Warriors vs Hornets GM-61

Looking now, I thought the Detroit game was in Detroit. That said going for the Knicks game makes more sense to me if its just BKN and then back Home

FUCK MILES BRIDGES

Shea Johnson

Jimmy butler's into anime that's why he wears the gray hair and the crazy hairstyle he's a huge anime fan

Strong Foru

Are warriors trying to delaying Kumingas return to devalue his stock, so they can get extend him at a discounted price in the offseason? 👀

Breezin23

Bold? That's one 4-letter word for it. Another is "dumb." . . . Klay had a choice. He could've taken that $48 million over 2 years contract they offered before his last year and taken a graceful and powerful role instead of acting like they owed him something and petulantly "betting on himself." He ended up signing for $50 mill for three years. Woo-hoo, $2mill more (really $8mill less a year) to get his contract to end the same year as Steph's. Now Luka's gone, Kyrie is out for the year and may leave in free agency, and Davis is rehabbing and may not play again this year. The Mavs are looking at a rebuild. Klay can now spend the next two years wondering if he'll be traded and worrying about some rookie they want to develop taking his minutes . . . It's sad. But pride goeth before a fall.

Point Gawd

Agree with Irritated. How much better would the Dubs be if Kerr had taken that approach with JK and Moody last year instead of spending all that energy and focus coddling Klay? Yeah, they'd have missed the playoffs. Oops, they DID miss the playoffs. -- The two timelines plan was a good plan because not only does it keep the team excelling once Steph retires, but also with just a little downtime it can provide a strong (and possibly contender-worthy) supporting cast that can get the most out of Steph's last years. A bunch of aging vets never win titles. But one or two aging vets with rising stars around them do (think Kareem at the end, Tim Duncan at the end, and more). That's what two timelines was and is about. I say "is" because that's why they didn't trade all their youth for Markennen, for Podcast P, or last summer for Jimmy Butler. Those were good decisions. While the Jimmy B trade is still being evaluated, the Dubs were right to only become interested when the price came down.

Point Gawd

Yeah, but I guess he did not really have a choice about being traded. Should have kept his cool after though, not tried to make GSW into a competitor

Ivan (Vanya) Kashperuk

Draymond playing injured helps no one, that’s when the team actually plays better.

Irritated Inanimate

I think Jimmy will be fine with playing less as long as he can help the team get to a championship. If Kuminga playing does not lead to more success than Jimmy playing, that is the only time Jimmy will have a problem.

Irritated Inanimate

Jimmy will give us what he can and hopefully he can break the Warriors system while he’s at it, fingers crossed Jimmy doesn’t get seriously injured in the meantime.

Irritated Inanimate

I feel for Klay, but it was bold of him to work against Steph’s karma rather than with it

Irritated Inanimate

Huge difference between being top 6 vs being in the play in, you heard what Draymond said about the play in last year. He can’t motivate himself to play hard enough, he’s rather just go on vacation with his family than play in from 7-10. Disagree on Podz shooting, they are giving him the green light and he needs to take every shot he can so he can build up his arsenal and his confidence. He’s only a second year player, just because you don’t like the way it looks does not mean he’s not an effective player. Everyone needs to stop trying to keep the younger players from learning from their mistakes, it’s unavoidable, so just let it happen so they can move through that stage of their development quickly. They only get better with more reps.

Irritated Inanimate

Why waste Knox on a 10 day if you’re not going to play him? Not that they would allow him to do what he does on the G league team, which they should.

Irritated Inanimate

I’m in agreement with Point Gawd, but I’m wondering if the front office has figured out the same thing we have and they’ve made a plan to address the issue. Winning another championship will complicate things, but I would be very surprised if Kerr wants to stay after his contract is done.

Irritated Inanimate

Hard to say. The new CBA has created a situation where we might see more collusion between owners to keep player salaries down, kind of like what happened to Luka. Because what you’re suggesting only works if no other owner offers Kuminga a large deal.

