😂😂😂 its so weird though because Draymond was a guest on PG's podcast

yan't get right

Loon gets cooked by Zubac every time. Maybe match him up with TJD and play Loon and Saric v Plumlee

Abhi Kelkar

Damn broskis. It can be both things. We love Klay but father time is undefeated.

Abhi Kelkar

Missed the game but it’s absolutely disgusting that we lost when PG was out down the stretch. Why the coaching staff doesn’t modernize their defensive approach and just guard the 3 pt line better idk. The whole league is better at hitting 3s now, especially cause they know we overhelp

Abhi Kelkar

I literally watch for the comedy. "stop letting these ratchet ass girls sit on his face"

Mangie

Could be some shit going on behind the scenes, I can see someone like JK being a bit arrogant or abrasive, but I don't want to speculate. But I think we can all agree that aside from Klay, one of the biggest culprits for our poor 4th quarter play is none other than Wardell Stephen Curry II. He needs to try and learn to be a better distributor, and as a team, the coaching staff needs to step up and develop strategies for how to help him deal with traps better and keep the ball safe.

Neal X

lol "cojones"

Neal X

That's a really great point about Moody, Alch. I never thought about it, but he should really get the minutes over Quinones. He deserves the chance. Also, what is up with Kerr's infatuation with Saric? Did he really think it was a good idea to put Saric in there against harden over TJD? If TJD was given a chance over Saric, then the option of putting him on the floor during the 4th quarter would have been viable. Then with TJD covering Zubac, we can stick Draymond to a nonshooter like Westbrook and he can provide the all around help defense that he's best at. Klay was just out to lunch. Instead of debating over Mood/Quinones, maybe Mood should take some of Klay's minutes.

adrian salazar

I completely forgot Mood's a lottery pick. I get why he'd feel a type of way about his treatment. Dude's BEEN patient as well.

Vulacior

Alch - it would be interesting to look at some of the data and talk about why are we so EPICALLY BAD in the 4th quarter this season? It's definitely a thing. There is no lead so large that I don't think we'll blow it, and we almost always do.

John Pettus

I think that's right. Mood's handle is terrible.

John Pettus

Klay has ALWAYS been a space cadet. He's been TERRIBLE at decision-making and turnovers int he 4th ever since he came back. We just can't afford to close with him. He plays losing basketball.

John Pettus

Kerr said this felt more like a one off than falling back into old habits. Obviously a bit of both, but I agree with him. Anyway, when cp gets back I think Klay will be right in that conversation with Moody and Lester. The guy is truly lost out there.

Jacob

Draymond got a podcast beef

Shannon M

Dumpster Gumbo?? 😅🤣😂

Marie Bekele

The reason to reduce his minutes is purely to limit the damage he can cause. I'm still for letting him walk next season. I think a comment I saw on YouTube said it best: "I want Klay to retire as a Warrior. I also want him to retire tomorrow."

Neal X

I'm not the type to pile on but I'm surprised you didn't bring up Klay didn't box out after the next possession which is how they got the Offensive rebound

JSII

Don’t MoMo and Lester have very different roles? Lester more 1/2 w PG skills, Moses more 2/3 with no PG skills.

Chip Tingle

PnR D is more than Kerr, imo. I don’t know how much is left to Dray/players in the moment versus coaches’ orders. I have to think Dray is a huge part of these choices, no matter which, and thus he needs to share the blame accordingly. Add CP3 on the bench as one of history’s best PnR practitioners! It was obvious to most, yet no changes???

Chip Tingle

I kept thinking that we need to pick up another athletic rim protector that can also provide another lob and pick and roll threat for the og's. Then I see TJD hanging in his warmups the whole game. It boggles the mind. Is there some mysterious rookie hazing ritual he has not completed for Coach K? It seems Klay is not the only one stuck in 2018.

