Warriors vs Pistons

Comments

Our starting lineup + Kevon - klay would be pretty much the same. Bench would have GP2 who was also on the team, a better kuminga who was also on the team, and some good depth in Anderson and shroeder and podz. Not too different other than loss of klay (first season of Achilles) and Poole

Sevrin Weiss

Happy, It would be interesting and great reply post btw. For the rest of my life I'll never understand the Steph whistle. Did your parents watch Happy Hairston play for the Lakers when they won 33 in a row?

Russ

This is not the same team. If it were we would have more than one- three players from back then starting each night.

Irritated Inanimate

I’ve been using this line about watching the game with the volume turned off for other people. Talk about making people depressed immediately

Irritated Inanimate

Wiseman.

Point Gawd

We can sense how important kuminga was to the team after these past few games.

keller dan

lol i meant its the pants that the big booty girls always where

Athletic Alchemy

I have to apologize, Alch, I’ve been so busy appreciating your breakdown and analysis, I’ve neglected to really savor the humor and entertainment. All other analysts are dry as hell! And it’s not like you’re trying to perform, it’s like watching a game with your boys and that one guy always muttering hella funny shit to himself. Did you mean big booty or big boot-ie? Because he was wearing the boot? Jokes aside, this was a fun game. Nothing is more entertaining to me than Fitz finding something, anything! to get excited about because these games go so poorly half the time. And when he decided to make Gui the star of the game, and the bench enthusiastically cheered for Gui, it made the game much easier to enjoy, even towards the end when it looked like it was slipping away. And much better than commenting on Draymond’s performance since it was hometown game. But I’m tired of hearing Kerr apologize for not playing Gui, for forgetting Looney. That all sounds like Kerr admitting that he’s at least myopic in his coaching and at most doing a horrible job. I’m not a coach, but I don’t know how you forget about the rest of your roster when the team is nosediving as often as it is. At least in the beginning of the season, his rationale for a larger rotation made sense. His current approach is yielding worse outcomes and too many surprise pieces of good news, albeit inconsistent performances. Keep all the players together, sequester them from their families, and drill them on their play until they adopt a single hive mind. Get someone to smudge or bless Chase Center. Adopt a Heat culture mentality. Do something! I keep coming back to the thought that we actually do have a team full of dawgs, but they are being “gentled” by this culture. I think that’s why Draymond is so wildly out of pocket, he’s overcompensating to keep his edge. Podz came out wild, but controlled from the start, but they put him down hard this year. JK has been teetering back and forth, probably because they say yes, be aggressive, but also, no you need to do it this specific way. Lindy is secretly aggressive, like he’s learned to hide it better, but you can see the games when he lets it out to match the energy of the opposing team. If the opposing team is smoother and less fiery, Lindy gets lulled to sleep and puts the dawg away. Spencer is very intense, we saw him get teched once, would not be surprised if we see him yelling at people at some point in the future. Something to think about.

Irritated Inanimate

Not yet. Give Spencer as much time in game as Podz had last year, see if other teams adjust to him and how, that will tell you if he’s actually better. Podz benefited a lot when no one knew who he was and didn’t take him seriously. But “League Leader in Charges” as a rookie woke everyone up.

Irritated Inanimate

Is Spencer a better scorer and pg than poddy

Jello Smooth

The best on the team seem to be Looney and BP in tracking the shot so they can anticipate where to get position for maximum rebound success. Consider this requires leveraging techniques, good foit work, strength and eye to ball coordination and plenty reps to perfect it. I don't know if JK has played enough against bigger and stronger 4s to become good at it during his NBA tenure and suspect he never had to do so prior because of his athleticism. Looney has had years focused on perfecting this rebounding skill. JK likely will focus on defense this summer but GSW really has dine JK and Moody an injustice the amount of minutes they have played to develop over their 4 years. I believe if Alc runs an effective and meaningful minutes breakdown of JK and Moody against stars in their draft class, it was yield that they played half the years. I like Alc honest and often brutal breakdowns as they show what is real. I often tell my son and hisbfriends to watch the nba without siund and ignore the refereeing as the NBA is a scripted business, focused on $$$$ and not the best quaality it can produce. If we don't believe this ask yourself where would steph sit in the Top 10, if he was not one of the lowest FT beneficiaries of all active superstars during his tenure. What if he just got the average of what the good players in the league got. Would he be ahead of LBJ. Would he 5 or 6 Chips already? What if per contact on drives Steph at 91% (FT%), he got the same attempts as LBJ at 73.6% Consider, LBJ is the face but is he truly a better player than Steph? Yeah yeah I hear the report but Lillard is a similar high volume 3s player who averages near twice as much as steph. It would be interesting to learn what these meaningful advance stats yield and how they can potentially change the results if Steph got the same treatment. Just Asking!

