So good to just see the right energy and joy out there…but Alch, “terrorist Pau Gasol”? That was…man

Patrick Kennedy

that steph kuming and beverly interaction was super cringe in real time

Since the trade murmurs began to bubble up from the dregs of late November I've been voicing, mostly against the grain, that Wiggs and JK absolutely MUST stay. Of course of those two players, retaining Wiggs is the option that has raised eyebrows among the W's faithful. But I think more and more people are coming around to the conviction that the Wiggs/JK combo makes us better on both sides of the court and certainly more fun to watch. They both elevate and awe us out on the break. And in the half-court, they both can get to the rim and create their own shots. That's an essential skill in freeing up shooters and forcing the refs to blow the whistle (in our favor) on occasion. And on the other side of the court, I think few would argue the fact that JK/WIggs/Drey are our most formidable defenders. To me the key is Klay. Can he embrace the youngsters and a new role? Can he stay focused on defense and continue to make strides forward as a passer? Time will tell. On a totally unrelated note, can we all raise our beer mugs and toast to a Doc Rivers free future? Don't get me wrong, Doc is a quality human being, one that in terms of social conscience I applaud often and with great enthusiasm. But as a head coach? Considering the talent he's had at his disposal (across several teams) he's done only one thing consistently and that's (grossly) underachieve. Go Warriors! Go Alch!

Childe Costa

Joke of the Review - "What are those!!!"

Mangie

Podz can't shoot like Klay, but he's a much better play-maker, puts more pressure on the defense and at this point, is a better defender except against bigger wings. A big part of Wiggins emergence is playing with real playmakers. Dray, Podz and CP3 are the playmakers on this team.

SAOpp

I have to say I like watching this team without Klay on the floor. Faster, more passing, better rotations, etc. and we are getting more JK opportunities and Wiggs for once may be getting spurred on by JK's athleticism and aggression.

The FAKERS

Anthony Berry

I’m not falling prisoner of the moment with Andrew Wiggins play. For every good game he has now I’m thinking how does that affect he’s trade value

Kd127

You know how Klay shoots those fuck you shots, I feel like Steph makes fuck you passes and it frustrates to no end watching it live. Rather a bad shot from him than a hail Mary pass tbh

AK

Yep, Capella's the guy to snag, if we can.

Neal X

authentically himself all the time cant hate

Athletic Alchemy

he is a slob.. no other way to put it

Athletic Alchemy

I don’t want to agree, but I kinda do now that you mention it

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

For me it’s the carpool when I’m picking up my kids

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

I might be the only Warriors fan that does but man I love Pat Bev, he's always smiling and never seems to carry any hard feelings. He's the classy, likable version of Dillon Brooks

KuraiT

🙏Alch I’m guessing Klay would have matched up a lot on Harris last night, and I can’t tell if I’m being sentimental by saying my gut likes Klay defending him. Maybe Klay sitting has him noticing what you called out, the easier flow for Wiggs and JK. Can Klay join and add to this, not take away from it? I know he “can”, but will he choose to for this 5 to be its best??? How to keep aging Dray sustainable at 5 for heavier minutes to make a run???Especially against Jokic, Zu, Rudy/KAT, Lively…TJD learning fast enough??? JK’s ramp up is a beautiful thing to witness, especially w Dray’s big bro support. Real people…not just pixels…

Chip Tingle

last in league in fast break points bc we hadn't been getting stops lmao Dray's postgame was super revealing: it looks like the vets (at least Dray/Steph) are good with the young guys carrying more of the load. Klay may be the only stumbling block

Abhi Kelkar

If only Klay had the self-awareness to adapt and become a spot-up 3 point shooter, I think this team would be in a much better spot offensively and defensively. I just don't know how much he should be playing off-ball at this stage of his career. The actions felt so much more dynamic between Steph, Draymond and Kuminga because of Kuminga's ability to attack the rim. I know everyone one's been saying Draymond was the missing link for the Kuminga and Wiggins lineup to work but I think you were right about the passing of Milojevic and it's effect on certain players. It must've rekindled Wiggins' love for basketball because life is short and should not be taken for granted.

Jimmy Ji

That's why I think the Capela trade would be amazing - a true 7 foot starting caliber center who can protect the rim and finish while Draymond rests. Not just a plug and play center who can't really do much which is what Loon is at this point. TJD has shown flashes but still has rough patches like last night. Capela would be a perfect steady in his prime vet who you know what you're getting every night.

Luke Zhang

How long can we sustain dray at the five? hasn’t the logic been for years that it’s too much wear and tear on him and that’s why you need Zaza or loony

Gary

It wasn't just the offense either, guys were rotating out to their assignments much quicker last night without Klay on the court.

Jimmy Ji

Man Alch, when it comes to Embiid, I just don't understand why he carries all that weight. He plays more like big wing than a truly, bully ball center, so it just makes more sense for him to drop 30 pounds to help with his mobility. It would also help bring down his injury risk and improve his stamina.

Jacob

Them things looked like Ugg boots.

Neal X

“Korkmaz WHAT THE FUCK?!” The way you said that got an audible laugh out of me haha

The New Guy

Several pod sources have indicated that Utah is actively looking to get off Collins' long-term contract, and that Capella's deal in ATL is seen as negative salary and could reduce the overall asking price for Dejounte if they could get expirings plus draft equity. There are moves to be made that aren't centered around selling young players but instead maximizing the value of the two huge expirings in a market that is filled with several franchises eager to slim their books and create optionally in the off-season.

