I havent commented on a few videos in a row now because somehow everytime I watch them, I'm never near my computer lol. And posting comments on mobile is just weird.
This game was "boring" in the best possible way. Charlotte clearly just wanted to go home at the end of that road trip. But seeing vintage Draymond was pretty cool.
I said that the Jimmy honeymoon phase could be anywhere from 6-8 games, and that they could go 6-2 in those games. So far, at 6-1, they are on pace to do exactly that.
The things that I didnt expect during that phase is that Draymond would be THIS reinvigorated. You've already touched on it a bunch in several videos. But Dray is definitely the one on the highest of his highs since the trade. Im curious how long he will keep it up. 30 games is a long time to keep up the level that Dray has been playing. I dont doubt his mind/heart, but I do wonder if his body and energy at this age will continue.
Another thing I didnt expect is for Podz to suddenly turn into Cash Money himself. Like you said, he's been in the matrix. Everything is slowed down for him. He never looks sped up or out of sorts. Here's me begging that somehow he has a 3 inch grow spurt before hes 25 haha. But nah for real he's looking so solid right now and Im happy for him. Again, just hoping he keeps it up as we face tougher opponents.
In a 40 pt blowout, why is Trayce still not seeing minutes? Dont get me wrong, I loved the edginess of Post at the end there. But wouldnt that have been prime time for TJD to get in there for a few minutes and re-find his confidence or something?
Im so glad Post is working out, but its just weird to see that Trayce has fallen off so hard that even in a 40 pt blowout, he still cant get minutes.
Finally, Im still overly cautious about this team. Everything has looked nice since the all star break. But I think its the trauma that this team has subjected us to over the last couple of seasons of just when we think they're "getting right", they'll find ways to fuck up again.
My projected honeymoon phase ends officially tonight at the 8th game, and it just so happens to coincide with the start of a ton of road games. Crossing my fingers than Im wrong. Just keep winning!

I think JK--like almost everyone in the world--signs the offer sheet for the most money. And why not? This will be his first (and perhaps only) "Generational Wealth" contract. Why would you leave money on the table in that situation? We can say all we want about a title, but one injury to Steph and that will go "poof". At the same time, one injury to JK and he'll never see that money again. He has the chance to sign a max contract, $38mill a year for 4 years (I think). Leaving $8mill a year on the table takes it from $152 mill total down to $120 mill total. That is a substantial enough difference to move on. Then, the cherry on top--JK has the POTENTIAL to be All-NBA, maybe even MVP. That's not gonna happen coming off the bench and/or playing out of position for Steve Kerr. SO, asking him to take $32mill less AND stunt his profile just so Steph can MAYBE win another title? I believe he, and most people faced with that choice, would say it costs too much to stay.

"Jimmy tells them, why wouldn’t you take that shot, you’re open and you’re a basketball player, shoot it! They didn’t have that permission before" . SO, what you're saying is, "Coach Kerr was horribly mismanaging the team--with Kerr they're about .500, with Jimmy they are .833--Jimmy B for Coach of the Year!" . . . Some of us have been saying Coach Kerr was horribly managing the TEAM (not Steph and Dray, the TEAM) for 3 years. Kerr shoulda been kicked upstairs. Its really sad when you bring in amazingly promising young players but your coach is so clueless about how to get the best out of young lottery picks that you have to bring in a player to do the coach's job.

Lacob says he’s going to pay him, but they are interested in how much other teams value him. I don’t see another team offering Kuminga the max, the new CBA changes how teams view shelling out that much of their budget on any one player, I suspect it’s one of the real reasons Luka got traded.
And everyone keeps forgetting that just because Kuminga gets offered more by another team doesn’t mean he will automatically take it, especially if GSW makes a deep playoff run. Kuminga has been here long enough to know that not every team has championship ability and mentality the way GSW does. He also saw what happened with Klay after he left. Klay thought he was going to a place where a ring was practically guaranteed and now it’s a huge question mark. There are some things you can’t control.
And if money is the most important thing to Kuminga or he wants a guaranteed starring spot on another team because he doesn’t want to wait until Steph leaves, then he might have that as an option. But he’s already on a team with championship designs and a young core of players who are also learning to be champs from the best in the league. So I think it’s actually a harder decision for Kuminga than it looks to be.

