3 Warrior Trades

Comments

Give me Alpi!

Ryan Mitchell

I’m almost certain that Sengun trade wouldn’t happen especially with us and our assets. Sengun was in all star whispers, the rockets def think they have a all nba level center and I agree he has that potential

Aben

Hear you, I think that’s the draw is seeing what he can do knowing it might only cost some expirings and a 2nd or 2. Even if it’s just a body to get into the playoffs I’m not mad at it

Vincent

There's no way in hell I'm trading JK before the start of the season. I like what JK's been working on this off-season and I can see him developing into a decent enough ball handler who can bring the ball up the court. After watching the Olympics, I think the Warriors can run a lot more of the Steph JK inverted pick n roll esp if JK develops adequate handles to bring the ball up court.

Jimmy Ji

I like these ideas for the most part, especially Sengun. I'm pretty high on him and I'd definitely do that deal. You'd hope to see his 3P% increase in our system, and he'd have to at least try on D. He'd be our starting center and would be a real offensive threat. Grant Williams I'm good on. He's a solid front court player with good shooting, but just not a good locker room presence. Him and Dray? Nah I'm good lol. I like Ivey a lot, he's a really solid player, but it's just one too many guards, and we got Melton. Had we not gotten him, I'd go for Ivey, and to be fair Melton isn't very durable, but we also have Moody who like others have commented, we may be low on him but now is his chance to show us what he can really be.

Crimson

Sengun is nice but I'm worried running him out there with Draymond will make the court seem really crowded

Ben

It looks like the dubs/Dunleavy are prioritizing defense. That's where they broke down last year- playing 2 bad defenders a lot of minutes. Klay was horrid on defense last year (I don't think he got back in transition even once all season) and CP was somehow even worse than Poole. That's 60+ minutes of gimme matchups. They've been operating on addition by subtraction, getting rid of bad defenders and trying not to acquire any (in general - Hield is poots, but he's destined for the microwave role and limited minutes). Based on that, I think they'd avoid Sengun. If they make another trade, it'll be for a plus defender or at least someone with that upside. So Ivey: maybe? Grant Williams? Yeah. He's a guy that more than holds his own on that end. I still wish Kerr would play Moody, but they brought in 3 more guards; it feels like they're overloaded and need to trade for some frontcourt help.

Mike Peterson

I like the Sengun trade. Grant Williams, no.

Joan McErlean

Hey Alch - wouldn’t the Şengün trade rely on Wiggs playing in top form? Something would have to compensate for the defensive hit, no?

deb m.

As much as I'd love to see Kuminga hit his peak potential as a Warrior, it seems 50/50. I really liked Sengun in the draft and he even got taller which was one of the concerns, him being sabonis height and not close to a real 7 ft'r. I think i'd make the trade. Let Wigs try and get it back and Draymond has the smarts and renewed confidence in his 3 to work with Sengun having the ball a good chunk. Also, would be nice to always have 1 of Draymond or Sengun on the floor to be the big passer with Steph or the Podz

Stephen Genest

I'm 100% out on that Grant Williams trade. Yeah GP2 is injury prone but I'd argue both Moody and Payton have the potential to be more impactful than what Williams can provide on a night-to-night basis. What exactly can Grant do that Moody can't?

G

No one can say now that they wouldn’t give up JK for Sengun when they wanted to give JK, POZ, Moody and picks for Lauri, which is kinda the same player without the competitive spirit 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Jose poline

Grant Williams is POISON in the locker room! DAL turned around and shipped him the hell out right after signing him as a FA. HARD NO. Appreciate the Ivey idea, though. Very smart.

deb m.

This video started out confusing but got very interesting. I was expecting a second scorer but I saw Ivey and Grant Williams 😂 But yeah.. from a «GM building a solid team» perspective, I really like these proposals. I’d pull the trigger on Grant or Sengun out of the 3

FabsThefab

Jaden Ivey I can kiiiinda see it, but Moses is probably a more winning player than him right now, in way less minutes. They'd need to send a pick to US. Grant is just... nah man. I don't believe in that dude. Dallas ran him out of town, can't help but think they didn't like what they saw in him. Plus dude couldn't defend to save his life in dallas, at least according to their fanbase. And nooooo way I'm sending Kuminga AND a 1st to houston for Sengun. He's good but how much better is he than JK is/can be/could be with the same opportunity right now? A big that scores in the paint but can't shoot or defend. I'd say at least, the dubs need a scoring big that's an athlete.

