After I finished the base corset, I made all of the small scales individually out of 2mm EVA foam. They were all shaped with a heat gun, then I created a little ridge down the center to make a spine-like effect. They were then glued onto the corset one by one with E6000, then pinned into place while they dried. I staggered the layers as I went along.
The yellow belly scales I’m still working on, but they were makes from 5mm EVA, dremeled into shape then heat sealed. I’ll glue them onto the corset after I paint and primer the small scales, which I’m currently priming with flexbond and a small painting brush. This way I can get into all of the nooks and crannies I wouldn’t be able to reach with plastidip. I’ll also be putting down a purple base with my airbrush machine, then shade all of the scales by hand with acrylics.