Michael E

This is spot on. Saric now appears to be even slower than Loon, and alch has correctly and repeatedly pointed out his defensive gaffes. Love Loon, and he should play, but TJD is energy, and makes plays at both ends. And, Klay looks better when TJD on the floor with him. TJD will make mistakes, but the there will be fewer if Kerr plays him more. Kerr needs to do it.

Run CTM

Yep, I'm old. And I look forward to you being around after Steph leaves and this team sucks again... Oh wait, I know you won't because you're just like all the other bandwagon fans that know everything. Good luck rooting for this team while you do. ✌🏿

Nos Dollas

Before the game, anyone who watched this team all season who has a brain knew that Looney and Dario should never have even seen the floor in this game. Why on God's green earth would you play those slo-mo-fos against the best 3 pt shooting team in the league?

Neal X

Ya, Klay f'ed up, but giving up 44 in the 4th is a bigger, ongoing F up, and more systematic and teamwide. POA pnr coverages/choices you point out, Alch, led Clips to so many open looks, easy buckets for a deep team w shooters and a real DAWG spirit dialed up by a good coach intentionally getting himself tossed. Dubs are simply not in this elite wrung anymore, a tough thing for all to accept and adapt to, but changes are surely coming this off season. Still a lotta fun to watch as underdogs with a punchers' chance on most nights, always led by Chef. Adapt or die? Adapt or become irrelevant?

Chip Tingle

When you made that Freddie Gibbs joke I didn’t know what you were talking about then I went on twitter and saw somebody post about and im out here crying 🤣🤣

Alaase Shambe

If it happened with less time on the clock and down 3, then yes. But 38 seconds gifted them a likely two possession game rather than having a real chance at one stop with plenty of time to then tie it with a 3 ball. Bad mistake, but one of many teamwide, especially thru 4th leading to a 44 point quarter Dubs gave up.

Chip Tingle

You're right, Chip! Kerr got outdone...again., by Lu...who wasn't even on the floor. We have individuals who could be playing better, but someone, specifically Kerr, has to be accountable for these blown leads.

decomplexify5000

Giving up 44 in the 4th will lose most games, especially close ones. D went south, especially initial pnr action that created so many good shots, especially corner 3's by ace shooters from there. They're deep w shooters, Powell and Coffey off the bench??? And Beard/Zu know how to create for them.

Chip Tingle

as for mood or cojones...gotta go w mood. Really don't understand it, the man comes in & always plays hard, winning bball. I figured his lack of playtime was cause he was in a potential trade or something or they were lookin to move him- but that didn't happen. Kinda just cruel at this point as he could def play good mins for another team

Mikey H

Not klays fault. It’s all coaching. Which includes klay

Brian Ricketts

Sounds like a lie but russ can put em down in the clutch. Everything else he does in the clutch is the wrong move but he'll get his free throws

Mikey H

Whatever that was with Dray and PG just seemed nasty af. I support Dray but watching it live, couldn't help but think my guy is unhinged 😅

AK

Hey, does anyone remember game 20 on December 3rd against the clippers in LA? That was the game in which Uncle Alch provided some comic relief wondering out loud if perhaps Klay's bong-toking has gone a weebit off the rails. In that game too, you may recall, we looked great for most of the game before unraveling down the stretch and ultimately losing on another bone-head play by Klay (sagging off George who hit the game winning 3 with us up by 2). I thought Kerr had finally learned his lesson (benching Klay down the stretch just a few nights ago). Instead it appears we are going to have to relive the post-game Klay sulking and trite "gotta get better" introspection right to the bitter end. As for Saric, jeez, he sure looked better when paired with CP3. The problem is that even if he is shooting well from 3 he can't play the 5 because on defense he's basically a big, slow wing. As for captain Kerr, how many more losses are necessary to inculcate the necessity of greater balance between the vets and the more athletic youth movement? Balance, grasshopper, balance! More Wiggs, JK, Trayce, Moody and Quinones please! Gotta bring it tonight in Salt Lake. Go Warriors. Go Alch!

