2024-11-21 00:33:24 +0000 UTCI was yelling the same comment you were about Zubac--we guarded homeboy like we were afraid he was going to give us 40, when in reality we probably could have gotten by with single coverage from TJD and make him shoot over the top. I was so surprised we didn't just have TJD mirror his minutes, b/c he didn't do too bad and for every bucket Zubac got, TJD got one back on the other end... so it was at parity IMO. What an extremely strange defensive scheme to run. If we're guarding Zubac like that, I'd hate to see how we intend to guard Anthony Davis--they might send the coaching staff out there to help from the weak side.

I was at the game and I didn't understand why we were so unwilling to attack Zubat and harden on offense. Also it felt like when we had Steph Wiggins or kuminga bring the ball up and attack we had way more players get open of there gravity for a 3, back cut or lob. We just kept having Draymond or Anderson bring the ball up and it made our defense feel stagnant cause they just stood there looking for someone to pass to.

What I have learned from Kerr coaching all these years is two things that he does not change. 1. He is in extreme experiment mode until the new year or end of Jan at the latest no matter if we winning or lossing. 2. Kerr is obsessed with making the non-eliye and Vets play their arrrrsenal off to get a minute. Experimenting, in search of match ups he could use in the play offs and playing their arrrrsenal off to build championship mentality so I am not concerned at all about athletic teams like LAC. We seembto forget last year with probably the worse team ever that he had, even with loosing 30+ games by 5 maybe 3 or less points. Most of which even a normal dysfunctional locker room would have been wins. Shall I remind how many games we we finished out of forth seed. You don't think this team will not perform light years above last year's? RELAX! Last year everything was negative energy. 1. The Punch 2. Techs seeking Refs 3. Extreme Shooting Foul disparity particularly against LAL. 4. Clamping JK & MM $$$ potential 5 Klay gaslighted for salary dump. 6. Steph burn out. None of that and more this year. I am excited and it's not even Christmas yet. 10 - 3

Now we getting to the line but can't convert FREE throws. My coach use to say when we missed them in a game to stay on the line until shotting them until the seem free. Missed FTs was the difference in the game

Elite - Steph and Dray Vets - Wiggs, GPII, Looney, Buddy, Slow Mo, Melton Ready to bust out with mistakes - JK, MM, LW and TJD New Bees - BP ½ the team has less than 2 years of playing time. They are doing well under the championship culture pressure. We not pass Chrismas yet. No need to panic or right platers off yet

I'd rather have them attempt a 2 pointer with people contesting(even if it's a mismatch) over a butt naked 3. i believe this defensive strategy is coached up, it's been happening for years. there's a reason why teams that are typically not a good 3 point shooting team are shooting the lights out against us. Now imagine when we are against a good 3 point shooting team.

Schroeder and Cam Thomas would also be nice pieces for a win now move. I think it would be worth considering mortgaging some of the longer term prospects as well as draft capital.

2024-11-20 00:16:13 +0000 UTCI disagree on the JK point. JK played very smart offensively and was creating as well as scoring. His free throws drive me nuts though. Defensively he made a couple of mistakes but he was mostly good and he had quite a few deflections on rebounds that won't count in the stats. He had a really good game and should have played more. People keep criticising his mistakes but how will he get them out without consistent minutes? This is the fourth year and Kerr will always find someone to play over JK Who will never be as good as him. it was Lamb, last year Wiggins was terrible but still played over JK until he revolted. Now Lindy. I love Lindy but him playing 30mins and taking 6 shots while JK plays 19 when he's playing well and being the only other creative threat other than Steph is why we will always have a JK problem

They need minutes to figure out what to do to limit those bad moments. Normally, they have already gone pass it by year 2 or year 3, but we waste the last 2 years nkt competing or developing. And now we get the good and the bad moments. Same thing with Podz struggles, the league know his strength and weaknesses now, that's why he struggles.

I doubt the dubs move off of loon or GP2 bc of history and how good they are in their roles… wont move off of slo Mo or buddy Can’t move off of wiggs unless you get back a Point of attack defender… Only person is melton to be added in there plus mood (Lindy and gui too if you need a little bit more contract $$) Getting you $31 mil if you trade all 5 of those players (melton, gui, podz, kuminga, mood) and that might be enough to get you a second star but at what cost to the roster Just something to think about If anyone has a realistic trade lmk!

The fact that Dubs have compromised players means that in crunch time and playoffs, those deficiencies will bubble up

The free throws, while unfortunate, would not have been the difference with an actual gameplay. Ty plans for the game and the specific opponent. That's his biggest advantage over Kerr in the regular season. When they're playing us, every single guy - EVEN HARDEN - is waiting for the Dray-Steph pass. I'm glad you called that out. Kerr had no answers - still! And Ty Lue has been running this scheme for years now.

I think we can and should switch more, these double teams off the ball screen, teams are countering that. Lastly, Moses and JK both have poor feel on both ends. The potential is there but theres a difference between playing hard and playing smart. Moses, why are u attached to Mann two steps behind the 3-point line? JK, why are you not distance managing Powell? It's things like that where they dont get the playing time we all want em to get.
