Girl of the Alps

Time for a bit of Nostalgia, are you with me? :) Another piece for my little traditional series featuring my childhood video game/movie heros contains Heidi, the young girl that lives among the mountains with her grandfather and best friend, Peter :D The girl gets to learn the simple, beautiful life surrounded by nature and friendly animals like a big, calm St. Bernhard called Joseph and a bunch of goats, Peter has to take care of every day^^ This old anime/animated series was an essential part of my childhood due to the fact that I watched it very often when I was with my grandparents. We still ake a look at one or another episode from time to time. memories I won't forget^^
I wanted to draw a little tribute to this series for quite a while now. I mean, sure it's for children, but it inspired me over the years and I still love it. No need to call me childish about that if you ask me since it's more like a tradition, especially in winter when we watch the winter episodes that are a lot of fun :D
Heidi is a 5-year old girl that lost her parents and has to be raised by her grandfather sincer her Aunt Dete had to go to Frankfurt for her new job, where she doesn't need a young girl to distract her. Good for Heidi, who loves to be a young and free little whirlwind XD I wanted to capture that free spirit of hers and her joyful personality, especially with her beloved little goat Schnucki in this drawing, showing how energetic she is :D
Peter, the 12 years old boy takes good care of her and teaches her quite some interesting things about living in the alps. They make an awesome team.
