I agree, Dray and Steph need each other. When Draymond was suspended we were atrocious. We started winning again when Dray came back.

2024-03-11 16:59:04 +0000 UTC@Julian: So, the team's problems stems from Klay and not the poor coaching decisions stemming back to Jordan Poole getting punched? What about Draymond's suspensions earlier this year?

2024-03-11 15:41:39 +0000 UTCWithout Steph coached at a mediocre level, they're probably a 18-24 level team. Without Steph the way Kerr has been coaching them, they're in the 25-27 category after the three worst teams in the league. That's what this FO has achieved in the last 5 years of managing the team since Kevin Durant left while having Steph Curry. They should be embarrassed.
Julian
2024-03-11 15:32:37 +0000 UTCWhat the ownership has in terms of money is completely irrelevant, because it's based on budgets, caps, and restrictions. Not what owners can afford. Klay's contract is a reason the team has their hands tied behind their back, especially with the new rules to slow down teams from spending. Lacob also has far less income than most owners in the league, he's just more willing to spend it. The 6th spot is nothing more than a pipe dream the second Steph went down. All the teams above are consistently winning at a rapid rate so the Warriors would probably need a 90%+ win rate moving forward for the rest of the season to make 6th, which is not happening.

2024-03-11 15:31:02 +0000 UTCKerr mentioned in his post game comments that he started that unit because he thought they would set a good defensive tone. It was a decent defensive start but that starting unit really struggled offensively. Keep in mind we only scored 16 points in the 2nd qtr. The defense ended up being bad but so was the offense.

2024-03-11 15:01:13 +0000 UTCMy main point is nobody has won a championship with this many young players on the team. Our roster is not properly balanced. I think fans should accept that and just enjoy the ride. Regarding the starter issue at the beginning of the year. We had two or three anchors dragging it down, i.e. Wiggins, Thompson, & Looney. It's pretty obvious why that starting line up was struggling. The good news is Klay is playing much better with his new role off the bench. The other two not so much. Your right that it's not just young players that are struggling but it feels like their are more young players on this roster then veterans or players in their prime.

2024-03-11 13:51:04 +0000 UTCI mean, yeah. That’s the conventional wisdom in a basketball sense. No doubt. But I’m referring to capital-L Leadership and who’s always been responsible for setting the tone and galvanizing the golden state warriors to play with intention on a consistent nightly basis. It’s a joint effort between those two. And I’ve seen them both too often lose stamina for that leadership whenever one is out.

2024-03-11 08:33:04 +0000 UTCIs not the reason that he got swapped out because Kerr defines the rotation minutes before the game - so the players actually should know. Kerr should adjust more but it is not that Kerr swaps them out because they got going

2024-03-11 03:40:52 +0000 UTCYou're contradicting yourself. Do we have veterans to blame, or is it a roster full of 20 year olds? The starting unit has been weaker than the bench all year. That might have decreased with Podz going to the starters, but now with Steph out it's really apparent.

2024-03-11 02:35:06 +0000 UTCHe CAN do a lot defensively, when he's being Good Dray. Bad Dray is worse in some ways than having nobody out there. The reason Good Dray doesn't show up is either (1) he just didn't care to show up (2) he's gassed because he's out of shape, old, or both. EITHER (1) and (2) are reasons to say goodbye to him after this season.

2024-03-11 01:46:33 +0000 UTCDefensively Warriors are playing like kindergarteners. All of them only chase after the ball. No one has the idea of defensive SPACING. Pods is not used to step back, so he is so limited in his dribbling. Moody needs a better shooting form, his shooting is too inconsistent as a shooter. JK has to post up and use his turnaround 6. Footers more, with his physicality, no one can stop that.

2024-03-11 01:15:19 +0000 UTCShitty game. I think all the players are just looking around at each other like "no, you go first" with Steph out. But let's not overreact. Steph shouldn't be praised for being a system by himself and then we also slaughter the rest of the (young ass) team for taking time to adjust to playing without him. (We should let wiggins have it though) But yeah, the Draymond thing is a real problem. The leadership of the team has always been a hybrid of him and steph, but it's abnormal in that they don't pick up each other's slack when one is missing. They really need each other in a somewhat fatal way, and they only lead with energy when the other is there alongside.

2024-03-11 00:29:33 +0000 UTCOH, and uh, while we're on the subject of post-season moves, how about a defensive coach that can actually put a stop to the over-helping shit? Because whoever we're paying right now isn't getting the job done.

2024-03-11 00:02:25 +0000 UTCWell BP has been playing well over 30 minutes a game for a long stretch so I still don't see why JK is only playing that much when he should be essentially the #1 scoring option...

2024-03-10 23:40:32 +0000 UTCI dunno man, I know I’m down after us getting soundly beat by two shit teams, but to play that wing position you need more than solid D, and he just can’t make shots.

2024-03-10 22:51:53 +0000 UTCWith all due respect, I disagree and find it pretty interesting how the Klay haters bring up contracts. This ownership has plenty of money from what I recall. You can keep Draymond, CP3 and Pods in your triple single starting line up on Monday and watch us lose another game to the Spurs. Warriors were out-sized, out rebounded and out-coached. I have more trust in Klay to start and take the last shot of the game than Draymond, Pods, CP3 and any active player right now. He is our third best scorer by a hair. But yeah, let's play a 6'2" rookie in the final minutes to blow a couple of critical games for us. That will not carry us into the 6th spot. It's unacceptable, poor judgement and lack of strategy from Kerr.

