Very interested to hear your thoughts on the 76ers game, not enough analysis out here thus far, just blame on role players and Jimmy being gone.
But it felt like Jimmy wasn’t coaching or communicating to anyone from the bench, which might be how he rolls when he’s not actually playing, but it was noticeable. Especially because Draymond emphasized Jimmy’s over communication and we see Draymond “coaching” everytime he’s on the bench.

I saw locker room footage of this game, and you could hear Steph say "needed every damn one of those 56" like he was bummed that he knew his team wasn't going to win that if he didn't pull the rabbit out of the hat. Lost in our euphoria, as Alch points out here, we still have some red flags. The three guard lineups are still being used, they still suck, and the smaller role players are still questionable against bigger, more athletic defenses. I look at how Cleveland, the Nuggets, OKC, and the Celtics look and I don't think we're on their level -- EXCEPT with JK back and rocking. He's the X-factor right now.

See, the thing about a stretch big like Post is, even if he does get sonned in the paint by an AD or Zubac, if he comes back down to the other end and splashes a 3, we still come out even or ahead. Like Alch said, just HAVING a 7 footer around the rim is a huge deterrent effect, missing that was hurting the Warriors for such a long time.

Man... I'm so happy that random Quentin Post seems to have solid fundamentals and that dawg in him. We've tried gangly white boys in the past, and it never seems to work out. But now we got the Shooting Dutchman and he's a difference-maker.
The real question is whether his defense will be able to grow and make sure he can stay on the floor in the playoffs.

Sweet to witness Steph having another throwback transcendent performance, and we needed it with JB having his first honeymoon hangover dud. I sure hope that was an anomaly cuz it was definitely a red flag night. 60 million for that? We better see some of that "Tobias Harris over me" grit in Philly.

Post is quickly becoming my favorite young guy. Im sure he'll bullied a ton by a Jokic or AD if/when he eventually faces them, but goddamn I just love the fight this guy has. Obviously him splashing 3s and putting up the TREY sign with a European mean mug is awesome haha. But finally seeing us have an active relatively high IQ big thats a TRUE 7fter and can set good screens and shoot?????? Brings a tear to my eye.
Cant say anything more about Curry that hasnt already been said. We just need to bask in times like these. Itll be such a tragic day when he finally hangs them up, but goddamn a true Curry Flurry is an international spectacle.
I already knew about the outcome of the game and watched it late cuz I got home from work after it ended, and it STILL had me shouting and up on my feet when he was hitting those shots.
Here's the downer in me: If they keep winning/playing well, I wonder if Kuminga's return will actually hinder all the chemistry thats been built up since his absence. I dont expect him to be THAT physically rusty coming back from injury, but the mental rust to adapt the Jimmy-era now. That will be very interesting.
One more game of my 8 game prediction.....lets pray Im wrong for 15 more games.

Steph is the real GOAT and we how with Jimmy he not getting burnt out so 60 is doable but this win was not happening if Dray did not have an out a body performance in the 2nd half on a much bigger scorer who was beasting out. Paolo may have dropped 60 not giving the Dubs the opportunity for Steph to get to 50.
Let's not over look that.
What I like about the recent games with Jimmy us Kerr not forcing players to play out of position. When we discipline to stick to designed rolls, any system will perform at its optimal peak.
If this team don't make WCSF Kerr need to retire for miss handling talent.
So much fire power on both sides of the ball.
This getting exciting particularly if QP will become more confidence on the D side.
Dubs really the most scary in the West.

QP can shoot. Even if it won't be 43 on volume - even 38 at 7 feet is a decade in the league. But if he can defend, and not freak out in the pain on O, which he seemed to do - then we go ourselves a rich man's Kelly Olynyk

Love your spotlight on Post as the difference maker on both ends 2nd half, and against quality, more athletic bigs! QP is smart, great positioning, feet, vibe thru the roof!
I haven’t noticed Steph’s knees or thumb lately. Gotta love he could give that masterpiece in front of his Mom.
Dray’s 2nd half on Paulo was huge, too, and he’s moving so damn well!
Did I catch a “sliding, gliding” nod to Clyde?

Will we ever see TJD again? Post kinda look elite (or maybe we’re just not used to big fan fundamentals and shooting). Maybe against Jokic? Just to get fouls?
I used to say we should also go get Wendell Carter Jr to stretch the floor bc he used to be a stretch 5 but Post keeps outplaying all these centers…
Also what are your thoughts on Orlando going to get a guy like Jordan Poole? Stretches the floor, shooter, maybe the culture will make him defend more. Plus he can be the 2nd or 3rd option

1. If Jimmy doesn't show up for Philly, I'm officially gonna start worrying. He does all the little things but when we play the better teams that can blitz and take away Steph, we will need him. And his offense has been garbage, lately.
2. I hope realizes that size does matter sometimes, especially against these bigger teams. Post and Knox should get run, especially if Buddy/Podz/Moody not doing anything.
3. I think even in 3 years Curry gonna be a beast. He can't do it nightly, and I think it will look different (slower, more set shots than off the dribble). He reminds me of Nash, and Steve was still an animal at 39. If JK ever becomes a number 1 option that will definitely extend his career. He will playmake more and play off others because that shot won't ever leave.

They did it close out a blowout game a couple nights ago. But think we seen Kerr long enough to know he doesn't wanna play one Big, much less two at the same time.

I really like how Post looks to advance the ball after a defensive rebound. Wastes no time. Either gives it to a guard quickly or turns and starts dribbling up court. He definitely understands the need to create transition offense and has the skill to help make it happen.

Steph made them kids hang their heads going into the locker room at halftime. That's when they won the game. Orlando should have a better record. I hope Paolo gets out of there. He's too good to be wasting his time there.

Great to see a vintage Steph performance (at damn near 37yo!), but I'm every bit as impressed with Post tbh. We hoped he could be serviceable on defense, but he's flashed some seriously high IQ ability that is making him a plus defender rn. Orlando isn't a good offense but still, it's amazing seeing how smart he's playing on that end to make up for his lack quickness & athleticism. What a gem of a 2nd rounder

Alch I have a question. I recognize that TJD is currently in the Kerr dog house and rightfully so but is it inconceivable that against some line-ups we could run a super big line-up with TJD and Post together?

It’s mind-numbing to try and make sense of why Kerr is so adamant on putting out the small lineups so often. It seemed obvious halfway thru the first qtr we needed more size so while I applaud him for the Post move at half it’s still kinda concerning that it took him as long to do so. Gui is good for 2-3 momentum changing hustle plays a game it feels and Knox looks ready to contribute, would love to see them both get some more burn.

Someone on twitter mentioned that Orlando has an arena that shooters like. Good lighting and depth perception, so it makes sense Steph has a lot of these big games here.
I do think a big reason why he had this night is like you said, now that Jimmy is here, and everyone else is stepping up, he doesn't have to carry as much, so it's more likely for him to have explosive nights like this, and you expect Jimmy to eventually do the same when Steph is having an off night.
Also, huge shoutout to QP. His 3rd quarter start was an absolute game changer. Love that we have him on our team.

It didn't really make a difference last night but the "Steph n friends" lineups with Buddy/Gui/Looney/GP2 Moody really need Kuminga in place of Gui or GP2 because there's almost no offensive threats outside of Steph and it puts too much pressure on him to score. They've been staying afloat cause Steph is Steph but when teams trap it could get ugly
