post hawks: We can`t afford another klay soul search. he had 2 full years recovering on a max deal, we didn`t even blink to sign him to a max, knowing he would be out at least a year. the organisation doesn`t owe it to him, its the other way around. if he doesn`t sign to a smaller contract fine, but just trade his ass. Love him, but he can`t expect to be our main caracter going forward. I would`nt ask steph to green light it, he obvisously can`t. You respectfully talk to Klay and say goodbye.

Hahaha he has the chance and gifts to actually be the small forward in the west before the end of the season, at least top 3, and the league soon.
Needs to work more this offseason on dribble moves, and that unguardable move. We all saw this coming. I'm happy for the kid.

@donyatesnba, an nba Twitter scout who supposedly predicted Jokic and Sengun, said this about Podz before the draft: "He has an extremely short list of players who hit anywhere close to his intersection of advanced stats, much of it correlating with NBA success. His overlap of rebounding prowess on both sides (oreb% traditionally being a huge marker of potential in guard/wing prospects), - the ability to generate steals (another one) and assists without many turnovers (ding) while handling a high usage rate (ding) and scoring very efficiently via multiple avenues with a difficult shot diet (ding)... again, Podz is special. It makes perfect sense that he surprisingly posted a 39" max vert and looked like maybe the best player at the combine. (Using ATHL or things like combine game performance is fine when they are just reinforcing what stats already tell us IMO.) I really cannot help but see a prospect archetype that has classically been overlooked and slapped with the "NBA-ready skills but lacking in true upside" tag that has been bestowed upon so many future multiple-time MVPs, DPOYs and champions over the last 30 years. Simply put, Podziemski seems to be a winner who is ready to continue his exponential improvement in the NBA. I can't wait to see what form it ends up taking."
Again this was pre draft. He’s talking wild talk here, but have we seen anything that really proves him wrong so far??

JK’s jump stop step through is lethal. And it works damn near out to the 3 point line😂. Looks like he found his signature move. You can’t stop it. Training staff needs to get him in the gym with some elite flop artists this summer and we’ll have our franchise guy.

Loon looked spry, especially on the perimeter. His body seems to respond really well to less minutes. And btw, Wiggs is not getting winded anymore. I noticed that about two weeks ago. All season he has somewhat looked like he had asthma, or something metabolic going on.

I totally agree that JK is better for having landed on a demanding team. But I think it’s fair to say that Kerr’s decision not to play JK and Moody last year was a mistake. Even if Lamb and Jerome were marginally better, it just wasn’t worth the drama. It divided the fan base, divided the locker room, and damaged the reputations of JK, Moody and Kerr himself. And for what?
Making your lottery picks sit behind two way guys is a pretty dramatic move. It only makes sense if a) it’s a Wiseman situation and the pick is truly hopeless or b) the pick is a total knucklehead who simply refuses to buy in to the team. But that was never the case with JK.
Realistically, JK would still be on the bench being called a low IQ guy who “just doesn’t get it” if Draymond, Looney, Wiggins and GP2 hadn’t had such disastrous first half’s of the season. Even then, he’d still be riding the pine if he hadn’t gone to the media.

If JK wants to explore and optimize his iso game, he can study DeMar DeRozan. Like KD, he has the best high release for shots near the rim

😂😅 no Kerr did not Pai Mei him (Kill Bill) your right it’s to JK’s credit that he survived the cruel teachings of Pai Kerr and Kerr tardiness to the party that his rookie was ready to ascend which I fear he is also doing with Moody. But Scottie Barnes has developed without the pressure to win now. I think there is long term benefits to JK’s developmental path

there was something different with Kuminga's cadence after the game. just slower, smoother, and more confident. Interesting how that corresponds with his play as of late.
Obviously, this opportunity should've come sooner. But it's driving me crazy with people posting highlights of his rookie year and acting like this production and playing the right way is something that he was always going to do with more minutes. He has grown as a player and now it's time for him (and us) to reap those benefits.

2024-02-03 21:31:00 +0000 UTC
I see what you mean but the credit should really go to Kuminga. Fairly and sometimes unfairly frustrated by our coaching staff while his counterparts were given free reign to develop and play through their mistakes and make a name for themselves; he stayed focused, believing in himself even though few else did and now he’s reaping the benefits. I do think the Warriors and the adversity has gotten the best out of him but we shouldn’t fool ourselves to believe this was some kind of Kerr masterplan for Kuminga. This is more of a fortunate accident

Great breakdown. However we are getting into the soft part of the season. They keep saying we’ve had the hardest schedule in the league all year. Now we get a GLeague Grizz and hopefully some of those sad bottom feeders. JK should look unstoppable there. Not sure it’d be the same in playoffs Rd2

He's a rhythm player. Now he has a ball more, he's more comfortable.
Dray giving him the key is huge. That's what the organization moves towards.
I think we will call warriors kuminga’s team soon. Having Steph as a second guy is luxury.
Now it's time for Klay to accept his role.

