I personally dont put much stock into it after I to put it in context though, this season and playoffs were filled with way more injuries than usual. Both of these teams were pretty good but Im not sure either of them wouldve made it as far as they did if not for the injury bug going around the league.

I think parity hasn't worked out for the NBA because it focuses it's branding on individual stars rather than teams. Pretty much the entire modern era starting from magic and Larry, promotes these guys to carry the league. The NFL by comparison has seemed to thrive on parity because it pushes teams. So you have a lot more small market engagement compared to the NBA, where stars tend to hover around a few desirable places if they can help it. I do think the NBA is great though when there's like 4-6 teams with a real shot at the chip. These playoffs would've been great had it not been for the crazy number of injuries.
