You (or Kerr) can't have it both ways. Play JK (a 3, not a 4) and Moody (a 2, not a 4) out of position for 3 years and then use that to claim that's why they can't get minutes, then play Podz out of position (he's a PG, not SG), then claim that's why he DOES get minutes. Moody is the 2 that Podz is playing over, after 3 years of Moody not being allowed to make any mistakes and while Podz makes just as many. . . . In the matter of fairness, it doesn't matter than player X plays position Y while player A plays position B. If the coach benches player X for mistake 1, but lets player A play through mistake 1, when both are young players with little NBA track record, that's a bad coach. Bad for the player's development, and bad for team success. And looking at the Dubs the last few years, they've had little player development and little team success. Coincidence?

Maybe Kerr called that time out at the end because he wanted to advance the ball to midcourt and not give Minnesota a chance at a close shot on a steal.

Serious BS from the fans, imo. Any hoop mind knows how incredibly different their roles are on this team, and which teammates may be in front of them for minutes. Podz has zero to do with minutes for either Moses or JK.
Stop the BS.
Or do you want MM & JK at PG or SG in this offense?!

Our competitions ourself
Steph seem to get board and just non-challantly throw away too many possessions at crucial points of the game.
It's almost as if he thinks he still have the firepower around him to make up ay margin and he might be right if Kerr use JK better, Wiggs adds a little nasty to his polite game, and they and keep Buddy mins so he does not loose his form for wobbly legs.
If we do this the D will go up even higher.

No one is blaming Podz. Or, at least, I'm not blaming Podz. But sports teams are basically supposed to be meritocratic. Bad organizations and bad coaches deviate from that. If Kerr is viewed as playing favorites, even if its just "I like players that remind me of me," that's really damaging. AND, if a coach playing favorites does so in a way that allows a reasonable person to wonder whether there is a racial component--that definitely can't be good for team morale. That's not Podz fault. But its not fair to JK, Moody, or the fans, either.

I think Moody and Kuminga deserve better from Kerr, I’ve said many times how detrimental he’s been to player development and that I don’t care if Moody didn’t earn his money, because Kerr has been messing with the money for both of them.
That said, I’m not going to blame Podz for his coach putting him in and that kid making the most of his opportunity, that’s what he’s supposed to do. And he doesn’t take it for granted, a lot of people mistake his confidence as entitlement. The difference is that you can go up to Podzzand challenge him and he will say, “challenge accepted,” every single time. He will not make excuses and he’s always communicating with his teammates.
He can’t control how Kerr uses him anymore than Kuminga or Moody can.
I also frequently discuss Kerr’s mismanagement of the team, I believe he prioritizes Steph’s performance as opposed to the team winning and it’s a huge reason why most of his decisions make no sense from the standpoint of the fans. And while I’m not happy that Moody doesn’t get as much run (Kuminga’s graduated), I think the fact that Kerr gives Podz so much run is ultimately a good thing because he will develop faster. He’s definitely the point guard coming off the bench, he has the potential to be more, and I believe he could replace Draymond as the heart of the team, so faster development would be good.
Ready for your comments and concerns.

My concern is Kerr stuffs him into minutes others have shown they should be playing, and that upsets the rhythm of the team. It can't be positive that Podz gets what looks like favoritism to make dozens of mistakes, but one mistake and JK or Moody are nailed to the bench. If Kerr continues that pattern, Podz return is going to be a net negative.

Moses heard you coming for him, Alch! But that’s usually what it takes.
I’m glad they all came out and were honest about where they are and what they hope to do. I’m hoping it takes the pressure off the other players, but obviously they need to continue to preach team growth and success as opposed to get Steph his fifth ring.
Buddy tied or had the most steals and blocks for the last two games, let’s have some appreciation for the effort and energy he’s been putting into his play. He’s probably harder on himself than anyone else is.
I like the idea of trying Moody at the 4. These are the types of player fit adjustments Kerr should be making to maximize each player’s abilities.

I agree 100% with your criticism of Kerr, but it’s worth noting that these are the same faults/weaknesses Kerr had three years ago, five years ago, and ten years ago. Your suggested replacements make my case for me. Stackhouse last coached in college (record 9-23); Terry Stotts is renowned for losing in the first round of the playoffs even when he had talented teams; Mike Brown seems like a really smart guy but his time in SacTown demonstrates that he doesn’t have what it takes to lead an NBA team. You seem to suggest that anybody would be better than Kerr. That’s where I get off the ‘dump Steve’ train.

I think Kerr is the best coach for Steph & Draymond. But I personally think JK & Podz would thrive under a young, intense kinda coach. TBH, if Steve, Steph & Dray would leave tomorrow, I think our personnel lends itself to being the type of all-in feisty team that wins some young guy a coach of the year award. The team wouldn’t be “better”. And the coach r wouldn’t be “better” than Kerr. But I do think that Steve is a mismatch for most of the roster.