Childe Costa

well you're slow buddy. Steve Kerr was running Klay and Dario minutes. And Klay took 2nd most shots on the Warriors while being trash. you're just an old man stuck in your ways. you've spent 30 years rooting for one team, of course you're going to be biased and irrational in your ways

ChizzyTheKid

Missed the game so as always Alch really appreciative of these breakdowns. I expected the loss as the Clippers have just proved to be a much more consistent team since that Harden trade. No real surprises it seems they seem issues that have plagued the losses all season plagued us here. I feel real bad for Moody the team have really done him dirty and taken advantage of his maturity and team first mentality. At this point I wouldn't blame him if he tried some JK stuff and made public comments to try and get the team to budge. At this point they should just send him to another team instead of holding him hostage for no reason. i cannot wait for Kerr to be gone at this point. Never been clearer that a new voice and fresh approach is needed.

Alasdair Macdonald

I just wish Klay would keep shooting mid range shots that aren't forced, and shoot 3's when he isn't leaning or falling. If he gets one in balance let it go, if he comes off a pick and gets open from 15-20 let that go as well. But Dude, stop chucking up these "I deserve to shoot any shot, even if I'm ice cold because I'm Klay Thompson" shots. Take a cue from CP3 and get your team mates good shots, then focus on defense, rebounds and assists.

Russ

Yesterday… Alch “I wonder if Kenny wasn’t coaching would we see TDJ” Alch you you have your answer… the professional coach non player just knew how to dispatch his troops better

Jello Smooth

this is a good loss, a normal one, we are still rolling, yet i still need to see TJD playing

Naji Zouhari

The over-helping in the paint problem has been going on for YEARS now (ever since Mike Brown left, hmmmmm) and there hasn't been a real change. Disappointing to see there's nobody taking accountability there.

Neal X

It is a big mistake. Even with Russ, there is almost 90 percent chance that he can at least get one free throw , and it would make it a two possession game., but we got 39 seconds left. We can just try to defend for one possession. It is a mind fucking decision and this is not the first time Klay made bad decision in the close game. Kerr is also to blame for his rotation and let Klay take shots as much as he wants while we apparently have a much better second option Kuminga. Klay made watch Warrior game painful…

Tai Jan Huang

Not gonna lie, this one made me see red. I was probably waking up my neighbors. I really, really, just don't want this season to be remembered as "the one where we could have been a contender but Kerr insisted on letting Klay shoot us out of games". This is on him for playing Klay in the 4th, among other things. Yes, there's blame to go around, but after Klay PUBLICLY gave permission to get less minutes, Kerr still gives him 30? Even after it's CLEAR he's klanking?! No excuses.

Neal X

For all these so called fans bitching about Klay, I sincerely wish the worst for you. This is why the fanbase is toxic as hell. This is why even though I've been a fan for over 30 years I root for them to lose sometimes. You can criticize a player/coach but when you continuously bag on players/coaching when they lose but barely acknowledge what they do in wins you become the whiney petulant fanbase the rest of the world sees you as. This is not a great team. Just enjoy the damn games and watching greatness while we still have it.

Nos Dollas

Tbh, I love me a good millennial-led team showdown. I think the Clippers are awesome and my second fav team in the league. But they really do highlight the warriors biggest weak spot, which is having too many options. Through all the bullshit this season, I think we've kinda proven that we really can play a BUNCH of different players. But against a team like this: there's levels. The Clippers don't have a ton of systems but then once shit breaks down they have 3 ALPHA wings who can play any style of ISO ball and create immediate, timely leverage within their system. It's honestly quite scary. The Clippers are "deep" because the roles are clear. The warriors are deep only in theory. Shit, some of my favorite wins of the season have been when it felt like everyone was contributing and we leveraged all our G-League players, and Steph didn't have to exert too much. Those wins felt like we were sitting on a goldmine. BUT if they want to beat a team like this when it matters, it's kind of a sign that we're going to need to pick a style fast and stick to it. Learn how to feature Kuminga or don't. Begin forcing Draymond to learn how to play with TJD. There are no more excuses, we already went on the mid-season run to prove that we're actually a good team that can lean on young players. But watching Steph ballhog in crunch time because we're still out there experimenting with our approach is not going to lead to any memorable success this season.