Irritated Inanimate

It makes sense that Jimmy is able to play while not making his injury worse just because he is so experienced, Kuminga does not have that same expertise.

Irritated Inanimate

Hilarious to see Steph cheering made 3 after made 3 after made 3! I don’t mind Jimmy playing hurt, Draymond playing hurt is a problem for the reasons you’ve mentioned before. But Jimmy doesn’t get in his feelings about it and he’s experienced enough to protect himself when he can as he’s playing. I also think Jimmy has figured out what the problem is with this team, same stuff we have all talked about before. And I think Jimmy realized that the team will still do better with him playing hurt than not playing at all. Everyone saw the difference, but it’s quite an indictment on the current system if Jimmy has correctly diagnosed and cured the ills of this team. He could probably be a very good coach when he retires, it’s not guaranteed, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he were. Chris Paul has that same effect, though CP3 was not as invested in the team’s success as Jimmy is. And Chris knew the problem with Klay was insurmountable, team wasn’t going anywhere near the Finals last year. With all of this in mind, I won’t be surprised if Jimmy coaches up Kuminga so that he can be a suitable replacement for Jimmy if he can’t play due to injury in the future. It doesn’t feel like Jimmy sees a bunch of role players who can help him look good when he looks at this team, it feels like he has already identified their various strengths and weaknesses and has figured out how to optimize each player. Hopefully, Steph and Dray let him do what he can to improve the team and don’t get in his way.

Irritated Inanimate

I believe Kerr is picking the system not Curry and Dray. I can picture Dray being an influence. But when KD was here, most games, his rotation was Curry's rotation. Kerr decided to get the first string to play thru Curry and have KD pick his spots, and for Klay to play in the second unit. Kerr used KD as the closer. So for me it's rotations and system is Kerr, and I believe KD partially left because of Kerr. Great Vid as always Alch. respect!

Uday A.

Hella good point about the Kuminga butler thing. Y’all are still gonna sit Kuminga but have 35 year old butler play through back issues? Doesn’t make sense

Alaase Shambe

They are sitting Kuminga because they think that will help decrease his value in the summer. And it will be easier to retain him. It might make him want to leave more though

Adrian

You're right Alch, our old core is looking rough out there. Steph, is getting some rest against thd knicks, but dray and butler gotta be feeling it too. Edit: turns out steph playing too 💀

adrian salazar

"Podz level confidence" lol that made me laugh

KuraiT

Reports just came out kat is out tonight. We have a chance to take this one

deontae washington

Hahaha on that half court fan attempt I was like wtf you ain't Steph or Dame my guy, not even attempting to load up on it lmao

KuraiT

Ha I never watch the replays on warriors injuries…I always wanna believe they can walk it off! lol But I appreciate that you do!!

Allison Hendrix

Then to me that will tell us how this story will end. We paid Jimmy and have a track record of making bench players/ high end role players stars. If he doesn’t see that then he doesn’t really want to win a chip.

Offtopic K

IG didnt throw his body around in the paint to get to the line, which makes it even scarier

Athletic Alchemy

doing the edits I have watched at least 5 or 6 falls or collisions where I was like oooowww let me look at that again

Athletic Alchemy

The curse of the Don!

Athletic Alchemy

Podz needs to shoot better.. but we need him taking al ot of 3s imo

Athletic Alchemy

I hear you.. but the reality is that is life as a NBA coach.. The stars run shit, unless they are super young.

Athletic Alchemy

I feel you! Not trying to be negative but got to acknowledge what my eyes are showing me

Athletic Alchemy

and all his friends and family forever have the vid lol

Athletic Alchemy

Jimmy's not gonna be down to ride the bench

Andrew Lee

Agree that Steph and Dray play a driving role in strategy and such. But its the coach's job to say "No" when some strategy idea is a bad one, and that includes adjusting the team approach as older players age and younger players arise. If Kerr can't or won't do that, then that's still on Kerr.