Alc I put it to you Steph and his crew has been at war internally with management and ownership on the way forward and though Steph is the ultimate professional in public speaking, I dont believe in the slightest, that Steph aint turn the tables a
What I believe happen is the players led by Steph were silently protesting and now management had an Epiphany which the players reacted tl.
I love the squirmish between GPII and Buddy because it tells me both are not dead but passionate. I believe your assuption is correct that the GPII was not having a non D player call him out but its not because Buddy shit up the court but because its its a public call out of a superior D player.
I give Buddy credit for being locked in so much that he felt in the spur of the moment, to allow his leadership skill to innocently take center stage. Dray have 4 and Buddy none so I guest its ok for Dray to do it but Buddy not.
Hmmm!
What is important is that they jumped on it, acknowledge it, learnt from it and moved on.
Gui last night is what I expected Slow Mo to be to the offence in facilitating. If any are to be traded its Slow Mo. Gui and Post should be a collective upgrade. Jonas is still my choice for this team at this time and Vucevic if we prepared to move Moody and Slow Mo with picks. GSW already have 3 20 pt scores besides Steph I Wiggs, JK and Buddy. Kerr just need to reduce Buddy usage as he plays too hard to play the minutes Kerr has him playing
Mooses may be a super 4 if he can gain some weight (not lbs) over the summer.
Steph obvious is still periodically disoriented without Klay so when he has Looney and GP|| on his side he is at peace. Both just reach back. GSW would be stupid to trade any of the 3 of them as they facilitate Steph at his efficient best.
I am not sure if anyone noticed but Dennis played really fast and ran some good pick and rolles with TJD being more aggessive.
Wiggs is still the #2 and do some good things but really is to light for 3 and definitely 4. Even his aggressive self is soft.
Healthy I see the playoff starters being.
1. Steph
2. Wiggs
3. JK
4. Dray
5. Looney (TJD if he is aggressive and not light)
Backup
1. Dennis
2. Buddy
3. Santos
4. Slow Mo
5. Post

Mike Brown. Jerry Stackhouse. Stotts. That enough names to start? . . . I think they should've kicked him upstairs at the end of last year, because they should have learned from the Iggy experience that begging someone to not retire rarely leads to team success. But they didn't learn that lesson. That said, I, like most people, like a redemption story. If Steve Kerr can accept that small ball is dead because mobile bigs and fast and long wings are now league-wide and the offense has been scouted out the wazoo already, can accept that varying the offense by sprinkling in some JK is a good thing and will help save Steph, and is open to REGULARLY playing the young guns so we get some development regardless of what happens this year, then I'm fine with Kerr. But trotting out the same stale offense like Steph-Dray two man game, and expecting us to all applaud because he won some titles in the past . . . I'll applaud the past when they honor my 2021-22 ticket for the NEXT Lakers game. If they want new money and applause from me, put out a contemporary product, not a stale one based on an NBA that no longer exists.

I don’t mind the hero ball if Steph feels it, but when it gets in the way of the strategy for winning the game down the stretch, it’s a problem.
Like that Rockets Cup game where he took that last shot too early, that interfered with the winning strategy which was to hold the ball as long as possible to run down the clock.

I'm perfectly fine with giving Steph every final shot of a game, but let his teammates get him those shots, let the coaching get him those shots, and then he can do a hero ball play here and there. But these 2 and a half minute stretches of him "getting in his bag" (more like a phanny pack at his age), are just killing our execution completely.

When Kerr is up off the bench coaching and fired up he’s a better coach. He is always ass when he is the coach that sits on his ass the whole game.

Alch the timeout does make sense because it advanced the ball. If the wolves picked it off, they're 40 feet from the basket with 1 second on the clock instead of right under the hoop

That's the coaching energy we need for sure! Man, that third quarter Ref-a-thon was so boring; glad I stuck it out.

that conference between GP, buddy & Shcroeder at the 3pt line was funny af. I think Alch is right though, both of them have the loveable idiot persona so doubt its a problem moving forward

Just checked the standings and we are only 5 losses from #3 in the west. At about halfway through the season, a lot can still happen from here on out. Draymond should be moved to the bench permanently from here on out.

I had about 5% faith that they were gonna win after the 24 point lead, but props to them for handling the momentum swing well each time Minny got closer. Shoutout Wiggs for the clutch FTs at the end.
After hearing Steph and Steve's comments after the L in Toronto, it seemed like they were kinda packing it in, but clearly not after what Steph had to say last night (literally and figuratively lol).
So yea, I agree with you, I do think they're gonna make a run just like they did last year around this time, the question is, can they actually get Steph some help this time around? Can the coaching staff lock in? Will our role players play better? That's what I'm concerned about, but we'll see! Good breakdown fam.

Alc Kerr's late game stuff has BEEN a problem. Even when they were winning championships. Think about it...

I feel like a lot of good things clicked last night. Like gui lookin fly asf, shröder not stagnating the offense, curry lookin like curry, buddy did fairly well, and wigs lookin like he’s back in 22. So big picture I think those are a lot of good things

Steph looks different, I think he’s starting to find a want, 4 of his 7 30 pt games in the last few, feels like we might be finding that second wind but what move(s) do we need to make to really be contenders?