yan't get right

I don't get why people are blaming the loss of Klay's foul there. It wasn't really such a big mistake even. Russ is not the greatest free throw shooter, and we could be trading 3s for 1s or 2s, essentially. I think the real problem was that when they came out in the 4th, they were doubling the ball on every single possession, and because of no rim protection, they were closing on the paint, leaving shooters open in the corners. They didn't really double that much the entire game, so doing this in the 4th seemed like a clear strategy change from the coaches.. In short - Kerr's fault.

Ivan (Vanya) Kashperuk

JK is already our #2. They're not playing him like the #2 and it makes being #2 difficult.

Joseph Makara

Klay will never fit into a PJ Tucker type role. Tucker is a very smart and alert player, and Klay is just not. If he can’t fit into that role, then what role can he play?

FatAlpert

The rarity is now to find a game where Looney is even playable

Valantur

Was Valentine’s Day so I was kinda half watching and pissed that it seemed like we were dominating and then pissed away the lead in the fourth, but it seems like we were just getting lucky the whole game and in the fourth the Clippers finally made us pay and hit some shots. Idk if that makes me feel better or worse lol. It also felt like the Ty Lue ejection helped them way more, as we were both kinda just going through the motions but that fired them up but not us. Lack of TJD is infuriating especially coming off his performance in Utah and us getting killed on the offensive glass late in the game. And then add in neither Loon or Dario are playing well with Dario struggling with his shot. Love Podz but I feel like sometimes we just need GP2 out there to close. Stick him in Harden and let him fight through every screen. All that trapping with a bunch of dudes 6’6” and under in the back line is ridiculous. Sigh just when the vibes were good 😒 seems like Kenny doesn’t feel empowered when Kerr is there. I would’ve liked to see an extended amount of games with Kenny at the helm to see if there’s any difference in decision making.

Luke Zhang

I think I've reached my limit with Klay. I pray they let him walk this summer. I just can't stand watching that dude anymore.

Savino

Pods doesn't like JK. He was the only player to publicly take a dig at JK during the JK vs Kerr issue. I think it's also a competition thing, being the same age and JK being an easy target for. But also I think GSW is doing a lot to pay JK less than he's due come rookie extension time. There is no other way to explain how Kerr treats the guy.

Joseph Makara

With 8:36 left (I think we were still up 9), Kerr put out a lineup we've rarely seen this year in Looney , Steph, Klay, Wiggins and GP2. In a span of 1:36, Clippers went on an 8-0 run and we lost our momentum. I really dislike Kerr's rotations. Considering how close this game was, I think we would've won had we played TJD in Looney's minutes.

Jimmy Ji

Indeed. Wiggins looks too timid out there and needs to take more contact like JoKu. We make the FTs last night, we tie that game.

decomplexify5000

And would get us early in the bonus and opposing players possibly in foul trouble.... And as an older slower team, hunt these cheap fouls like all teams do, "nah, we like to play bball the right way..."

gary garcia

We know as fans when klay is klanking, how is it possible that the coaching staff doesn't.?!?!?!

gary garcia

Buuuuuuut, we get no whistles anyways, our players don't seek contact so the free throws are out of the windows...

gary garcia

I think we found the "Klay Threshold". 5 game win streaks. This is how long it takes for Klay to play well and play good team ball, and once we get to 5 Ws, he immediately goes right back to dumbass Klank. We had one 5 game win streak earlier this season when we all thought they were turning it around again. And then Klay reverts to his asshole alter ego. This was a team loss dont get me wrong. But it is NO coincidence that the ONE game Klay closes, we finally lose.