2024-02-03 20:57:42 +0000 UTC
I agree! Steph isn’t demonstrative towards refs. He doesn’t flop. But allowing players to hold him off ball, smack him in the face, yank his arm when he’s going around screens. He continues to play the right way. Could it be them punishing Steph for Draymond’s actions?

The weird thing is that it just makes no sense. Like, if you were an NBA fan who just woke up from a fifteen year coma and you were told about Steph’s persona, popularity, size, and importance - used assume that it’d be disgusting how much the refs protected him…

Hindsight is 20/20 … we may look back to find that Kerr dogging JK … forcing him to earn his spot was the best thing that could have happened to a cocky super athlete capable of having a career based on his raw ability alone - JK put the work in … shot his shot in the media, but more importantly backed it up on the court. Unlike many lottery talents he had to earn his … not by just scoring buckets but by playing winning basketball. 🫵🏾🫵🏾🫵🏾🤛🏾 His idol Kobe got it this way , maybe we have a star. Lastly I hope we can give Moody an opportunity before we ship him off… I have a feeling he is more than ready to be a solid 2guard 16 to 18 pts a game. Hate to see him shipped without knowing first. Especially if we don’t resign Klay.

When someone like Draymond or Pods facilitates, the offensive options are much greater. If everyone is clicking and the defense doubles on someone...it's game over. Hit the open man. LETHAL WEAPON 4!

Isn't JJJ a righty? He shoots right handed on 3s + free throws, but he does tend to finish a lot with his left hand inside, and it seems like he goes for blocks with his left a lot.
Also, during the game I was giving Klay the benefit of the doubt since he's coming off being sick (Dario seems to have caught the same bug). I've been hard on him this year, but I feel like if he were healthy a lot of those misses would have ordinarily gone down. But yeah, the guy def needs to stop living and dying by each shot.

Love to see it, but now people trying to credit kerr and draymond for kuminga lol said it starting last year why doesn't he have the ball and get screens for him? Post ups? Plays ran for him? Of course he has got better, he wants to be the goat and works hard but he could of been helping more. Next step is in the 4th qtr get him the ball and stop shooting 3s so much. Kuminga has never been a role player, no surprise that the more involved he is, more minutes and touches and shoots the ball better from everywhere. Still skeptical of kerr

Yo, can we talk about how big of an attitude shift we have seen from JK. Almost like getting on this positive streak has taken some load off of him so he can finally see the forest for the trees. The way he spoke at the end of the game felt like there was some more maturity. Even the celebration when klay hit the 3. He always felt like a little kid at times, with the way he'd react to situations and Kerr but it feels like a little push is letting him relax and accept the criticism as way to get better rather than a slight. I feel like I can see him getting better during games.

Good win overall, and another encouraging game from the young guys. JK & Podz obviously stood out the most, but LQ and Gui had good moments, as well.
Speaking of Gui, l was surprised to see him getting 1st quarter minutes over TJD, but made sense with Dario out. Had that one quick layup you highlighted in the breakdown, but he had another one in the 1st quarter, as well, where he took Kennard off the dribble and got to the rim.

"King Koopa" I like that nickname for Kuminga. Final Boss status. It's worth noting that less than a week after Draymond returned from suspension, Kuminga made this noticeable level up and started scoring 20+ every game. To add to that, whenever he's asked about this leap he's made, the person he credits by name if any, is Draymond

Im not too worried about Klay.. especially considering Kerr has already shown he has no problem benching him. The good thing with Klay is that you can tell pretty early if he has it going or not.
With BPOD and Kuminga on the rise.. Wiggins coming back to form... where does that leave Moody? I think he might be the one on the chopping block unfortunately. Not to mention CP3 as well. I sometimes forget CP3 is on the team

The one thing I’ll say about Klay’s attitude is peep his reaction on JK’s 3 in the fourth. I know it was one play, but he’s also showing positive energy for other players so at least he’s not just stewing on the bench. Also, his reactions are coming off wide open shots that are like rimming out or layups he’s just leaving on iron. I know it’s easier said than done to just forget it, move on to the next play but I feel like that would fuck with anyone when they see 5 or 6 shots that shoulda gone down
