i think is just one of those little habits we use to find our shooting position. When i play i always stomp my right foot really hard before pulling up, which is not a good habit lol but it gives me balance and rhythm

hey yall can someone educate me on the little dragstep wiggins does in his pullup at 5:44? Watching made me realize I did that a lot myself, but never put any thought into it.
is there any benefit to it? or is it just a quirk we happen to share..

That's exactly what I've been saying! Its not like Nico would be shooting any worse than Oubre, so there wouldnt be any harm in letting him off the leash a little bit. I know the dude can pass and can be a pretty scrappy defender. I wanna see more of the redhead!
And yeah Steph isn't finishing well at the rim either, but at the very least he is making layups every now and then. Idk whats up with the whole team and being terrible from close and from far. Sigh. Oh well!

Thoughts relating to Steph
1. It’s been forever since he’s played without klay. Given that before last season a missed game from klay was very rare. Still has to get used to losing the best spacer in the NBA.
2. Could Steph’s unsuccessful interior game be a result of absolute fear of injury. With the curry brand and a klay- less dubs, the man has millions upon millions of dollars on his shoulders. Maybe this pressure is making it hard to finish because he’s so scared of coming down wrong.
Just thoughts

Steve should've adapted back in 2016, another chance in 2019, third chance this year. At some point we have to admit the guy is an ego maniac and is too stubborn to call simple plays that are guaranteed to work. In his mind, his genius over-complicated system > the players. Lets face it as well Steve was a major reason KD left, for any superstar who isn't Curry (who is exceptionally selfless and obedient), the warriors' system is a pain to play in for long term. When a guy knows he can just go out there, run a PnR and get a dunk, but is forced to do a bunch of unnecessary off-ball running just to take a last second contested shot, is frustrating.

he is definitely using length more than bounce. When you go up to dunk the gathering has to be more deliberate and if he cant fully palm the ball that gather becomes even more deliberate.

Well, Joseph that's an optimistic way of looking at it. Pessimistically, tho there's everything else that Alch mentioned and Wiggins inconsistent touch at the rim (but he needs to keep attacking). In my case, If the rockets lose to the kings 3 days later and go 3-0 I'd be extremely concerned not that I already am.
Pirate Ramsay
2020-12-29 08:42:59 +0000 UTC
Every time Kelly goes to dunk contested, ball ends up out of his hands. Is it lack of grip, lack of strength or an attempt to flop?
Also it looks that he is not jumping high enough on dunks and tends to dunk with one hand, because his hands are that long, but the ball is exposed more.

jesus christ we are bad. Bulls played some of the worst basketball I've seen and we were down most of the game anyway. Team has to gel quick, otherwise more blowout coming.
I also lowkey hope we lose a lot of games this year just so that steve kerr can get fired, we can replace him with a coach who knows how to run PnR

Getting the win here really allowed me weekend to not be totally crap. My Christmas was uneventful and had the Warriors lost, it really just wouldve made my weekend really sour to end.
Couple things:
1) Oubre continues to make me look dumb. I was hoping he was a better defender than this. His IQ definitely worries me. But I continue to hold out for him because of his effort and fearlessness. I was pissed he missed that wide open 3 for the lead, but the zero hesitation after being 0-for-everything this season shows me he;s not in his own head about it which is good.
2) I told you Tuscano isnt bad man! hahah I remember seeing this dude in summerleague last season and he was a good defender who could hit a shot every now and then. He was damn near our best on ball defender last night and every time he matched up with Lavine, he held his own. I'd still have zero hesitation in trading him for someone better, but the dude deserves to be on the roster right now.
3) About time Curry played that way.
4) I liked Wiggins effort in the game once again.
5) Why does nearly everyone but Steph have such a hard time finishing layups? How many layups did we miss in this game?
6) Definitely the worst game from Wiseman so far, but considering how well he played in the 2 games prior, I wont even give it another word there. Hopefully he learns with Draymond to be better defensively cuz yeah he fell asleep way too many times on easily challenge-able shots for someone his size.
7) FInally, what the hell was up with Kerr's lineups and play calling last night? After Wanamaker (despite his steal ability) was clearly killing us in the 4th quarter, he left him in. We saw ONE PnR with Curry/Wiseman when that led to an easy bucket. And then taking Wiseman out forever and putting him in, only for him to airball a shot, and then take him out again. Like wtf is Kerr doing?

well, on a positive note, the warriors won despite them not shooting up to their standards. there were a lot of open shots that they missed. They also still have chemistry issues. i think if they fix those up, they can sure be a high seed. draymond is coming back soon as well. His on-court leadership, defense, and chemistry with steph will definitely be of big help

Man, this is just gold, Alchemy. Seriously, the way you just built up the analysis throughout the whole game, pulling out all the little essential pieces, like Poole and Oubre and Wiggins and Steph’s free throws, all the basketball details and then the larger picture: the fan-joy and the terrible need for a win in terms of morale and confidence for the squad. It pains me that Mark Jackson makes millions to say, “Mama, there goes that man!” while you do the real work.

I can see this gelling together. You essentially have a completely new team with 2 guys on the court who are getting used to nba pace. (Steph and Big J) the great thing is when everyone starts hitting those open looks the offense can wear a team out. There’s just so much motion and athletic ability from the starters. It’s all up from here great vid bro

Loved your comment about the 105 3's. I went to watch Mullen practice in the 90's before a game and watched him rattle off like 20+ 3's in a row. In practice. In the game he missed his first bunch (I don't really remember, but I do remember thinking... yes, practice is very different than the game). In fact, when I saw that PR I thought to myself, uh oh, another bad game from 3.

I feel like a lot of people are hung up on the shooting numbers. Well I understand that many people have a certain picture of Wiggins in their head, and I'm not gonna sit here and say I watch a lot of T-Wolves the last four years.
But it seems to me like it's become a catch frase to say, 'well wiggins didn't play to his capability' for lots a people. Even though he's been pretty solid like you pointed out.
Either he rubs people the wrong way or they just repeat what the media told them the last 4 years.
Either way, very important win mentally.
More Poole PLS!!!
Great Breakdown as always.

JTA ain't bagging groceries. There is a role for him to rebound, cut, screen, keep the ball moving, drive and kick, rebound, run the floor, defend on ball, defend help side, and occasionally hit an outside shot. He's pretty good at all of that.

Yeah, Oubre is a bit wild. Right now, I'm getting JaVale vibes. On the offensive end, I really hope he works on his 3, so that he can lure defenders out to the perimeter. Even though he's not knocking them down yet, I completely agree that the fact that he's ready to take it is what I LOVE. This is the exact thing that we've been trying to WILL Draymond into doing.
With Oubre, I'm gonna withhold my negative judgement until I see him play with Draymond some, because I expect him to be a defensive beast. I hope, Draymond, EP, Wanamaker, and Oubre are our new "goon squad."