Jansen E

Timely time outs to break the rhythm once the other team begins to cook... Basic stuff every winning coach does.... But Kerr let's them ride it out....

gary garcia

Gui could have bothered pg13 and harden and not let Powell cook in the corner.

gary garcia

No TJD, last game pg13 said it, they identified that we had NO RIM PROTECTION and started feasting.... We have the size to counter that, but Kerr opts not to use it because.... Wait for it.... He doesn't like playing young and big....

gary garcia

Kuminga kuminga kuminga.... Get people in foul trouble, get younger, better defense down the stretch, mere is back along with his bad habits.... Should have left Kenny close the half.

gary garcia

Ty Lue baited us with the early drop coverage... he knew Steph would be ultra aggressive. And he switched to a blitz after the half when he knew our weakside shooters were out of rhythm. Teams who can switch all of our actions.. and who have guys that Wiggins and Kuminga cant physically exploit is our weakness. Mainly due to us only really having one guy who can isolate on the perimeter.

Ballin Forever

defensive strategy made no sense. but i’m sorry to say this the reality is that klay and loon most nights are straight up NOT playable. unless kerr is willing to literally completely phase them out of the rotation this team will not reach its full potential.

Dami I

Just frustrated. When you think this team has turned a corner, they just turn right back around and go get lost again thinking they're in 2019. Late game execution is just the worst. For a team with this much experience, and been in hundreds of close games, I cannot understand how they seem to lose all their BBIQ and resort to playground ball and break all their defensive rules. Is it coaching? Is it coasting? Is it just an over reliance on talent in the past? I'm so confused.

Thomas Ogas

I haven’t even watch this yet but I have to say this- why are we going away from Wiggins and kuminga slashing? The new plan is to play Klay 30 plus minutes ? We lost this game at the 7 minute mark when Klay took those dumb 2 threes in a row. He just can’t play in the 4th !!!!!Is kerr getting too old to decide what’s the best lineup because ALL OF US SEE IT

Ryan becker

Honestly for me the 4th quarter felt uncharacteristically bad.. we were just out there going through the motions.. yeah Dario has become nearly unplayable for us

Offtopic K

Yeah, Klay was bad, especially that foul in the clutch, but the team played horrible defence even while he was sitting. He subbed back in for that last inbound play, Warriors shouldn't have been in that position once PG was fouled out. The entire team should be ashamed for letting that happen

Nyeooooowmmmm

This one was so frustrating to lose. Podz getting cracked by Plumlee. Draymond catching the elbow on the jaw. This is just the type of game that a team needs to win together. We have lost too many of these playoffs experience nail biters. Really hard to have faith when they continue to lose these in the same fashion. Kerr needs to get it through his thick skull already that Klay is a back up now. He isn’t a starter or a closer. Agreed on needing some size at the end and that Trayce should have been in earlier so he was an option.

Tyler Nevans

Agree that Kuminga is not ready to be a #2. He will be in five years. But that’s past SC window. They should’ve used Kuminga for Siakam.

Gary

Steph needs take note from the floor general to learn how to distribute the ball and get everyone involved, this will make him= unpredictable and more of a threat. Klay used to be my favorite Warrior, but he’s aging like an overripe Avocado/Banana. I’m done watching his constant emotional tantrums, boned-headed decisions jacking up unbalanced shots acting like JR Smith and Westbrick putting our team in jeopardy. You can’t teach old dog new tricks. He got paid multiple times and I don’t feel bad for him at all. He should’ve been traded so he could find an another team to finish his last chapter of his career. He’s costing us way too much since his injuries.

Walter Kim

And by the way what are the ingredients in Dumpster Gumbo?

Anthony Berry

Alch haven't seen that inverted pick and roll I don't think this game, is that a read and react thing for Steph or are the defenses not falling for it anymore?

