JP and Klay were both in shoot first mode, and Kerr wanted more point mind from somebody. JP will be able to shift gears down the road, but not yet. Almost no one wins with 4 minute scoring droughts in 4th along with 10 fewer points at the line. Closers aren’t playing smart enough to actually close out! And props to LakeShow for making serious moves, as they’re a tough out again. They got more shooting, more D, more boards, and more ENERGY! Now if LBJ doesn’t kill it for the cameras…

Now if they just didn't want to trade a pick for him it's inexcusable since he's exactly what this roster needs. But there's a possibility they have a backup plan this season to make a big trade that includes the 2023 rookie, the 26 and 28 first and come combination of young talent for an All-Star If that isn't the plan though, yeaa they fucked up royally not getting Vanderbilt, I been pushing for them to get him since the Gobert trade

Defensively, opponents gettin anywhere they want. i don't remember their offense being this bland last year. maybe im wrong? Either way, they need a serious change up

Last year we had high iq vets who could lift up Poole and cover up his mistakes. This year we expected Poole to carry the bench and all the inexperienced youngsters, and it's turned out to be a huge mistake.

They got a bunch of players who would be a perfect fit on the dubs as well, particularly Vando. Vando has been an underrated beast for a while.

It's to the point that he goes out of his way not to play guys. How does jk only get 14 min, 0 in the 4th .you want him to be a role player....he tries but that's not good enough for Kerr who's go to is to blame anyone young. Remember when kuminga was closing games....that actually was our best stretch of closing games we had all year.

GP2 was the consultation prize and they may have gotten burned. Hopefully its just a rehab thing and can be back in time for the playoffs. given how the league deals with us, idk if we'll get any reasonable compensation back from portland.

I hope we will keep this trade. Even he cannot play this season, GP2 will be Donte replacement next season, though they play differently. And you know how impactful he is, I think we play Poole too many minutes, his defense really hurts us. Once Steph is back, he should play like 20 minutes. And we absolutely need to play Kuminga more and run some plays through it. It may sound weird, but whether Steph can get a another champ depend a l lot on his growth. We don’t win Championship last year, if Poole doesn’t get enough minutes to play in the tank season, and become a very good offensive player.

But everyone in the league will know that they will need to dump Wiseman in the summer to save the cash (unless he does something miraculous in the last 30 games). If they don’t want to play him then I don’t think they have any choice, they’ve got to keep GP2.

However, I think Utah was offering him as a combo with Beasley ("You want Vando, you have to take Beasley too."). I too hope Dubs void the deal. I'm a lawyer by trade and am a firm believer in getting the benefit of your bargain. No way Myers makes the deal if he knows the extent of the injury. Bad business to go through with it. Feel for James, but this is a business. Isn't that what Myers said the other day? I think they will go though with it though. The GPII deal feels in part like Steph, Klay, Dray appeasement move. I researched core muscle injuries fka the "sports hernia." Excessive muscle strain over time or suddenly cause the injury. We love all of those GPII dunks over people, but that is just the kind of thing that can cause this injury eventually. The kind of thing that can aggravate it again as well. He has apparently had 5 or 6 prior procedures. You have to heed the red flag here and fold this hand, regardless of nostalgia or sentiment.

Oh and the fact that we didn't think GP2 was worth the salary he got from Portland and then we take him back with that salary anyway just to have a way to dump Wiseman and his salary says a lot about Wiseman's relative worth on the trade market.

2023-02-12 21:22:57 +0000 UTCIf there is even a hint of GP2 having a year or two of this injury, his athleticism is what makes him, without it at 100% he's not it. I love him but his salary is too high, it says he will cost 90-100 million total with all of the taxes which is only 30 something savings over Wiseman's 131 mn 2 year cost. We are Effed either way unless the league says the Warriors get to dump Wiseman and not take GP2 and keep the picks which are not much but a huge savings to sign a bunch of Vets.
