96 Bulls vs 17 Warriors

Loved this video so much, Watched it 5 times to absorb everything. One interesting thing you pointed is that you said over the series Draymond would adjust to Rodman, but wouldn't Rodman adjust to Draymond's antics too. And I don't think Rodman would be seriously affected by the type of stuff Draymond unleashed because he's used to it and is mentally strong and borderline crazy. And I would actually put Rodman on KD because he would be KD's worse nightmare. Iggy did great with a lot of help in 2016, but Rodman on KD would make KD look even worse. Another interesting matchup would be if Jordan got Draymond on a switch lmao. How would that play out? MJ seems like the guy to hunt strong defenders as opposed to attacking switches but that could be my bias!

Great video alch!! One thing that may be unfair but should be mentioned, is the kerr factor. In this reality kerr exists twice and one kerr is much more experienced and knows the ins and outs of the other team. Lol that does seem unfair now that I typed it. Makes sense you didn't mention it

How much trouble do you think the Warriors would have in the paint and post? Just like the bulls were not used to chasing in space, the dubs are not use to post play. I think one of those prime Laker shaq teams might have been a tougher match up stylistically.

I'm actually surprised that you hadn't done this video sooner. It was the best comparison I've seen by far but I'm biased towards u Alch. In any case, no disagreements here except maybe Dray being stronger than Rodman, Rodman was post D on Shak and Malone in those years, pretty even. I agree with Seb that the Bulls out rebound us pretty much everywhere but there is no way the Bulls can shoot with the Warriors using the 2017 3 pt line. If u use the 96 line, I can't imagine Steph, Klay, and KD not draining 3's like free throws.

You should put this on YouTube, this is a an interesting topic for many people ( not just Warrior fans. Also in Taiwan where I live, many NBA fans continue to debate on this). Your take is also very balance, the 96 Bull is a great team, but 17 Warrior is just a cheat code. I think 16 Warrior would be a more hard fight one.

Ohhhh this is a spicy take! I think it's goes 7 with the warriors. MJ would've forced a game 7 alch! Klay would've been 27+ a game easy. Curry would've been doing enough to distract and open up his teammates. I think I wouldve been won in 4 quarter game 7.

One thing about the warrior is no matter how dominant they were or how much experience they got from these deep runs, I never got the “veteran” feeling from the big 4. At times they seemed nervous in a game 7 even though they’ve been playing game 7s every year. They constantly fumble the ball, steph gets depressed and hang his head quickly in an off night... But watching tapes of Bulls game they always give the opposite vibe

Those were actually my two favorite teams that I watched constantly. I grew up on the Jordan bulls and have lived in the Bay Area my whole life and loved the Curry Warriors. To me, it's this simple. As mentioned, the pace is just so much faster now so the conditioning for the Warriors would be a huge advantage. AA mentioned that would take a toll on Jordan, but really, you have all their wings running around like they're not used to Secondly, there are a few screen shots of the games from the 90s... The Bulls rarely got over 100 points, mostly holding their opponents down. I don't think there's any way you can reliably expect to hold the Warriors under 90 points 4 games out of 7 and that's assuming the Bulls scored 90+ in those games as well. To me, it's fair to say the Bulls wouldn't panic and give away games, but the Warriors wouldn't be intimated either. They know they could destroy a 15 point deficit in 3 minutes at any time. Could the Bulls similarly come back? Unlikely.

good take... so hard because you plop KD now into a 96 game, there is no doubt he gets bullied off his pivot. But If he came up at that time he probably has a bunch jump hooks and post moves. Jordan now, no doubt would have a way more advanced handle. Then there is Klay...who would just be Klay haha

that's a good point..but he is so competitive I bet he would a have developed more of a set shot form 3. Thinking about Draymond, I wonder if he would have been a guard! He may never have been played as a forward..either that or he would a been built like Anthony Mason and just bulldozing fools

Hand checking from that era is constantly overrated, I mean just watch average MJ game from the 90s, the dude couldn't be touched... which is why Bird and Magic said you couldn't touch MJ. Steph would average 40 with MJ calls. The Bulls had a very modern defense with switchable defenders but that's still 3 guys, vs 4 switchable on the Warriors. That's 2 guys you can bully off of PnR. Triangle offense only works when teams are forced to play man to man defense. They were only allowed to make hard doubles, rather than the flexibility of soft doubles in today's NBA. Even MJ said he wouldn't have been as successful with zone defense legal. If we play by today's rules, Warriors win no question. Pippen once asked "how do you defend an off the dribble 3 from 30 feet from Curry?". The Bulls would be perplexed defending that shit, the fact that you can't give a guy any space the moment he crosses half court. You get close and try to hand check him, that just gives Curry opportunity to drive. Impeding a player's movement with hand checking was still illegal and frequently called as early as the 80s. If we play by 90s rules, it's a lot closer but KD is literally a 1 vs 1 monster. Guys like Draymond and Looney would force defenders to stay with them, which gives even more spacing to Curry and KD. The difference in offensive depth is too great.

This was dope. I wonder what would happen if we flipped it and decided the game would be played in 2017. Jordan would probably shoot 15 free throws a game and be forced to shoot way more threes. Jordan was a good 3 point shooter but I think he was in a similar situation to Demar Derozan, his form is built for mid range pulls and fades, I'm not sure how well it would translate to shooting 10 3's a game.

I think KD or Klay eats Rodman alive on the perimeter fighting thru screens and pulling up in transition . Plus it pulls him off the glass. But I’m sure they would a tried it at some point. Maybe he could a bullied KD.

Kinda feels biased to put rodman on draymond. U say the bulls couldn't stop three scoring threats, that's because u put rodman on a non scorer. U can't tell me putting kukoc on draymond is gonna kill the bulls. That gives u three world beating defenders to stop the three scoring threats.