2024-03-10 22:49:55 +0000 UTCNot half the game sorry for the misunderstanding but from my memory. (Jk) 1q- came out around 7 minutes returned 2nd quarter. Started 2nd quarter played until 4 minute mark did not return 3rd quater came out around 7 minute mark, returned with like 37 seconds left 4 quater played almost the entire quarter. Mostly garbage time after 5 min mark. Jk 30 minutes (25 minus that garbage time) Klay 25 minutes My bad for being unclear. I just feel that jk (also klay)can’t be sitting for 7 minutes like in the first and 3rd. they should be closer to 37 minutes than 25 Also they need to play together more.(sorry for length)

2024-03-10 22:37:23 +0000 UTCI would like to point out that this game in particular, not the whole season, I saw Wiggins hit two good shots, and Kerrs next move was to bench him, and I want those who keep watching the season to look out for that, watch and see how often you pick out a player make a shot, then immediately go to the bench, it’s a very odd occurrence that I’ve noticed recently.
Sarcasm 360
2024-03-10 22:32:11 +0000 UTCCan we seriously stop babying Wiggins, this whole “the team needs to get him touches” is annoying. He is disinterested and doesn’t care to play basketball. 2024-03-10 22:15:22 +0000 UTCWhen Curry is out, Draymond is utterly useless on the court. They should have just gone with CP3, Moody, Wiggins, JK, TJD, and let CP3 run a more traditional offense that fits the players that are on the floor. Draymond brings nothing on offense. His only use is to get the ball to Curry. When Curry is out, they should just sit Draymond too.
Thomas Ogas
2024-03-10 22:06:02 +0000 UTCKlay DOES NOT deserve more respect and playing time! Klay's washed. We've seen it all season long. Thankfully, he can perform in a limited bench role. That's what the data is showing us. Keeping him there, at least, is making some use of his bloated contract and ego.
Thomas Ogas
2024-03-10 22:02:38 +0000 UTCYeah I can’t do this anymore final rant of the season, first off the offensive game plan was sickeningly uncreative, the only player who got more play calls than “iso” or “PnR” was Klay, Wiggins was iso or PnR, CP3 was ISO or PnR, Moody whose points were far and between were all iso but his foul drawing wasn’t bad, if only we knew more about what he’s capable of but you didn’t play him until last week, Kuminga was all ISO but his play calls have always been unimaginative, but what tf should I expect when you didn’t think he could play until like 3 months ago and now you have a playbook clearly doesn’t account for the fact that he exists, POD was all iso and PnR but my issue with him is that he doesn’t want to shoot, my theory is that playing with curry in that starting lineup made him dependent, now he’s got it in his mind that “I can’t shoot lightly contested anymore because the core 3 could get a better shot,” he couldn’t rely on those guys from the bench unit, this is why I don’t give Kerr any credit for the young guys who have survived his crap, because you can’t say he had something to do with these guys improving when it’s so obvious they are STILL not being empowered. But you know what? Maybe letting ALL the young guys take these lumps now is acknowledgment that you are 10th seed and that you should have let the young guys take these lumps years ago. Either way, these are the top of the list things that I want fixed next season, I’m gonna save my blood pressure from here on. On that note pod to bench, Klay back to starting, rejuvenating pod is what I want to see so take his lifeline away and drop his minutes and hope he returns to early season Pod, if he keeps struggling oh well.
Sarcasm 360
2024-03-10 21:34:10 +0000 UTCI will die on the hill that JKs minutes are horrible. He needs to play 10+ minutes to start the game.
Vincent Zendejas
2024-03-10 21:32:11 +0000 UTCAs promising as the young guys have seemed, you always have to take it with a grain of salt, since everyone looks better with Steph Curry on the court. That aside, rookies are rookies, youth is youth -- they WILL have struggles from inexperience. As for Draymond, him finally getting his 3-ball going is great, but it also feels like it's too late, since the rest of his game is failing him as he ages. If Lacob is still ambitious about trying to be a contender next year, I would imagine that he would be willing to trade literally all of the vets except Steph, if it would get us the right pieces.
Neal X
2024-03-10 21:21:02 +0000 UTCThey are who we thought they were. Which is not good enough. The overhelping on defense is almost comical at this point it’s so inefficient. Steph Curry sure makes up for a lot of basketball sins on this team. Why do they have to be told to be urgent? Why doesn’t Steve Kerr call out the horrible defensive effort earlier in this game and call a time out and yell at these guys? Steve Kerr will be gone after Steph Curry is gone it’s pretty obvious.
Paul Hanson
2024-03-10 21:18:18 +0000 UTCGreat breakdown. I would also say with Steph out, kuminga and klay have to play more minutes. Brandon, Chris, and Andrew led the team in minutes the first half. Kerr can’t have jk and klay sitting out for over half of the quarters.

2024-03-10 21:13:42 +0000 UTCI don't know what is going on, but I clearly remember Klay dragging this team last year into the playoffs when Curry was injured. And, now he is literally locked into being bench player. So, let's not start Klay and let's put in CP3 for a 3rd playmaker and a low scorer as part of the starting line up. Oops, that didn't work. Kerr is incredibly proud, stubborn and stupid for thinking this would be a good idea to not have another 20pt+ scorer to replace Curry. The other coaches are timid or stupid for not voicing this. Kerr is providing a masterclass on how not to manage a team this season and last. Dubnation should not be shocked if Klay leaves for somewhere else in the off season. He deserves more respect and playing time than what Kerr is giving him. The narrative is utter garbage and last night was a piggyback dumpster fire from the Bulls game. Moody should take a page from Draymond's playbook and solidify his role on this team.

2024-03-10 20:47:48 +0000 UTCThe reason why just leaving someone open to shoot is effective has alot to do with the surprise factor a player feels and pressure to make wide open buckets.
