October Donation!
Added 2021-10-21 18:15:35 +0000 UTCWe're nearing the end of my first month of Patreon, so it's time to hold up my end of the deal by donating to an environmental organization.
This month I donated $50 to the NRDC (the natural resources defense council).
Thanks to everyone's help here and on YouTube, I feel like I can finally do this sustainably. I plan on doing this every month if I can, and the more money I make here, the more I'll be able to put towards causes like this. I'm not usually one to make a big deal out of supporting causes like this, but I think one of the biggest things we can do as individuals is to talk to each other about things we care about, hopefully creating trends and movements. It turns an individual action into a communal one, which is much more impactful, even if it is less modest, haha.
If you don't support me on Patreon, I don't want you to think that you need to join to make a difference. There are plenty of ways to help, whether you're donating on your own or even if you're just talking to people about the things you care about.
Between making videos and working my normal pizza making job, I don't have a whole lot of time to look into organizations, but I do have a list of reputable causes going, and the NRDC was at the top of the list. It seems like they spend a lot of their money taking people to court and pushing to pass new laws to defend the environment.
