@John Davis, I think that stating there are 10 to 12 issues more important than police brutality is pretty self serving and not necessarily true for everyone. For the women who have been tased by officers while pregnant, I’d say it’s a little higher on their list of issues. Also, if I’m The family of Botham Jean, I’d say it’s a little higher on my list as well. You don’t really have any data to support your “most ppl who get their asses whooped by cops deserved it” claim. There’s tons of cases of ppl who didn’t deserve it and cops abusing their power and when they can run rampant in our communities, it’s kinda hard for us to build anything up. How can I build and be their for my family if a renegade cop can blow me away for questioning why they want to search my car at a traffic stop? Some of these issues are more or an additive rather than “black on black violence is more important or “fathers leaving the home”. If you’re a black man just minding his business and doing everything right, cops are probably a bigger risk to you. Like I said above, I’ve followed police corruption for a while now and I think it’s a lot bigger than most ppl realize. Most of the corruption gets swept under the rug. Only the high profile or racially charged cases are making the news mostly because someone was fortunate enough to film it.

Brandon Tatum does an excellent job of highlighting this. Police should be held accountable, but I don't want social workers being called to domestic disputes. Many people are out of their mind, and I would rather have armed officers handling most disputes.

I hear you, but I looked into this and it’s not an isolated incident. There are other cases of pregnant women getting tased by police and the majority of them are black and some are Hispanic. Also the women are not on drugs and are usually the victims of some cop overreaching his authority and then reacting violently when challenged by a lawful black citizen. These are not violent ppl being targeted. Also, this is just a subset of modern police corruption. I’ve been looking into it for a while and I think ppl overvalue what the cops really do and overlook a lot of the damage they cause. I would be in favor of defunding police or at least abolishing police activity that doesn’t involve pursuing violent crime.