Buddy was terrible with the ball in his hands and coming off screens. But Buddy is very high motor, so you get Buddy to stay in motion and relocate like Steph and, boom, completely open shots.
And, again, if Kerr isn’t trying to make Buddy do things that are unnatural for Buddy, then Buddy doesn’t have as much trouble shooting.

That’s some “defense first” player stuff, because you’re shooting isn’t as helpful to the team as all the little things you do . Gui plays the same way.

I like the way one of the guys from 95.7 explained it: Jimmy is a legit number 1 or number 2 option, so him being present allows Podz, Moody, etc to play at their natural roles rather than either of them trying to fill the role of the second option. And we can see that effect because they were trying to fill the role of number two option even with Wiggs on the team. But I think the real difference is Jimmy gives them permission to go ahead and take those shots. Jimmy tells them, why wouldn’t you take that shot, you’re open and you’re a basketball player, shoot it! They didn’t have that permission before, Dray and Kerr kept telling everyone to “look for the best shot” which is not the same as “that shot is yours, take it”. Jimmy has gone so far as to say, when I pass you the ball, shoot it, because that’s why I’m passing it to you.

I was literally watching a video of Stackhouse practicing with Jimmy and blocking Jimmy’s one leg fade away and trying to figure out if Stackhouse was trying to get Jimmy to shoot over him or if Jimmy was practicing a put back after the block. Because the shot was so easy for Stack to block, but he was only tapping the ball back to Jimmy. I guess he was practicing the latter.
The number of deflections and steals was comical.
And I’m glad Dray has finally been trying to score more, he was partially responsible for the ridiculous amount of pressure placed on Steph to score earlier in the season. The defense could totally ignore him because he wasn’t even attempting any shots.
Always enjoy watching Baby Dubs run the floor, they are very connected as a team. And that dunk from Knox on the Santos assist was nasty. Looking forward to Knox getting that NBA contract!

Not entirely, if another team offers JK the max, which is very possible as there are not a lot of good free agents this off-season, we are f'd cos we'll have to either let him go for free or match it. JKs max is gonna be about $38m

In his GS era, Butler’s AST/TO ratio is 38/6. And in 3 of the 7 games, 0 turnovers. Esp. for this team, that’s revolutionary.

This was the third time that JK has gotten injured right when he started to get big minutes. I’m a huge JK supporter, so don’t want to think it, but I’m beginning to worry that he might be low key injury prone, and the lack of consistent minutes has kind hidden that fact. Really hoping that’s not the case.

Everyone’s talking about the Jimmy effect on the role players, and I’m not saying they’re wrong. But how much is attributable to just clarity and consistency?
Would Podz be playing as well if he was being mixed around with Schroeder? Would Moody be playing as well if we he was sharing minutes with Slo Mo, Lindy waters etc.?

My favorite part of Quinten "San Quinten Post" Post's ejection is that it was the clash with a different player, Moussa Diabate, and not Mark Williams that got him ejected. Shows he ain't letting anyone mess with him

Honestly Alch, as someone that has struggled with ankle injuries a high ankle sprain is no joke and usually takes 4-5 weeks to heal. I know he’s young but a really bad sprain just takes deceptively long to come back from, especially since he’s gotta ramp up into NBA action

It depends on how far into the tax Lacob wants to go. I think he can still get like 30M/yr and we under the 2nd apron but if it's more - like the max that Kuminga wants, then we can't. But he'll get plenty

So many nice things you can say - and the breakdown has most of them. I still can't shake the fact that we don't have a starting center. Draymond cannot hold up in a long playoff run. He's barely missed time this year. And the schedule has been Charmin. But hey - let's get the m-f-in 6 seed

Alch, explain how a shooter like Buddy can get stuck in a 2 month slump and then be back to 40+% on 3s. Doesn’t make sense to me. Klay could slump for a month, but nothing like Buddy. Physical, mental or both? Seems he plays better in the non-starting, lower pressure role.

I think in the post game +/- episode after the Mavs game, Slater said something along the lines of JK experiencing swelling in the ankle when he tried ramping up the intensity. It's been frustrating having him out, but everyone manages ankle injuries differently and they've played well post Butler trade to allow him time to get fully healthy.
