Minor Patreon Squish Incoming!

Hello all! As mentioned in my 2024 Wrap-up post, I'm shrinking my Patreon further in 2025. Having fewer responsibilities outside of the comic page has done wonders for my mental and physical health -- and the health of the comic itself! So I'm following that trend to squish the Patreon down a little further.

To start, here's what we were keeping in mind as we were making our plans:

• Reduce the number of tiers down to 3 regular tiers and 1 high donor tier. This is to make things less complicated on the backend, and also to reduce choice paralysis for new patrons.

• Reduce the promised offerings to the bare minimum. Although we still plan to make side content like Q&As and Tales from Treehollow side stories and release them to $10+ patrons, we want to do them on our schedule, and not disappoint patrons who are eagerly awaiting things we won't get to for months or years.

• Remove commission-related offerings. Although I would love to continue to give those offerings, like the side-content, I don't want patrons to sign up excitedly to use them only to find out I open commissions very rarely! I will consider re-adding them in the future, if I start being able to actually offer them more regularly.

• Remove free downloads. Between the prohibitive technical difficulties of getting unique coupon codes to each patron for a free Tales from Treehollow and GPRE preventing us from distributing PDFs to European and Northern Ireland folks, we have opted to remove all free downloads. It's much easier for us in the long run, even if it's a bummer we can't offer it.

• Reduce the price of the top tiers. Since we're dropping a lot of the extra cruft from the tiers, it makes sense to reduce the prices of the higher tiers in accordance.

• Raise the price of the lowest tier. While rearranging all of the offerings, we've packed more value into the lowest tier. As such, we're raising the price. But don't panic! Read ahead to hear more about how we're grandfathering y'all in at the current price.

With all of that said, here are the updated tiers:

$5 - Cuppa Tea

• Read Ahead! Read new Tamberlane pages 1 week early!

• Join the Community! Gain access to the Patreon-only Tamberlane channel in the Foxglove Comics Discord!

• Your Name in Print! Get thanked in all books and PDFs published while you're pledging!

• Thank you! After 12 consecutive months of pledging, your name will be added to the Thank You section of Tamberlane's website! 

• Stream Ticket! Access exclusive livestreams on the Foxglove Comics Discord! 

$10 - Apricot Croissant

All previous rewards, plus…

• Be All-Seeing! Read every page of Tamberlane as it's completed, no matter how far ahead it is!

• Join the Cool Club! Gain access to the all-seeing theory crafting channel in the Foxglove Comics Discord!

• Inside Scoop! Access behind-the-scenes content. Released periodically.

$20 - Chanterelle Scramble

All previous rewards, plus…

• Sponsored by… Your name will show up as a sponsor on all comic pages for as long as you're pledging!

• The Most Special! Extra special thank you in published books, PDFs, and on the Thank You section of Tamberlane's website.

$100 - Full Fry Up

All previous rewards, plus…

• Beautiful Benefactor! Suggest characters to be featured in future art studies! Released as available.

• Taint Your Friends! Grant 1 user a 1-month trial access to all Tamberlane Patreon-exclusive channels on the Foxglove Comics Discord! You can do this every month!

As you can see, it's pretty much the same! It's just stripped down to its most core offerings and squashed into fewer tiers.

Now, I know that the jump in price for the lowest is not ideal -- I struggled a lot with the decision, but ultimately, the rewards are worth the money and I've had folks telling me to raise my prices on the lowest tier for years.

All that said, if you're already on the $2 tier, rest assured that you will be able to stay at that price and your current rewards for as long as you're pledged to the tier. 

Some things to note for patrons on the legacy $2 tier:

• The tier will be unpublished. That means if you unpledge from the tier, you will not be able to get that price again.

• The rewards for the $2 tier remain unchanged. You will get the page a week early, access to the patreon channel on the Foxglove Discord, and a thank you on the site after 12 consecutive months of pledging.

• Unless complications arise, this grandfathering will remain in place indefinitely. There is no time limit for when you will stop receiving rewards unless you pledge to a published tier.

When will this go live?

I'm not sure. We've been working on getting everything together, but between preparing for my surgery on January 24th, a really bad flare-up, recovering from illness, and trying to pad my buffer, we haven't been able to get as much headway into this as I'd like. But that also means that you have time to get into the $2 tier before it goes away, if that's your jam!

I'll be sure to give you guys some heads up when I know more. As per usual, Ari and I will probably do our Patreon update/revamp on stream. 

One last reminder that I will be spending February recovering from surgery, and there will be no extra buffer pages released to the $10 tier next month. One-week-early pages will continue to post as usual.