Stevie Ray

Another great breakdown, Uncle Alch. It's amazing that finally at the very last moment before the trade deadline-Wiggs and Kuminga are both playing great together-the reason is Draymond is FINALLY not suspended but actually playing basketball. Why does this game seem more fluid offensively without Klay in the game? I'd be the happiest if they made an ancillary trade for someone like Nic Claxton or Wendell Carter Jr for whomever on the Warriors-not sure if that's going to happen. But I'm very happy just watching Jonathan Kuminga developing at this rate-without a Steve Kerr minutes restriction. If there was ONE player who could comfortably play 40 minutes a game-it's Jonathan Kuminga.

Paul Hanson

A terrorist Pau Gasol..bro, i'm dying !!!

Vinay Pisini

Something pleased me between 11:00-11:07 mark. Steph about to hit the kitchen, looks at JK on the left and the kid immediately gets it - clear that space! He didn't even direct him to move, they just locked eyes and the kid made the read

Erin Laskey

The biggest addition at the deadline, might not be whose acquired, but the addition by subtraction to move off Klay for any sort of front court depth.

Stevie Ray

Yea, that was the crazy thing about it. No one notice because kuminga didn't flinch. He just didn't react. But slow it down right there and you'll see, embid has his whole foot on kumingas. I don't think it was intentional. He just got big feet. Lol

Carla Davis

Does Kerr have to get Looney his 5 mins every game to keep his streak going? And compounds the issue by trying to sneak Saric in there with him 🤦🏻‍♂️ just bleeding points man But for the first time this year feels like we have an identity. Kinda similar to that mediocre 2021 season where we ended on a 15-5 run by shifting Draymond to center. Slater wrote an article about how there isn’t a needle mover trade out there, but that Atlanta trade for Bogi and Capela would be amazing. If we’re sending out CP who doesn’t fit and Moody who doesn’t play for a functional bench scorer and a real center… honestly that might launch us into contention with the way the rest of the lineup is coming together.

Luke Zhang

No not that one when kuminga fell on his knee. It was the other when it just look like kuminga was guarding embody and it lot like me just fell and you said nice try.

Carla Davis

theory: with the super bowl bound 49ers there, the warriors worked harder than otherwise...

creuset

Warriors need frontcourt help so bad lol.We have one real nba center and he is 6'6

mr.bean

that's gotta hurt.

decomplexify5000

I'm happy we got the W, but it was sloppy from the jump. Curry's TOs sets the tone and other players followed. Kerr needs to hold Curry accountable and everyone else will fall in line. Dario/Looney combo was deeply ineffective (again!) against a hobbled Embiid. Our 3 centers pitched in for a total of 8pts and 9rbs. ///trade rant/// If we're still talking about trades, I'd gladly take any seven footer who can box out and grab rebounds. I'm thinking a Zaza type. Zubac would be more than enough (I know we're not getting him). Any center with a Z in their name. Nothing fancy or flashy.

decomplexify5000

didn't catch that, but I knew he was just ultimately fighting for the ball

Athletic Alchemy

ahh thats who it was.. he looks way bigger on field

Athletic Alchemy

For reals. I depend on these for my lunch break entertainment 🙏

A L

Hey Alc, I just want to say that they play where it looks like kuminga flopped guarding Embid... he didn't flop, embid stepped on his foot. I didn't notice it either but if you slow it down and watch their feet. Embed steps on his foot and then that bump while embed is on his foot is why he fell.

Carla Davis

hahaha the shoes!

Allison Hendrix

With Klay and Looney not playing, Wiggins showing up, Kuminga given room to run, and Draymond and the refs behaving, we're finally starting to look like what we should have been all season. Hopefully Kerr and the front office are paying attention. We still need to tighten up the perimeter defense to lock down sharpshooters, but this one felt good to watch, for the first time in forever.

Neal X

I honestly agree with your dissertation that we might as well wait when it comes to trading Wiggins. Even though he has generally been disappointing this season, he has shown flashes throughout the season of the old Wiggs and he has been picking up steam these past couple of games. I don’t think the warriors are gonna get anything of worth in return for trading Wiggins so they might as well ride out the season with him and hopefully he returns to form the last stretch of the season. Fans might be disappointed if they don’t make any moves but if those moves don’t comfortably push them into the playin or turn around their season then it’s worthless. I just don’t see that opportunity being present on the market right now

Proxied

Love the early upload 👌 Pretty sure that was fellow TE Ross Dwelley with Kittle sideline

Vittorio Servino

Kuminga is going to get a 40 piece before the break. Book it!

Good win.. Embiid was hurting his team out there

“Terrorist Pau Gasol” I’m dead

sam baines

Terrorist Pau Gasol!!! Had me dying, Alch. PHI could really use a guy like Klay. They've got expiring contracts to send our way for his expiring, and they can pay a few picks to soothe our sad fans who have unhealthy attachments to him.

Thomas Ogas

Terrorist Pau Gasol got me dyyyyin

A Wolfeld

Wigs, Klay, CP3 for AD, Bron and Reeves who says no?

Enzo Cree

nice to see some upward momentum really enjoyed the effort of the team ever since dray returned und dekis passing. Hope they can build on that for the offseason as am not in for a bigger trade at this deadline

Ken Bradford

Ong

MaxShade18

crazy that the trade we really need to make (other than a big) is trading 2024 wigs for 2022 wigs...

Sevrin Weiss

I slept well after that win

Athletic Alchemy

Getting at it early today Alch. Always appreciate the effort you put into your content
