Send Steph to the Knicks--and the infamous "Play 5 guys 48 minutes" Tom Thibodeau--to (literally!) end his career? To be a microwave scorer off the bench? Not sure that makes any sense. Thibs has no use for a 6th man. So Steph would either ride the pine, or play 48 minutes. Think I'm kidding? Look up the Knicks players' minutes in each playoff game.

My post in Slater’s Athletic article comments:
“I realize Steph has never even hinted at asking out to go win somewhere else, most likely as a microwave 6th man/closer for a contender. But how far away are we from this mutually beneficial hoops and business decision? Dray and his salary, too?
Or does the FO stay with the Kobe/Lakers retirement tour approach for both, continuing to sell tix through mediocrity or even less, clearly zero hopes or plans for any meaningful winning in the playoffs with “mid” rosters?
What immediate rebuilding assets would come back in return for either/both Steph & Dray? Is it arguably best for their careers, best for the league, and also best for the Dubs future to make these emotionally difficult moves?
Could Dray help his home town Detroit squad reach the top tier as his final chapter?
Could Steph capture the biggest stage at MSG to help put the Knicks over the top? Does he have any inner flame to do such a thing as his final chapter?
Or just keep on paying top salary slots and selling tickets thru the assured team decline toward their retirements?
Tough decisions ahead for all of Dubs Nation, for both of these legends!”

If we're talking fantasy trades, the dream would be Myles Turner or Bam. Barring that, I still say Vucevic -- a stretch big opens up so much; even if he's a traffic cone on defense, at least he'd be a BIG traffic cone who gives us 15-20 a night + rebounding. If we can get him for bench warmers + picks that would be ideal, if we have to give up a main piece, I'd be willing to give Looney up, or Draymond. The other guy I might be eyeing is Yabusele, but I don't know if he's available.

You could argue Wiggs has been our best defender this year so that would probably seriously hurt our defence. Especially, that he's usually guarding the best players and is one of those guys who can seriously lock-up MVP caliber stars, such as Luka for example. KD is a fantastic scorer yeah, but I wouldn't trade Wiggs for him at this point in his career.

Hope you feel better soon, Alch! Lots of rest, bone broth or chicken soup (just in case they won’t give you antibiotics).
Really enjoying your channel!
I actually really enjoyed the first half play by the Dubs. It made a difference that Steph and Dray actually came out the gate racing, which they almost never do. I would look at that as a concession towards playing closer to Kuminga’s style. But I also don’t care if they go championship or not. I actually hope they let go of that, I think they will play better together as a team if they take the pressure off. And they might end up with a shot at it whether they want it or not.
Trayce is on fire still, Kuminga got to work right away, and Draymond was able to be effective defensively.
I forgot how crappy the refs were until I watched your breakdown, but if the league wants gambling revenue instead of television screens, there’s not much we can do to change that. Actually makes the Warriors more heroic for having to play through that!
Schröder will get there, I love the crafty defense, even without GP II there. I’m hoping he can help Buddy out and help him get his groove back.
The team actually looked pretty good in team play for the first half, but I dreaded the adjustment Kenny was going to make. And Kerr looked exhausted , so I didn’t think he had much more than he had already put out. Do we prefer this team losing with the 8-9 man rotation or the 12-13 man rotation? I think Kerr needs the 12-13 because otherwise he’s stuck with players who are having an off night and that’s almost everyone, every night.
Wish Podz had been able to play, his motor and refusal to give up until the final buzzer is so important to keeping a team like this going when they’re will and energy start to fade. One of the reasons why he closed so much last year, he never says die!
I did not want Steph and Dray back at the end. At that point, it should have been clear that you use the younger players and Moody at the 3 because he could actually make a shot last night. Trayce, Kuminga, Moody, Wiggs, Spencer. Energetic lineup with rim protection, some outside shooting, and an unpredictable point guard that the Cavs haven’t seen yet, but who could really scramble their defense. All Kerr really has at this point is the element of surprise, and young legs. They should use that more often at the end of the game where you are losing anyway and Steph and Draymond are not scoring anyway.
At this point, it is starting to feel like Kerr insists on using Steph’s gravity because Kerr can’t play make without it. Everytime Steph and Dray aren’t playing, he’s telling the youth to play hard and do their best, and for some reason, they get a better outcome. There have to be some analytics on that!
Fingers crossed Dray and Steph can’t play next game!

