If being wrong means winning by 26 and JK having 18 off the bench, I will gladly be wrong every single game for the rest of the season.
I'll happily eat that crow. JK looked smooth and bouncy. Didnt see his middy and I hope he gets back to that, but the on-time cutting and near seamlessness of him back in the lineup was a beauty to watch.

The reason why: Because the team has tried trading him in the past twice. He didn’t have value around the league.

This is why I refuse to give Kerr credit for Kuminga’s development, but since Kuminga has had to develop in spite of Kerr, I do believe he will be stronger for it and trading Kuminga away only ends in regret for GSW.

Leave Buddy alone, Gui doesn’t have the same gravity Buddy has, it won’t work the same way.
If Kerr actually lets Gui shoot the three like he lets Post, that would change. But until then it doesn’t work the same way.

Nobody thinks JK is the number 1 option, everyone needs to stop thinking about that man’s money, he hasn’t gotten paid yet.
Gui is not an isolation player, JK is. Your stats are explained by that alone. Gui hasn’t been given the green light to take his shots in the same way Moody, Kuminga, and Podz have. I’m also uninterested in Kuminga’s stats for the first two months of the season, the rate of his improvement right before he got injured was ridiculously high and he was putting it all together. He was not the same player that he was at the end of the summer.
And you’ve forgotten to factor in the Jimmy Butler effect. None of this is a slight on Gui. I’m actually of the opinion that most players in the league can be highly productive stars when they are given the opportunity, it happens over and over again. It’s actually really disappointing when someone doesn’t rise to the occasion, you really have to think about throwing that particular fish back into the pond and casting the net wider for a better catch in that situation. I think Gui, Spencer, Knox should all play more, not less. But none of them is taking JK’s spot.
I don’t know what Kerr’s up to with that crap, but I’m guessing that it’s now or never for Dunleavy and Lacob to tell Kerr he must use Kuminga because they plan to keep him and he’s going to be too expensive not to use.

It’s unbelievable. And I defend Kuminga with the same energy I defend Buddy. I asked someone what the difference was between Podz coming back from injury and Kuminga coming back from injury, because Kerr doesn’t seem to think he’s going to have a problem when Podz returns.
He said that the difference was that Podz knows his role. Kuminga has a role, it’s 30 plus minutes of all out play from the bench where he scores, defends, and rebounds, though admittedly the last two were very recent developments.
It’s ridiculous that everyone thinks Jimmy is magical for the entire team, but somehow Kuminga won’t benefit from that? Gtfoh

I was with you, but I defend almost all the players, except for Draymond and Steph and Kerr, but that’s because their leadership for this team has been questionable at times. I still blame them for putting too much pressure on the team which led to a team wide worst shooting percentage and worst free throw shooting percentage for months.

Loved Post blocking anything and everything. Kid’s quick, he should have quick hands for blocks, which are just potential steals that happen above your head anyway.
That was a great night for GP II, weird that people were surprised he can play point guard? But that’s why I’m not a fan of Kerr limiting player roles, not great for confidence or creativity. GP II is my favorite player, he’s just as entertaining as Steph is, just with a completely different style and a defensive emphasis. I think of them as the left hand and the right hand on the same body, they always know what the other one is doing and why. I think Steph potentially pays closer attention to what GP II is doing than what Draymond is going. Great performance, will be interesting to see if that mask continues to help him with his three point shot.
I’m bringing it up again, not to you, Alch, but for the Buddy haters: now that Buddy isn’t starting and he isn’t playing more than 20 minutes per night, it’s obvious that his three ball isn’t necessary for this team to win. Notice that Buddy missed a three, Jimmy rebounded, and Jimmy didn’t even hesitate to give the ball right back to Buddy. He seems to trust Buddy for the decision or the shot, don’t know why the rest of the fan base would doubt Jimmy’s judgement here. Feel free to stop wasting time bitching about Buddy not hitting his threes, then maybe notice his defense got much better over the last two months and he’s limiting his turnovers. Perhaps we can also take time to appreciate his steals and ponder when was the last time you saw him miss multiple layups in a row?
Advijah crazy, it’s so rare to see someone actually chase Gary down and catch up to him before getting to the rim. That made me watch him more closely, he’s the real deal.
Clinghan very impressive, blocked 2-3 of Steph’s shots? When was the last time that happened by one player in one game?
Mo had a great game, he has to keep starting and playing serious minutes, his flow is so much better and he’s more successful at getting to the rim predictably. 16-2 record when Moody starts? Something like that?
You really see why the younger teams have more trouble with the Warriors than the older ones, the older teams are much more well versed in the Steph Draymond two man game and they don’t keep forgetting that the area around the basket belongs to GP II. With this younger team, the Warriors looked like they should always look, at least for the first quarter or so. Times are changing, hopefully this falling behind at the beginning of the game thing is over.