Anthony Berry

Great video, Al. Every problem described comes down to coaching. - Draymond out of shape? Get him Steph's endurance coach. - Draymond taking on too much of the 5? Find a replacement on the bench (TJD). - Dario is too timid and one dimensional; give his early minutes to TJD. - Wiggins not finishing at the rim, again and again? Get on him. Show him Kuminga highlights. - Klay's 3 ball not working, coaching reminds him to switcth to 2-ball or get benched. End of game, I'd rather have Klay as he can hit his free throws. Wiggins and Pods cannot hit free throws...and it's another coaching issue. Early foul trouble for Quinones reminds me too much of Poole. I don't care for it. Bring in Moody. This idea that CP3 would have unlocked Kuminga didn't happen. This idea that CP3 and Dario will run pick and pop/rolls together in the not so distant future really bothers me. This game was lost on bad coaching. missed free throws, shots and bad finishes at the rim are fixable through better coaching.

decomplexify5000

Random thought: When Dray was praising JK before the deadline talking about the second option, carrying the old guys etc…that was all just game. He was just pumping up the asset to get his King to the Bay lol

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

I was watching Gils arena and Kenyon Martin said something about defense on Harden. We all know he is a lefty and we all know that as a lefty you want to step back to the right because your body is naturally aligned to the basket. Why do we continuously allow Harden to attack the right side of the court and get to his step backs. He rarely does it going left and every big shot he has hit on us has been on the right side of the court. At a point these NBA players have to understand that!!

Kahlil Baker

Kerr’s refusal to get TJD minutes is ridiculous. Looney still looks bad - Saric may be our worst defender - and the kid brings energy, he’s a lob threat, a solid rebounder. I’m not saying he should be playing 30 minutes - but he’s got to get 10-15 a game. Kenny knows it - he showed it in Utah. And Klay in crunch time, especially when he’s clearly playing poorly all game - just classic Kerr. I’m done. We need new leadership

G 2tha P

Not sure I noticed the Podz jk thing, but you are right there is a lot of hero ball late. The lines are so blurred with what is a good shot when it comes to Steph. But it does seem like part of the “let the young guys cook” arrangement is.. vets are going to get the shots late regardless

Athletic Alchemy

I don't even count this as a loss, 25 to 4 FTs in the second half ya that's not suspicious at all. We got on a nice run it was only a matter of time before the league stepped in

KuraiT

Just gotta get some stuff of my chest real quick about this game/team 1: is Kuminga a second option in name only or? Only 2 shot attempts in the 4th. We gotta get the ball to our rim threat and make the offense easier on ourselves 2: Everyone keeps saying that Steph needs help, yet in these clutch time situations I see him playing a LOT of hero ball with Wiggins and Kuminga sidelined in the corners, we gotta get both athletes involved at the end of games 3: Is it me or do you guys notice Pods looking of Kuminga? As soon as GP2 came back he's caught a lot of lobs from Pods, yet I never see any to Kuminga, even though Kuminga gives the motion for one when he's open he never gets a lob nor does he get passed the ball when he has a mismatch. Tell me if I'm tripping... 4: Simply put Kuminga needs more on ball reps stop running motion when Steph is of the floor and put the ball in his hands

Old Runner

These are the type of things that the "Steph is not a PG" crowd would point to... I agree he and JK actions put the most pressure on the defense and its not even close

Athletic Alchemy

Steph NEEDS to involve JK, especially in the 4th. It will make his job easy. Seems he would rather Klay. You could see him pointing JK to the corner on a few possessions in the 4th. He also needs to manage the game, know when to slow the pace, know when to run down the clock

Joseph Makara

When you're in a try not to be a fuckin idiot competition and your opponent is GSW

Sunny Singh

we shot well, but look at some of this tape

Athletic Alchemy

This was a very good game from us we just dropped the ball at the end… I’d argue we were out executed though.. maybe Utah truly is in tank mode and give us this win
