Warriors vs Kings GM-43

Comments

2025 seems to be a pretty good draft. Warriors luckily could get a 10th pick. Before trading for Vucevic, you have to play Post heavy minutes.

CarlosPT

I am intrigued to see Post as a 5, Santos as a 4 and Kuminga. I’m sure he will shine playing alongside 2 threats from the 3 line.

CarlosPT

What about playing Curry, Moody, Kuminga, Santos and Post? Kuminga could be the playmaker, with 4 guys open ready to shoot, opening the floor for Kuminga.

CarlosPT

The young guns are playing freer. That could easily stop when Dray gets back. He has a way of really reducing the level of freedom and joy, with his Steph hunting on offense and with turning even an even-handed ref against the Dubs. He is more trouble than he's worth and the Dubs need to move on from Dray.

Point Gawd

Yeah. I'm in favor of trading him again, along with Buddy. Just get size and athleticism.

Neal X

i know you thought dennis would be a good addition but i was sceptical from the start. the roster and his playstyle just clash too much

Johnny Marko

Those turn overs were brutal. There just was not enough of the Warriors punishing the Kings for those traps on Steph.

Windfury

So we lost because of TOs? Is that it?

Sqk

Are we about to get a chance to see JK as a starter with Gui as the 4 now that Gui can space the floor and it would only be TJD as the non shooter? Or is Draymond coming back before him only to restore the status quo that doesn't work anymore?

George Ambruster

That's a fact, but also that's the problem. Dray is an elite specialist - a stopper at the small ball 5, but at this point in his career, he's only a 16 game player. He can't play that role during the season because he's too fragile. During the reg, he's a slightly above average defender (due to a lack of effort), an offensive liability at the 4. His play is inconsistent and his availability is poor. At this point, he's a luxury we can't afford, both in minutes and dollars. Why carry a playoff-only player when you're on the bubble? He'd be an amazing playoff asset for a soft team full of jump shooters like the Celts.

Mike Peterson

Another frustrating loss, but I'm just so happy for Gui. Draft and stash pick in 2022, spent a full year in Santa Cruz before getting signed last year with a couple good moments, played for Brazil in the Olympics, and now producing with more minutes. If I'm not mistaken, I think Gui was also Bob's final pick before handing the reins over to Dunleavy. Was also cool he did it in front of Barbosa, who's on the Kings bench. Post also looked great. If anything, it was just refreshing to have a stretch big who knows how's to distance manage in P&R defense.

Nick Elliston

That fox foul was an all-timer. Since when can you run into a ball handler and the ball handler gets the foul? It's not a moving screen; it's not a screen! He had the ball! He had a pivot. Ludicrous.

Mike Peterson

Dennis has been terrible… he’s gotta be in the trade machine. I say if the bulls are tryna get rid of everyone I’d say throw Dennis in there and see if they’re willing to get off Coby white contract. Also get Vuc along side it and send them our 2025 first, all our seconds and expirings till it works out money wise. This’ll allow Steph to rest nights and have Coby run the Pg bc he’ll be looking to score as well as a big enough guard to run the 2 along side Steph. But can’t watch Schroeder much longer bc I can finally see why he’s always on different teams. He’s a baller when nothing counts and winning isn’t the focus.

Ben D

I don't get the hate and frustration for this game, we kept it close against a almost full squad kings team with half our starters out. I thought we played as well as we could, just the sloppy one hand passes killed the momentum

broodje met beleg

Low turnover, great decision maker who can shoot better than we realize.

Chip Tingle

Boyz II Draymond singing "So we've come... to the ennnnd oooof the rooooaaaddd"

Major Powers

Patty is a good look almost every time he’s on the floor. I get that we want scoring, however, minimize and turnovers equals more scoring in the long run.

LonTheThird

I agree with empowering him on often however I feel like his spot up threes and put backs are just enough because he’s very active with his hands eyes and feet movement.

LonTheThird

Great minutes from QP! Hard work and solid coaching in the G-League posting off. The more scary coaching decisions with the rotations that we make in the backfiring and we get blown out anyway.

LonTheThird

The commentary on GP inability to stay healthy had me weak lol

Ruben Valce

Agree and disagree. In crunch time, there's possibly not a single player in the whole league who you'd rather have playing safety to get you a stop than Draymond. I think the org definitely just needs to figure out how to keep him sharp to be a closer while leaning on other guys for heavy minutes.

yan't get right

Santos looks like a starter to me. Especially with Slo Mo out of rotation.

Alex Kay

That last foul on Post made me blow a gasket. That shit is exactly what is wrong with the NBA, refs deciding games. And they decide a lot against us.