Dale Happy Knowles

Between the “my god” and the big booty pajamas 🤣🤣🤣 the impromptu Alch non basketball commentary is comedy man

Yungdoms

Being an engineer it seems logical to equate Basketball Shoes with Race Care Tires. Just like there are optimal car/tire set ups for maximum performance, so is there optimal Steph/shoes setup for maximum performance. RB just don't seem to get it right. Step is not a typical jumper but s hard cutter/change of direction kind of player. They need to have multiple grades of grip shoes and Steph pit chief need to help himbselect the right shoe for the specific court he is playing on that night. For a $60m man,, this is unacceptable. The risk they put Steph at.ŕ

Dale Happy Knowles

Playing basketball with a hairpiece on live tv is not for the faint of heart lol

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

Steph and Draymond aged 2 years... that means way more than you think. Also, Beli and Otto Porter were huge pieces in 22, they're still unappreciated by a lot of the fanbase. Size and veteran skill.

Neal X

Man I was on the court wearing em curry fox 1s, boy u right. It felt dangerous. Made a move then turned my ankle a bit. Defensively, I dont feel confident I can stay in front of anybody. Tbf, that indoor court was dusky. So maybe its unsafe regardless what im wearing. However, ive played in dusty courts before. Aint no shoe ever made me feel like that. Sheesh.

JW

I hope Schröder doesn’t want to leave, if he does it would be more confirmation of my fears for this team

Irritated Inanimate

Watch 7:15 left in the 2nd Q. Santos shows what a rebounder does when a shot goes up. I just wish JK with his quickness and leaping ability would learn from Santos. JK would be a monster.

Russ

“my god” at 8:55 has me in stitches

Paul Cox

The more I watch this team, the more I find myself not thinking: “wow they are bad they should be playing better” and more so thinking: “how in the fuck did we win it all in 22?!?” Like seriously, how are that team and this team THAT far apart? seriously insane we won that year given the team doesn’t seem THAT much better than this team (on paper).

Sevrin Weiss

No FR! I want this man balling like prime Rondo when he come back 🤣

TJ Maccc

When I seen Slow Mo lil hair piece flopping around I burst out laughing cuz I immediately knew you was gone say something on the breakdown 🤣 thanks Unc, per usual, for never disappointing lol

TJ Maccc

Time to trade for Jimmy or zion

Shachar Sharon

Was cool seeing Gui get a chance

John Z

Hilarious the white kid can’t catch a style break! Maybe I can lend him my glasses? Mini Rambis??? I’m onto something!

Chip Tingle

Add a strong 6’6” to all that is Cade! Damn I’d love to see him or a clone help Steph end his career.

Chip Tingle

IN GUI WE TRUST! https://youtu.be/HeHgzymbOrw?si=CkxxeLa8c5Us9u_E

Chip Tingle

El DeBarge is a deep cut, bro

Jim

the very two guys that changed the entire dynamic of this organization and took us from a 1st rd exit team to championship contenders? Yea fuck those guys lmao

Ballin Forever

Yes I was clearly saying, we as a franchise have had a hard decade. Imbecile.

Vulacior

We really got a new franchise player in Gui. Nah but fr I always liked Gui, I remember watching him and seeing how good he was going rumbling downhill. I trust his shot so if he really is gonna stretch the floor I want him in the rotation.

Diego

Brooo the Kuminga big booty pajamas comment took me TF out! 🤣🤣

Pablooo

This fanbase hasn't had much to enjoy and cheer for recently, so it's hard not to root for Gui. He may not be the most skilled or best player, but he tries hard all the time. He's just a fun player to watch.

Captain Rossco

Wiggins girl is having a baby Id be disappointed in him if he didn't miss this game for that

Branden Edwards

LOL. yeah how did we ever survive such a terrible decade? poor us.

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

I knew Gui wasn’t playing this season when he came out with the Zorro mustache

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

I think Melton was a bit of a scapegoat tbh. He was a great "potential" fit in less than a month, but the mentality thing you're speaking on was just another example of Steph/Steve/Draymond latching onto players who can help them recreate the starting 5 of the glory days. It helped us in the long run to lose Melton

yan't get right

Didn't realize Gui was that good. If he's gonna play like that, he's realistically like our 5th best player lol. It doesn't hurt that he's 6'8 either, which is something we've desperately needed for years now.

Crimson

A few thoughts: -The moment that Steph decides his priority is only to be the warriors closer, night in and night and out, I truly think we can be in championship contention this year. He's the most beloved superstar on the planet, this world is his to create. His leadership is of his own choosing, and the team will follow him. If he wants to prioritize "feeling good" about his shooting on a nightly basis, we're gonna suck. -Cade is REAL. If you're a hooper, you can see that out of all the young players in the league he's got the ultimate game. Pace, decision making, skill and little bit of wiggle to it. It's crazy. He's like a 90s throwback. I'm excited for his future man. -The Buddy and Draymond accountability storyline is some real shit! I love when I see men learning how to understand each other after public disagreements. We're going to need Buddy to continue to lock in and Draymond to continue to hold the standard. -Glen Rice shoutout was hilarious 😂😂😂

yan't get right

start Gui, JK, SloMo, Loon, Schroeder

Sqk

"Why is Kuminga in big booty pajamas?" 💀

Andrew Lee

Unrelated - but podz needs to come back with a fresh cut and some waves or something i don’t wanna see that shit on his head anymore

Elvis

At the very least it looks like we should be able to retain Gui at a team-friendly deal next year as a solid end of bench energy/3pt shooter kinda guy

Abhi Kelkar

I think Curry snatched it to give it to Gui

Thomas Ogas

Fuck Kerr. Fuck Draymond. Over a decade of those clowns.

