Obviously I'm biased but honestly fuck Gordon Hayward and not being able to get anything for him. I'm so glad he's gone, he's overpaid, and he just doesn't fit in our lineup anymore. Also, can't believe it took me this long but I just recently found out that he's a Trump supporter and imagine how Jaylen Brown feels about that. Not sure if MJ watched Hayward recently, but there's something really wrong there. The touch seems to be gone. Clanging short stuff. As you said, mental .. but also clearly very very injury prone. He's basically Kurt Thomas from the 90s Knicks now, 15 and 8. Probably worth 10-12 .. Danilo contract also just awful. Always struck me as one of those awkward bubble butts that's bound to have lower back and knee issues

To be fair, defensive net rating ranked Wes (2nd), Gasol (3rd), and Caruso (10th) for 15 min minimum required players. I have to admit I am a bit scared of what they are capable of. If either LeBron or AD gets injured though they are screwed.

I cut it off at the Lotto and contenders to keep a reasonable length. I like Cole as a prospect my concern is both he and Fultz need the ball. I think its going to eventually be and either or..but good value at 15

I've been making the exact same case about the Lakers. They literally let go their 5 best defenders after AD. Rondo, AB, Green, Howard and McGee When defense was the reason they won the championship. For 2 defensive liabilities (and potential locker room issues with Harrell) I just don't get it, I'm way more confident about beating them now.

Great content as usual! I like the Portland off-season moves. They are bigger and deeper... pause. No but the defense is gonna be way better this year and they can start getting more boards consistently. I could see them being a 4 seed and be competitive with LA if Dame keeps doing his thing

Loving the Lakers hate Alh. OG dubs fan shit! Agree 100% that the fakers and Clips got worse with off-season moves. Fakers eroded their strengths (size) and I'm not sure about Schroeder as a replacement for Playoff Rondo come crunch time. Ibaka is a good swap for Montrez, but I think what they really needed was a playmaker so that Kawhi didn't' end up running the offense all the time. Denver also got worse. Damn if it wasn't for Klay going down we'd be in the driver's seat to get back to the finals now :((

People say I am crazy for saying this but, what if Westbrook tried to model his game more like Marcus Smart? More defense and playmaking and a better jumpshot and floaters? That would really help my curse rockets. Just a thought experiment, I know its unlikely, but a better proposition than asking Harden to just score 20 and forcing him to play D like Kawhi

Alc, if you were morey, would you trade Ben Simmons for harden? I saw a lot of sixers fan on twitter saying they rather compete with Ben and Joel for 8 years than compete with Harden for 1-2 years. But I feel like some of these fans don't understand that Joel is 26 and likely is going to have a short prime given his injury history. Moreover, I don't believe in Ben ever developing a jumpshot, so I feel like its best they go all in with a harden/embiid duo.

This is the reason why people that want to listen to actual basketball content can't stand espn. It's great to hear someone not bow to the lakers immediately and understand what won them a chip in the first place. I'm interested to see how it works, but a bench of trez, caruso, kuz, wes matthews, and markieff doesn't really amaze me.

Dayuuum. As for the Gasol move, the part of me that loves Gasol thinks that he's so intelligent, his bball IQ will continue to find/make open or difficult reads to teammates which is a skill very rare amongst all players! Yet, the salty rockets fan side of me wishes a very very steep decline on him as well as decline to hit Lebron.

Gasol is a very smart defender but the dude has looked much slower since the 2019 finals. Iono about Schroder, he was very inefficient before OKC, we'll have to see how he fits with Lakers.

I think Schroder alone makes Lakers OP in a way. Also I’m not as willing to believe Gasol is completely washed, him destroying us during that finals series still leaves bad taste in my mouth, and that was just 2 years ago

Marc Gasol to the Lakers just feels so similar to Boogie and the Warriors. Everyone was so quick to say that Boogie made the Warriors OP, when really, he was a net average at best. The Warriors spent so much time and energy keeping him involved and getting him his touches, when his overall impact was mediocre. Replace Boogie with any vet min center and I think the Warriors win the same number of games. I predict the Lakers will see the same with Gasol. Gasol looked slow in 2019 against the Warriors and even slower in the bubble. He's a stretch big that is afraid to shoot and can't play defense. Lakers are still the team to beat, but they are beatable for sure
