Stories From Pearl Harbor

If you want to get more of an idea of just how intensely chaotic the day itself was, here are some other videos I'd recommend watching.
Here's an original news reel, uploaded to YouTube. This is a copy of some original footage shot by someone caught up in the attack. And here you'll find a compilation of US and Japanese military footage from the day. Pearl Harbor, it turns out, is a surprisingly well-documented historical event!

Some of the stories really are incredible. It's a historical event that's taught in schools, but it's mostly just facts and figures, and how it figured into the wider war. Personal accounts like this, I always think, really bring it to life and give some clue as to what it actually felt like at the time.