Vulacior

he said postgame that he gave it to Gui

Abhi Kelkar

there must've been some sort of mental collapse when Melton went down. My theory is him and Steph really bonded on the bench when they were recovering in the preseason and the team looked so good in Melton's limited minutes in the starting/closing lineup that it really hit Steph's mentality hard as far as being competitive this season

Abhi Kelkar

That's a lottery team if I've ever heard one lmao

Vulacior

So nice to see Gui out there and it wasn't just a cameo. He was our best player last night. More please! He gave us exactly what I'm always wishing Moody did. Max effort on D, fighting for every extra possession, take the open shots, make the easy pass. That wait-for-the-trailer thing was a great call out. Simple, smart basketball. Like you said, the only mistakes he made were system mistakes - hunting Steph. Ironically, those mistakes probably earn him more minutes. It's been a while since we saw him, but remember he also has a pretty good handle and deceptive game around the rim. Maybe he'll get another chance to show out tonight.

Mike Peterson

i think steph looked a little sped at times and like he made his mind up on some possessions on the inbound. Love what I saw with Santos, felt like i haven't seen him in a month.. has he gotten better with a month of nba practice? maybe

Chris Styner

Have no idea on what the money situation looks like but is there any validity in trying to acquire The Caveman aka Steven Adams? Feels like there’s a universal agreement not to challenge him in the paint

Brian Yong

Lol Who would've thought a young athletic player like Gui would bring some life to their game? Maybe this team needs to get younger and start thinking about the future and how Steph can reinvent his game to support the next generation instead of stunting their next generation for Dray to throw hail marys to Steph.

Dr. Sanjin

It’s so weird how different the vibes are from the beginning of the season. It looked like we had a SQUAD. Buddy couldn’t miss, slomo looked incredible, tjd was looking great, gp2 bouncy, melton looked like the perfect klay replacement, 22 wiggz showing up, stackhouse had our defense looking like a string with no more collapsing in the paint for open threes. wtf happened lol. If you had told me the only roster change we’d make is to swap an injured melton Dennis Schroeder I’d think we’d be ready for a deep run this year. It’s so weird

Connor H

This is the confidence boost that Gui needs. He has a great player inside, his handle his attitude and all that, but he was trashed by Kerr system like Moody like Podz. Hope Gui broke free and be himself on the court finally. I always dream of Gui at the point. Lindy at the 2, Moody at 3, Kuminga at the 4 and TJD at 5 for our future. Podz as the backup point.

Natto Santo

too early to say

Athletic Alchemy

Hey Alch, what's your opinion of keeping Schroder beyond this year?

Jimmy Ji

Every time a reporter asks Steve Kerr a question about anything other than the fact that he is brain dead a criminal act is happening. -Awful Coaching

Goku44

I like Moses moody but I’ve learned dude can only score moody doesn’t have handles doesn’t rebound good can’t pass doesn’t really play defense moody not scoring he’s doing nothing

BASEDTEXAS18

Curry keeping the game ball? Maybe a memento for "let's not play this bad again" type thing

theycallmemiyagi

That's a coaching choice. Not a roster issue

Anthony English

Forget Moses moody I be wondering why Kerr doesn’t give Kyle and looney minutes but I trust Steve Kerr always

BASEDTEXAS18

Having that pick and pop option with Gui gives us a different look. Man i really believe going to get a stretch 5 would open this offense up especially when the slash bros return.

Ballin Forever

"El Debarge." That killed me!! I agree let's give Santos some energizer bunny minutes. Maybe we've got the stretch forward on the roster already...

Bobby D

I loved watching Gui Santos impact the game. Better late than never. He does seem to be a bigger body, active energy dude with very good looking stroke-even though he hasn’t had much playing experience on this squad. I think he played in the Olympics so it’s not like he has no experience.

Paul Hanson

"Why is Kuminga in big booty pajamas?"🤣🤣 I have a feeling the Pacers are going to smash us tonight. GSW always seems to have problems with the Pacers and Pistons.

Solomon Oliver

That last Kuminga comment certainly threw me off, anyway the league gotta do sum about back to backs every damn game I watch one or both teams are on a back to back and watching a team on a back to back play is just flat out boring and these days you know they’re going to lose

Sarcasm 360

I understand injuries and Wiggins was out but a starting lineup of Curry, Hield, and Schroder? The construction of this roster is terrible.

Goku44

The Gui game.