Think UNC right.
1. Buddy cooked. Try Moody with those mins.
2. Really think we need a wing that can score. Be it LaVine, Kuzma, etc get them asap. It's too much for Steph at this age to do it alone.
3. Wouldn't mind Valcunias (9M) or Vuevic (20 min). Both score, but Vuevic is more of a threat with 3pt shot. And him doing it from 3pt opens the lane for our slashes (JK, Wigs). That would help this horrible offense we have right now.

It’s actually more work for Steph when the ball is in his hands, they would be pressing 94 feet if he had the ball all the time. Turnovers increase when he has the ball, even when it’s supposed to be pick and roll. That’s way more work than hiding on offense or moving off ball.

No moves, but I think Steph would rather go out with teammates he wants to be around, he talks about that a lot.
Lacob doesn’t need to blow it up as long as Steph is a Warrior, they will all still make an insane amount of money as long as Steph plays.

The reffing was bad. It might have been unnecessary since none of the Warriors shots were falling. And it’s soul crushing to play your heart out, but realize it won’t matter because they are not going to let you win anyway. People wonder why players “load manage” all the time. It’s actually a miracle Steph can still keep his head up knowing how all of the momentum is against him all the time. Maybe that’s why he cares more about the people he gets to play with rather than whether they win another championship or not?

Definitely shades of 2017, except we were the ones getting globetrotted on, wondering "who were those supervillians?" As we enter '25 I think its clear that the Dubs are at a crossroads. Steph and Dray cant carry this team any longer, and JK can be special but he will probably start peaking at about the time the OG's are making retirement speeches. So either we accept mediocrity as the new standard or we make a risky but necessary move: i.e. sell high on the future.

I think the most enviable thing about the Cavs meteoric rise is the decentralization of their identity. Even if you break it down by offense and defense they are still lead by tandems rather than individuals. Considering the spurs were lead by Duncan and the Warriors had Steph, I’m not sure if I can think of a more team first 1 seed in my lifetime. It’s at least a far cry from the Cleveland Lebron Jameses of yesteryear.

Once Draymond decides a teammate isn't worthy, he finds that player's psychological edge and hits him there, and that player never gets back to full strength in a Warrior uniform. KD, JP, let's just admit Buddy's done now. He might've had value while riding the "Steph plays with joy" train, but that train only carries the extra thick skinned. Trade him.

If we had only traded JK for Cam Johnson, we'd have beaten the 27-4 Cavs by 10, and Steph would have gone for 30! There are dudes on Twitter talking crazy like that. We were never going to beat these guys. They outclass us. The positive for me was JK's motor. He did not shoot well, but he was going hard at it. He hung a bunch of fouls on both Mobley and Allen, got to the line 14 times, making 71%, and grabbed 10 boards. He was competing out there while others looked lost. We would have had a puncher's chance if Steph, Lindy, and Buddy could have hit their 3s.

Trade everyone not named JK, fire Kerr and rebuild. This shit is just treading water and letting Steph play out his contract.
I'm not as concerned about Buddy, this is always the Buddy experience he's streaky and inconsistent. Such role players often end up looking worse in this system because the style of play is actually quite rigid and the roster construction so flawed.

Thank you Mr. Curry for the moments you gave us true warriors fans. You, Klay Dray and so many others provided a dynasty that no one could’ve predicted. But it’s time, time to put our focus on Kuminga, TJD, and either moody or Podz. If we give them the keys and let them progress now. Maybe we can get back to competing in Curry’s last year or 2 with the franchise. I truly hope we don’t make the same mistake that the lakers did with Kobe because it’s clear that Steph isn’t that guy. And there isn’t a trade available to become the favorites out west, let alone compete against Celtics and cavs. Im not sure if Kuminga is a number 1 but he’s young deserves the opportunity to prove if he is. Steph can still be an effective sixth man as long as he wants to play basketball. Imo the best PG to ever lace them up. But we wouldn’t call any player a superstar who’s providing this. His name is just Steph Curry

Dont understand why the young ones, sitting on the end of the bench, like TALL Quentin Post, dont get some experience in a trash game like this. Seems to me if you are loosing like this and playing like this, the saving grace is to allow the young ones to get some playing time, (cause they are definitely not going to get time is a close game).
Oh wait, we dont do that here at Warriors central; if you are young you dont get the game time experience you need and if you want to play, and if you are young, you better have that proof of experience.
