some piano playing
Added 2023-09-08 20:59:21 +0000 UTCI used to be so frustrated with myself when I was younger that I couldn't play piano infront of people ( camera too same thing ) , I had to be on my own in an empty house and a good time that the neighbours weren't back home, but I ended up realising that playing for myself was just enough, I made it to grade 6 but just realised I was regurgitating pure muscle memory as opposed to actually feeling the pieces. I haven't played In over a year. first video is my second time trying, and the final video is the first time I touched the piano since that year break ( as you can tell still both equally frustrated - I just hate forgetting things) lol the fact im even uploading this here with all those mistakes when I know I can do better and have better technique, is crazy cause I would've NEVER showed that, but iit doesn't scare me as much as before I. just felt so grateful to feel a piano again. I was never techicnially VERY good at it, but I really really feel it, especially the Ludovico pieces. I would sell my kidney to go see his old live concerts, those albums make me feel soo much. but I treated myself yesterday and bought a ticket for his upcoming concert, its a new album, doesn't have as much nostalgic value to me than the others, but I still know im going to love it and im soooooooo excited I could cry.

I would love to know the names of the pieces you're playing here- and please don't feel "cringe" (horrible word and concept of our era 🙃) you should be so proud of your skill, I could listen to this all day!! Also, is that a new tattoo I see or am I just unobservant? Looks like someone carrying someone else of equal size, which has always been a very striking and emotive image to me. I think everyone has the inner strength deep inside of them to be able to carry the weight of someone in need, metaphorically I guess, even if just for a mile.
2023-09-09 20:49:44 +0000 UTCThis was so beautiful, and ive always wished I could play like this. Felt very special to be able to witness as well. My favorite parts are when you're "la la la..." trying to find the note; immediately brought me back to watching my father sitting at the piano playing something beautiful when I was young, stuttering around the same part a few times before he got it right. It's the most beautiful and nostalgic instrument for me.

2023-09-09 18:46:27 +0000 UTCIf you have a chance or some free time check out on YT Yatao music- milky way, i get my inspiration from him, that certain melody just takes me away in emotions that i have trouble feeling sometimes, just close my eyes and drift you know 🖤

2023-09-09 18:38:24 +0000 UTCAhhh yesss the handpan is so wonderful if you do start, the “Kurd” pans are the easiest when starting, and getting lost in the energy they give out when playing is such a experience, im not the best yet but still enough to fill that feeling when playing and thats all that matters, great community around the instrument too!

2023-09-09 01:08:25 +0000 UTCI love watching you play and just getting lost in the music, swaying with the rhythm. You're clearly very passionate about it! You accidentally referred to the musical notes as words but it's kind of accurate, with music being a language of its own that can express emotions even when you can't find the words or to people who don't even speak the same language as you. It was very beautiful, and the little mistakes just make it more raw and real. Besides, I think you sounded amazing <3 especially if you haven't played in so long! Also, I remember you posting on instagram with a drum kit before, was that yours as well? How many instruments do you know how to play? Just playing 1 instrument is very impressive to me :)

2023-09-08 21:48:58 +0000 UTCThank you for sharing - the music and your thoughts. You make it seem like getting back in touch with an old friend and embracing after a long absence. I'm glad you could feel the piano again and not get caught up in imperfections. What does it matter to not be perfect? ... And it's nice to see the piano used for something other than a footrest during dinnertime.☺
