Commission I did for the Foxglove Comics Secret Santa this year

Hello, folks! I hope your holidays were good, and that your new year is starting even better! Despite a month of illness, my holidays were lovely, and this year promises to be an interesting one for me.

Health

As always, we start with an update on health! December, uh, sucked. In the week leading up to my birthday, I got hit with fatigue, then had my major bad pain day one day before my birthday, at the same time my husband caught the stomach flu. Which we thought was food poisoning ... until I caught it a few days later. Then I was super sick for a week. I managed to recover just enough in time for Christmas that I could see my family, though I still had to leave a bit early. After that, it's been one holiday meetup after the next, so my battery is low.

But I'm doing better now, aside from fatigue! And some extremely lovely readers contributed to some birthday gifts for me through Throne, which helped make a crummy time brighter. Thank you all so much! ;u;

Now, future health news:

I am having a major outpatient surgery at the end of January, which will keep me out of work for a month. That means for the entirety of February, while I recover, there will probably not be any pages added to the $10 buffer. If you are in the $10 tier and want to drop down before then, that is perfectly reasonable! I'm going to try to get as many pages done before the surgery as I am able.

The weekly $2 page will still continue to go live during that time.

I have huge hopes for this surgery improving things for me. Wish me luck!

Patreon

Last year in February, we simplified the Patreon down, and it has been AMAZING for me. I've managed to stay caught up with pages and, in fact, built a pretty beefy buffer! I'm really happy with that! My stress levels are down, and I've been spending Fridays drawing for myself and exploring art studies. It has been wonderful!

Sometime early this year I would like to simplify it even further. I haven't figured out how yet, as I have other things on my plate right now. My goal would be to reduce it to, say, 4 tiers. We'll see, though.

Either way, thank you guys for all your support this year. I hope you have enjoyed what has come out of it!

The Year Ahead

I am continuing to focus on combating my chronic illnesses and finding a healthy balance. Last year, I was able to pull way back on my obligations, start a sketchbook for the first time in a decade, and get the buffer packed full of comic pages.

This year, I would like to continue those trends, and also work on doing more crafty hobbies that keep me off the computer screen. At the same time, I'm also getting myself to play video games, as it helps occupy my brain when it wants to work-work-work!

I'm still pretty tired, and thinking of more things to say is hard right now, so I'm going to leave it here. Happy New Year!!

I'm having hand surgery on the 17th, so I can sympathize. You're still young, so you'll be fine. Love and health to you for the new year.

Take your time and don't burn out! I would certainly be happy with fewer pages and you being healthy and happy! I know I'll be waiting, my patreon supports are few and far between!

Always thankful for any pages you get done. Good luck with the procedure. Hope it helps as much and more than you expect. Sending all the good thoughts and vibes your way. +1 flu blows. Glad y'all are better. And your welcome. Enjoy the tiny tree. That is so much nostalgia crack for me too.
