Beta Test Opportunity: Community Gifting!
Added 2025-05-21 23:53:35 +0000 UTCAs I mentioned recently, we've joined the Patreon Creator Ambassador Program, which means we get to beta test new features! Yay!!
The first new feature I have access to that you guys can play with if you so desire is Community Gifting. While we already had access to being able to gift a membership to the Tamberlane Patreon to another person, Community Gifting allows you to essentially donate a membership and I get to choose who to give it to.

If you do decide to test this feature, do let me know any feedback you'd like me to pass on to the product team.

That's a very valid point! It's certainly one the creator will need to be aware of. Hm!

2025-05-22 03:38:22 +0000 UTCLooking at it, the thing that jumps right out at me as a potential concern is that these expire after 90 days. If they aren't used in that period, there's no refund or anything; it just goes away. I guess I'd want to make sure there's a demand first, that the person running the Patreon has people in mind for these, or there's an event coming up in the next few months where these would be given out. Also, if there's a lot of donations -- I know, what an awful problem to have -- I can see that as potentially being a headache, trying to make sure those donated memberships are given out to SOMEONE and redeemed within three months (which SOUNDS like a long time, but . . .).
