My internet been down all day, I will provide another link ASAP
he got over it and back into the game pretty quick to be fair. but I bet it influenced him to be less careful about getting Klay on the arm

I think we are saying similar things. I see your point about our guys growing over the last year in roles that may not have been best suited for them BUT my point is the gravity/play making/ bball IQ from jimmy is affecting our guys in a positive way. Buddy is playing less (as he should be in that 20 minute role), podz looks like he finally took that next step as a 2nd year and moody getting consistent minutes is hitting shots and becoming a decent defender. It was all a trickle down from Jimmy in the rotation.

Back when we were all much younger, I had so much respect and admiration for Steve Kerr. To see such a fall from grace, to see someone who will lie through his teeth with such good acting skills to finally basically admit that the Warriors can't win because he's afraid to upset the locker room balance - i.e. afraid to upset Draymond - knowing that winning isn't what mattered most to the coach for three f'ing years - making up reasons for inexplicable lineup and rotation decisions, that all finally make disgusting sense - that is the kind of dishonesty I'm talking about.

I’m not mad at the dishonesty, at this point we’ve learned that the fan base does not give you credit for being honest, so why bother?

I think Kerr starts Kuminga off the bench in the beginning, less pressure for him, he can ramp up at his own speed if he’s not under the gun to score straight off the bat. After that, he’ll probably start messing with lineups in practice a little to see if anything changes significantly. Otherwise, I don’t see Kerr putting Kuminga into the starting lineup unless he sees a significant improvement when he does it in practice. I think Kerr would like a little stability himself right now and it ain’t broke, so no reason to start Kuminga just because. Kuminga getting 30 min off the bench worked great for this team.

It’s not even all about Jimmy, it’s the fact that the Young Dubs have pushing themselves to fill that larger role for over a year because the team thought they would have no better options. Now they have pushed their development past where it would have been if Jimmy had been here since the beginning of the year. But Jimmy definitely makes note of each player’s role and their strengths and he encourages them to be more of themselves. That’s the biggest change I see, it’s the fact that no one is trying to cram them into roles that don’t fit their skill set.

Not necessary. Kuminga just has to be able to contribute and not hold the team back, he doesn’t actually have to improve at the moment

Except there’s a very good chance that this is his last contract. I think what really motivates Jimmy is the ring. He has a very good chance of becoming the savior if they get to a legit run this year or next year, as a vet who is in his final years, you couldn’t write a better narrative for your final years.

You think Steph and Dray wouldn’t take the time to revel in pettiness if Jimmy wasn’t there? Doubtful. They take it where they can get it and Steph is notorious for allowing revenge to fuel his games. He’s delivering on the entertainment part of the package. And it works, many analysts and reporters went into depth about Steph’s retaliation and then rated it against his previous revenge games. It’s part of the package.
Same for Dray, they know what they’re doing.

It doesn’t mean Kerr is going to be consistently proactive, but the team definitely plays better when he is.

I don’t like any of these body obsessed narratives, the implication that the team owns any of your free time is not something the players should be accepting. I do think Luka needs to be ready to play as soon as training camp starts and he has to figure out how to do whatever he needs to to prevent injuries, but making insinuations about his weight, his smoking, his drinking…. Nope, I don’t like any of that. Guy is 25 years old and he looks like he’s legit 35 years old. There’s a reason people think he’s only got another 10 years of play at the most
Irritated Inanimate
2025-02-27 08:31:41 +0000 UTC
Jimmy isn’t even sweating when he plays, even though he’s obviously winded near the end sometimes. It’s like watching SGA play where he’s barely sweating, there’s no mouth breathing from exertion, there’s barely any exclamation on a fight to the rim. Jimmy just calmly doing his job and delivering all night on time.

I was praying for Klay to let it go, the last thing Klay should be doing is reminding everyone that this kid took his starting spot last year and it turns out, Kerr had made the correct decision.
The bitching to the refs is the one thing about Podz play that annoys the hell out of me, get your ass back on defense, kid!

Grass ain’t always greener on the other side, it’s greener where you water it.
Klay being on one team for his whole career meant that he really couldn’t fathom how special what he had here was. People would tell them he was lucky and they wish they had what he did, especially since ge seemed so happy on the water with Rocco. But Point Gawd is correct, the focus for Klay has been different. Same thing happened when KD joined, Steph took a step back, but Klay said “that’s cool for you Steph, I’m still taking my shots”

yan't get right is right. All four want to "Prove they can still do it." But the difference we are talking about is what "IT" is for the players. For Dray and Steph "IT" is "Win another title" and for JB "IT" is "Get back to the Finals." For Klay "IT" is "Get my 25 points." One of these is not like the others.

Looks like happy days may be here again, at least it seems the fellas got their groove back. Watching the Petty King and his Duke of Green go at PJ Washington for his night night diss was compelling theater. It also shows you how hard those two ride together, they will def not go gentle into that good night.
A couple narratives I truly hope will disappear in the light of this new dawn. The "we shouldn't have let go of JP" narrative, when he will always just be a bucket for himself. And the "Thats why I left" riff by overrated ex-gm Bob Myers when he's doing hot takes on television about the Dubs luxury tax and personnel issues. (Insert sample of D Green infamous tirade to KD - "leave B---ch, we won without you").

