:COMM: Dull Nights, Numb Mornings

this is a long overdue and very challenging commission finished for PVT_Meat_Shield, who asked me to create something a little depressing with his Ponysona.
I can tell that this commission took me quite some time to create due to the problems I have with drawing backgrounds. While I did put many countless hours into making the background look interesting with detailed objects on the table and following an overall Cyberpunk 2077 inspired example of an apartment, it sadly doesn't stand out as one of my best backgrounds, no matter how hard I tried. It aches my heart that I just seem to disappoint myself over and over again with backgrounds. Nevertheless, I am proud I did take so much time and effort to put into this image. I still wanted to show the commissioner that I do my best, even if it can't compete with the others out there.
I enjoyed drawing the character a lot actually. Even though he looks tired, depressed and weak, trying to bring this across was fun and I think I managed^^ What do you think? What might have happened to him on the previous night? Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments.
I want to thank Meat Shield for supporting me with this commission, for putting trust and time into me. It truly means a lot and I hope this drawing turned out somewhat good enough for it.