John Z

How often can we say that this season?🤦‍♂️

BruceWayne

He obviously rotated his body to keep from getting bowled over by Sabonis. I doubt he even thought about it. Probably just an instinctive reaction to a 7 footer jumping into your space. Refs didn’t even look at that part…

BruceWayne

Post and Gui are looking good man, we gotta play them more 100%. I’m curious to see Post, Steph, and Dray on the floor together. But my 100% trade pieces are definitely buddy and GPII. Probably Slo Mo too

Yungdoms

Your observation about Gui playing "the Draymond role" is absolutely correct. But more importantly, THIS IS A ROLE, and we have to recognize that Draymond is a roleplayer who is there to do certain things on both offense and defense. He is not a star player or key guy, and Kerr needs to stop trying to build the rotations around him. If we have other guys who do what Draymond does, but are younger, faster, stronger, cheaper, and have more upside, then why the fuck haven't we moved on already? We could really use that $25mil as a trade chip to get a scorer (Cam Johnson?) and we'd still have multiple players on this roster who could give us what Draymond does on the court.

Thomas Ogas

QP has been playing well on the G also. He started out slow but be looks very comfortable now.

Carla Davis

If it wasn't for Steve Kerr's small ball lineup in the third quarter, the momentum will never been shifted to the king's favor

Joshua Gaskin

We cannot make a run again. It was a fun game, and it's nice to see that our guys haven't given up and are playing hard. That's what we like to see. But this team is levels below contender. Just be happy they're giving great effort and that they are giving us a fun product.

Thomas Ogas

Loved what I saw from QP! Made me genuinely excited for a young Warriors Center for the first time in goodness knows how long

Asa Forsythe

I was thinking the same thing, but honestly yeah, if you can avoid flaring the leg you definitely get the foul call, so that would be the move

Asa Forsythe

Like a Boyz II Men back up singer, you so nailed it lmao. I'm jazzed about Gui & Post

Allison Hendrix

you know that rule only applies when its not the Warriors lmao

Ballin Forever

I’m with you! I liked shat I saw big picture

Athletic Alchemy

who gonna tell buddy in the mic that we've never viewed em as a "rival". i also dk what playoffs he be talkin about, the last time we seen em in the playoffs was on that floor n 30 50 piece em. ik he meant play-in but when that's all they got, thats why it aint no rivalry. Gotta go get big vue who we'll see tn. I feel like addin him n gettin whole will turn our season around. hell of a win Sacramento, but theres levels to the shit.

JW

Curry energy depends on if everybody plays well. In the first 3 quarters he played with energy but in the 4th he seemed drowsy and done. But that’s the problem when you can’t trust nobody else.

D C

Kerr needs to play Post every night in the second unit rotation, and stop with GPII at PF over Gui. Although, I guess it’s GPII over Moody in Kerr’s mind.

BruceWayne

Moody flared his leg, but the alternative was getting completely knocked back in the air by Sabonis in his landing space. Not sure what a shooter is supposed to do there.

BruceWayne

We DEF should empower Post offensively. Especially when Kuminga returns. Im interested to see a Steph Wiggins Kuminga Gui Post lineup. That spacing paired with the slash bros sounds intriguing,

Ballin Forever

I’m with you about many positive signs for the kids, especially against a hot Kings team in Sac. More Gui, Post, even Pat to get Steph off ball more, avoid constant double teams. Watching Wiggs, Buddy handle the ball is painful, but they both had good games, especially Wiggs both ends. Add JK, Dray, Podz, even Kyle…and keep playing that hard!

Chip Tingle

I was at the game and was able to see shit from the other side. Wiggins and Steph were getting raked across the body during the game. That 4th quarter pass from Wiggins, he was hit all in the arm and that’s why the ball died

Kahlil Baker

Idk if Steph can be the primary scorer on this team anymore if we want to talk about a championship run. Teams know they have to swarm him to stop him and he's too old/slow to deal with that every game.

Dr. Sanjin

I noticed a ton of negativity from the fans cause of the loss. I honestly think this game gave me a lot of hope. With Quinten out there people were turning away from the basket and even if he didn’t lock them down it caused second guessing. Gui looking nice. Maybe I’m too optimistic but once kuminga gets healthy I think we can make a run again. I believe

Sonam

By far my favorite loss of the season. We got life, y'all!!! Leadership is everything man. If Steph can find this gear consistently, and we get a hungry Kuminga back?? Watch out man. Look at how good our players looked playing some consistent high PNR and 5-out hoops. Sucked to lose but this is where the season gets fun. Schroder clearly not vibing with coming off the bench but I think if Steph really unlocks the roster then Schroder will continue to feast in his minutes with players around him who aren't worried about running that damn motion offense.

yan't get right

I think Post earned some more minutes. It was nice seeing a little extra spacing on the floor and not a total 3v5 situation we tend to see when our bigs and Dray are on the floor.

Dr. Sanjin

Gui should be getting 25mpg minimum right now with the current roster construction. Also, Post looked more mobile than I imagined he’d be at his size and his height/length was def a factor. Don’t think it’d hurt to give him some extended run going forward.

Mitch Coob

I knew we would probably blow the lead, but when Deebo hit that 30-ft hezi pull, I knew we were gonna lose in the worst way possible

Billy Roberson

I mean no shocker we blew the lead but honestly without the refs apparently thinking LeBron plays for the Kings now and fully rigging it we win this game easily still. The refs have been waaaay more fair this season but this game was rigged to shit, at least 5 of our turnovers were because they were allowed to bear hug our guys and just wack away at their arms yet we breathe on any Kings and it's instant free throws.

KuraiT

I feel like we all new that lead was not gonna last
