COMM: Preening a Whirlwind

I got a new traditional commission from Balint Kollar, one of my wonderful Patrons :) They commissioned me a piece that's based on a fanfiction again, dealing with a sleepover at Sweetie Belle's place when Rarity suddenly feels the desire to preen Scootaloo's roughed up feathers and wings since it's so uncouth! XD
This is another somehow motherly image of a character we know very well^^ But Rarity is enjoying this little experiment while the filly, on the other hand, does not seem to be that amused about it XD Oh well. She just has to sit through this and see how cleaned up her wings will be afterwards^^ A very cute idea that I enjoyed drawing in every single step :D I imagined it would look even more relaxing or calm if Rarity laid down to the filly and carefully preened her feathers while using her magic to hold up her wing. It gave me a warm feeling to draw it that way instead of making Rarity sit up straight beside her or something.
The colours have been interesting to make, as well. Orange and blue are strong contrast colours and I wanted to work with that in Scootaloo's fur, coming from the unicorn's magical spell. The rest was drawn in soft purple and blue colours for the environment to give some depth to the proportions and characters, make them look more realistic. I really like the outcome of it :D Think it works ;)
I want to thank Balint Kollar very much for the support and commission again :D It's always a pleasure and I enjoyed working with them and working on this piece ;)

Mane and tail are fantastic. Love the color, curls and texture. Her eye and face are perfect. Fetlocks are sexy as f... , khm, ever. Pose is perfect, she is relaxed and totally into this acvitity. Crossed forelegs were a perfect choice. Scoots: I kick myself for making her so uncomfortable, but her annoyance is so funny on this piece. Best annoyed Scootalo face ever. As always, wings and chest fluff are killer. Her stressed pose greatly contrast Rarity's enjoyment. Colors are awesome. You did great with the shading and the diffusion of light. So interesting that the warm-colored filly is the "cold" one, while the cooler-colored mare is the one with the motherly "warmth". The two flying feathers are so cute and are a cartoonish proof of the grave act Rarity commits agains the poor energetic filly. I can totally hear Rarity softly humming into the wing while Scoots emitting an annoyed grunt once in a while. I wonder what Sweetie and AB think when they see this scene unfolding in a front of them. Do they think it is funny? Are they schocked? Annoyed by Rarity's antics? Embarrased?