Idk. Y’all sound a little wild. We’re high right now but Klay did a really hard thing choosing himself against the trio. If this dubs season goes a certain way, you could easily say “proving they can still do it” about Draymond and Steph too. You never know how good the mavs could do either. It was all for the best

2025-02-25 05:01:25 +0000 UTC
Alc is right that Steph, Dray, and Jimmy B just want to win. You can say a lot of good things about Klay, but one thing you can't say is "He just wants to win." Since the injury he has been intensely focused on "Being the MAN" and "Proving he can still do it." That foolish selfishness is why, for the team to have a chance to win, he had to go.
Point Gawd
2025-02-25 04:45:17 +0000 UTC
Totally agree. It isn't clear to me how JK works back into the line-up. Also, remember how everyone thought Klay joining the rolling Dubs after his injury was gonna take the team even higher, but he came back and messed up the chemistry and mucked up the offense? Well, . . . it doesn't always work when you add a talent but to do so are forced to tamper with what's already working. Hope that doesn't happen here, 'cause JK has already earned those minutes. And if it worked it could be beautiful.

Where does JK slot in and get minutes and shots that obviously makes us better than we are now? The 20 minutes and 3 shots from Gui? Maybe the GP2 minutes when we aren't chasing a speed guard. Minutes from Moody? - what we need is a hustle/spacing guy who doesn't need the ball in his hands.
I think Jimmy fills MOST of the role we wanted from JK, at a much higher level.
Anybody got ideas?
John Pettus
2025-02-25 00:45:10 +0000 UTC
I think the intent is to have Jimmy out there for ALL of the non-Steph minutes, basically. If not Jimmy+Dray.

And the guy they traded for, Anthony "Street Clothes" Davis, is in street clothes, just as anyone should have expected (and after less than 1 game, no less). I mean, how can you be upset at Luka for not taking care of his body, and then trade Luka for someone that no amount of care is going to keep them on the court? Just bizarre.

2025-02-24 23:54:37 +0000 UTC
"Three the Hard Way" LOL Any theories on the JK situation? Something is not adding up. Either the injury is far worse than we've been told, or Celebrini and the team are keeping JK out for some other reason. Either way, the apparent dishonesty with the fan base is the kind of disrespect for the fan base that ends with late and low energy on the home court.

Steph always wins the Steph minutes so imagine Steph and JK 😜 then Jimmy and Dray winning the non Steph minutes, man the west is about to find out. Plus a finishing 5 of Steph, Podz/Moody, Jimmy, JK and Draymond, man that's gonna be something defensively and offensively cos one thing about JK, Dray and Jimmy, they are ice cold and will hit the big shots when it counts. Then Steph is the icing on the cake, Lord I'm getting excited 😊

Found myself watching podz fast twitch defense instead of the ball at times
That time he no call fouled Klay -rewind a possession and you'll see podz gets no-call fouled, spends 2 seconds bitching to the official, then gets his head back in the game with a small chip on his shoulder. Probably why he fouled Klay - and why he got away with it

The +/- guys pointed out that Steve’s been playing Steph hold down the fort with the bench guys and letting Draymond & Jimmy run up the score with the starters.
Probably the plan to slide JK right into the spot playing alongside Steph.
If Himmy, Dray & Podz are winning the starter minutes and Steph & JK are working the middle lol. I mean, it feels like and embarrassment of riches. So early but hard not to get giddy.

The amazing thing is that Jimmy is making Moody and Podz playing better by learning how to play with their pace and body. Also Jimmy makes chef and donkey have less TOs. Now when JK is back, he is important to the line up when Jimmy is resting. Curry and JK lineup has to be effective for us to have a chance to win it all.
Natto Santo
2025-02-24 21:12:33 +0000 UTC
Jimmy has flat out impressed me so far. He reminds me of a technical Muay Thai fighter or Muay Femur they call it where their super power is their timing and fight IQ and his ability to get to the line plus his nail game is the equivalent of using the teep kick or sweeping the opponent. It doesn’t always lead to a knockout but really breaks the rhythm of the opponent and asserts your dominance in the fight. Crazy high level stuff I just wasn’t aware of when he played in Miami

Thanks for making that point about the coaches waking up too, not just the players! How many times has Kerr let the opposing team out-hustle and out-execute us for 5, 10 minutes out the gate without pumping the brakes? Seeing him call a Pop early timeout two games in a row did a lot to restore my faith in him going forward

"that's probably a pause" 😂😂😂
Man, I think the magic of Jimmy is pretty clear now. I love Steph and Draymond but they're so successful at this point that they can't be example setters anymore. Most of what they cared about last night was pissing on them Mavs boys for the previous disrespect, but that's a thing that NONE of the young guys can really tap into yet. They're trying to put food on the table. So Jimmy comes along and really doesn't take on any of that dynasty pettiness, but just produces. He sets the example of how to play alongside the volatile nature of Steph and Dray. And his presence allows Steph/Draymond to forget about trying to be mentors for a bunch of hungry role players and just focus on their boastful nonsense lmao. He might be the best mercenary of this era if not for Kawhi's Toronto run if we're being honest and we got him at a perfect time in our team's evolution