Point Gawd

I’m 9/10 concerned about the way Jimmy is moving even if he is having back problems

Mason Hornick

Omg Alch that halftime fan shot HAHAHAHA. This man really tried to shoot a half court shot as if it were a freethrow. Bro took a STANDING 3pt attempt. NBA guys with all the strength in the world need to load up to shoot a half court shot, but this man actually thought he could just flick his wrist hahah holy shit. He's got Podz level of confidence!!!

Jansen E

Fuck it, sit ‘em and run everything through Post, Gui, and Knox. Don’t care if we’d lose by 30, it’d be entertaining and a nice middle finger to the fucking dumbass at the league office who thought, “hey, Curry doesn’t have that many games in his hometown or the Garden left, let’s put them back-to-back in the middle of a road trip”.

quantumferret

Got beat up bad here

Sarcasm 360

He probs had a suite on Emrites. But fr flying to/from Dubai ain’t rest.

Run CTM

Can they stop trying to kill Jimmy please

Sarcasm 360

Despite everyone knowing that every game and every W matters for their seeding and playoff projections, NONE of it takes priority over Steph's health. Being the #1 seed wouldnt matter any more than being the #9 seed if we are jeopardizing Steph. I beg that Steph sits tonight. They'll lose, and thats fine. Itll be annoying, but you cant really do anything about it. This team's core is too old to be playing at anything other than 100%. Onto last nights game: Podz's "irrational confidence" is really starting to overflow into arrogant ignorance. This man really shoots like he thinks he's Steph. Doing lookaway 3s when theyre losing. Taking bad shot after bad shot. He made some of them. And he was really good over the last few games. But Im starting to not like the trend of how he's developing as a player. He's too small to be as good as he WANTS to be, and hes not nearly as good as he THINKS he is. I hope GP2 is okay. That was a nasty collision. The rest of this road trip is not looking too hot. Injured Steph, injured Jimmy, still no Kuminga, and therefore no other scoring option out there. Might as well just start Knox at this point. Im sick of the Kuminga bullshit man. Just say he broke his damn ankle and is out indefinitely.

Jansen E

This is exactly what I was thinking watching the game last night. The high IQ. The unreliable shot making. Being basically a second point guard for the offense, and the defensive instincts. He's 100% Iggy 2.0 but unfortunately, its the old passed-his-prime Iggy. Still smart and helpful. But the lack of scoring ability and injury prone nature is concerning.

Jansen E

At least GSW season going better than the Mavs one...

Ivan (Vanya) Kashperuk

I wonder if that flight to Dubai and back during the break caught up to Jimmy. 15 hours is no joke on the 'ol back!

Allison Hendrix

Fritz’s comment that he got injured guarding the Orlando center highlights the insanity of Kerr’s fixation with small ball when playing against big teams. It didn’t have to happen.

BruceWayne

Watching this breakdown and seeing Jimmy gingerly jogging around, I had a bit of a realization: Jimmy is the new Iggy. That's why he fits so seamlessly into the system. Unfortunately he's also got Iggy's game-time-decision body.

Mike Peterson

Sounds like a good idea too me

Athletic Alchemy

You with me! They thought I was trolling on twitter. It’s like nah bro.. we old and chipped up. It be one thing if the 3 were 30-31 yr old.

Athletic Alchemy

knicks game is so not worth injuring stephs ankle further. They have done enough to have a good shot at the 6th seed no reason at all to push it.

B Master

With Kuminga coming back, maybe we should consider putting Jimmy on the bench playing limited minutes for thr rest of the regular season. I think this would boost Kuminga’s effort and Jimmy thrives if we can get him in more shooter friendly lineups of Step, Podz, moody, post.

Offtopic K

lol facts..

Athletic Alchemy

A smoked Draymond layup vs a missed Draymond 3; pick your early Draymond shot poison.