Billy Roberson

Wigs for Sengun? Yeah I’ll take that… Immediately… Mike Dun get it done.. Jalen Green playing like he got a family to feed lol… That motivation unlocked a monster

Enzo Cree

Lol Especially after Kerr just coached Jrue Holiday and started him for most of the Olympics, I'm sure that's exactly what would happen.

Nick Elliston

nah we'd have to give up a bunch of picks for Alpy.. but I think he is one of the only younger star types that we know will fit the system and help steph rn

Athletic Alchemy

I hear you, Ivey is damn near a wing with his length and bounce.. there I ago sounding like Kerr tho lol

Athletic Alchemy

lol fair.. You are right about Mood, we very much could be selling way too low on him rn

Athletic Alchemy

Have we already considered Zach Levine?

Strong Foru

yeah I imagine it would cost JK and Picks

Athletic Alchemy

Yeah I got ATL circled.. but I have brought them up a bunch already. I think there is a deal to be made with them, Hunter too

Athletic Alchemy

Im not a Vuc fan.. I feel like he is a low stakes player, but when things matter he rarely shows up. But to be fair too him he hasn't had may opportunists to play when it matters

Athletic Alchemy

Grant Williams could be another dray. Sengun would be great addition, crafty big

Kevin Luong

What about Capela and Bogdanovic for Wiggins, Moody and GPII? Size, rim protection and rebounding with Capela. Creation chops and someone that can initiate off a secondary option and attack closeouts with Bogdanovic.

Omer Ali

Alch I wanna hear your thoughts on revisiting Vucevic. He’s gotta be cheap, can eat up those center minutes and not need to close games at least til the deadline when we really see what we have. At only 20 mil I kinda like it. Also what would he look like next to dray and on an actually good team?

Vincent

I’d prefer to get Isaiah Stewart from Detroit over Ivey, tbh.

Jeff Johnson

Bill Simmons LOVES Segun... I think that would be a great pickup for the warriors but at what cost? If it Kuminga and a pick or something i think it would be a net win for the warriors. I hope they do something atleast

Matt Hanna

I just can't see Ingram on the Dubs after how poorly Ingram performed under Kerr at last summer's World Cup. I think he even left the team before the medal round.

Nick Elliston

Interesting suggestions. Only one I have some disagreement with is Ivey (at least for now). I'm not against the Dubs taking a chance on him, but they have plenty of guards already. And as we all know, the last thing they need is to give Kerr another reason the play a 3 guard lineup. And despite the defensive concerns, I remember wanting the Dubs to take Sengun back in the 2021 draft at 14 before they ultimately selected Moody (Sengun was selected at 16 by OKC & traded to HOU). I do see the baby Jokic comps, but I also see Sengun filling the same role as ex-Warrior Zaza Pachulia but with more of a scorer's mentality.

Nick Elliston

Grand Williams looks the most possible and a good addition. I liked his competitiveness in Boston. Sengun is too good for Huston to give away in my opinion. Wish we could get him

Alex Kay

Grant Williams is that one office worker that makes coming to work miserable. No thanks. Don't mind the rest of the deals, but I just have this idea that Moody is more than meets the eye. He's had to sit behind Klay and so we haven't really had a chance to see him, but in that play-in game against Sac, he looked like the only player who really belonged in that game on the Warriors side. My money is on Moody starting and providing more than everyone thought he could. Melton is too small to play the starting 2 minutes, and Hield is is more like Hiel. Let's go Moses!

Evan Palmer

I do not like those first 2 trades at all. Seagun is who I would love to have on the Warriors

Solomon Oliver

Sengun would have to get to Jokic level offensive efficiency to justify him and Steph killing us defensively.

Hg80

Excellent ideas!

e40

Love the idea of Sengun but I don’t think Houston gonna do it. Call me crazy, I like the idea of a Ingram. Pencil in 20-25 per game, with us n who we have, it can be 22-28. Ingram is somewhere between KD n Demar.

JW

That Sengun deal is intriguing. Legit never heard of that. This is why we subscribe and pay. True thought out not regurgitated content! Great unique takes and ideas Unc

KendrickTheCreative

On the Ivey idea, we’d need to move GPII also to clear up the logjam at guard.

BruceWayne

We might just have to wait until December or January for a disgruntled star to become available…