But to each their own. I want JK back as well but I want him to come back with the mindset of winning games as a team instead of getting just points. As we all know theirs a lot more to basketball than just scoring. I have high hopes for JK but being the #1 option isn't one of them

Disagree for the most part. JK doesn't rebound nearly as well at both ends and isn't close to the passer Gui is. Gui has probably played what 1/4 of the total NBA minutes JK has? They both make mistakes especially defensively with the bad Buddy/KAT fouls. JK is more athletic obviously. Gui doesn't turn the ball over nearly as much even with the bad passes like the 1 last game. Gui has an assist to turnover ratio of 2.3 this season compared to JKs 1.4. So 2.3 vs 1.4 that's pretty substantial. Also Gui is a much better ball handler. Far more trust in him bringing it up the court and initiate offense than JK. Lastly maybe it's because the team was basically throwing the middle of the season to get JK more minutes and shot attempts but JKs usage rate was so high and his FG% and TS% are at career lows and just low. Gui is a better all around basketball player while JK is better(or more likely has just gotten more opportunity to try to score) the Gui has. Gui plays within the offense instead of trying to get and iso post up, middy, blow bye, or a close to 1 assist per turnover so every pass is like a 40/60 chance for an opponent fast break. JKs got all the "athletic tools" as everyone says but doesn't have the basketball IQ or experience to utilize them. Even with all the playing time he got this season and last. I'll take Moody or Gui over JKs inefficient 20 points. Winning basketball vs getting stats basketball. The advanced stats don't lie.

Its NASTY WORK the shit im seeing. People just cant understand context. People complain about JK looking to score too much but forget to add the context that the team as a whole was struggling to score. He was trying to fill a void in the roster. Now that we have a legit costar for Steph... Kuminga can take a lil step back and play more within the offense. 10X more closeout attack opportunities...

With an aging roster, we need Kuminga for depth in the playoffs. Let's be real, Gui is good, but he is not the athlete, and offensive threat that Kuminga is. I'd say they are about equal on defense. Gui might be hungrier and scrappier, but Kuminga should be hungry too after all that time off.

The JK slander cos we are wining is ridiculous. This will be easy for him cos he's a finisher and there are 3 elite creators on the team now with Steph, Jimmy and Dray. Plus there's a true shooting big to space the floor and Pods and Moody, Buddy all shooting better now. We havent seen JK for long thats why people seem to forget the guy is a walking bucket. he always finds a way to score no matter what role he plays, as long as he gets playtime anyway. I found it hilarious that Kerr said we have to keep playing Gui when he was asked about JK. Like who even thinks, JK should be competing for minutes with Guy Santos? and i Like Gui too SMDH

The problem is Jimmy B is probably going to miss some time, perhaps in the playoffs. We already saw what happens when Jimmy B doesn't play. JK would probably take some of that load--but only if he gets integrated into the team when he comes back in the regular season, for that's when he can have the space to make mistakes and figure it out. As for Kerr, if any other coach said they didn't want to mess with the rotations when JK comes back, I'd think it was a basketball calculation. But Steve Kerr has ALWAYS been reluctant to play JK, ALWAYS looking for an excuse to sit him in favor of anyone--Jimmy B, Podz, Moody, even Anthony Lamb. Thus, for me, Kerr doesn't have any credibility when it comes to whether and how JK might contribute.

This game was so strange. Portland was playing like they were up 10 most of the game, and if you covered up the scoreboard, I wouldnt know who was winning. Portland was kind of bullying us a bit like Brooklyn was, but somehow the score never reflected that. Am I alone in that feeling??? I mean its like they never even missed a shot that entire 3rd quarter, and Avdija turned into KD. Yet....I dont remember Portland ever taking the lead?
It definitely got close, but Idk if Portland was just playing out of their minds or if our defense wasnt as good as its been the last few games.
Nevertheless. The crow that I bought for myself after the Jimmy trade is roasting in the oven and is just about ready for me to eat. I need to see that Denver game and we better beat the Kings. Then I'll eat that crow. But until then, I'll keep it in the oven....
I could understand losing to the Knicks as they will be playing with a revenge factor against us, and you never know what Bucks team you're getting. The g-league affiliate or an actual contender? Honestly I hope they rest some guys vs. MIL and save them from Denver. Obviously every game counts, but I would still prioritize getting a W over a west team than MIL.
If this team stays healthy, I see no reason why they cant finish top 6.
Other than his celebrations and hitting 3s, I think the reason Post is so exciting to watch is that he's almost shown a different strength of his game every time he's out there! Sometimes its shooting. Sometimes its his passing/vision. And last night was 100% his defense. The Klingon (or whatever) guy was a monster and might as well be Zubac against us. He didnt get outplayed by Post, but Post definitely stayed competitive! Im wondering if Post could get as strong/big as Klingon.
I honestly dont expect Kuminga to return for the regular season. If he's the one who is giving himself the greenlight, I think he's in a weird situation. Kerr has said that he wouldnt want to change the rotations if Kuminga comes back. So what would JKs minutes look like? And when he inevitably looks rusty and not very good, do those minutes get reduced more? The last thing Id wanna do if I were Kuminga is come back, play bad, be a scapegoat for a loss, get minutes reduced, and possibly get injured again anyway.
Im hoping GP2 and Moody stay healthy and continue this run. This has been the most amazing month for both of those 2 so far.

The thing with Gui is since he plays every play at 200% I feel like that’s leading to him not only fouling as much as he does but also it gets him out of position when guarding because of the energy he exerts. I think he could take a page from Moses and Jimmy and figure out which spots to bring it from 200% down to 150% and I think it’d help him stay in front of his matchups more and potentially not got bodied as much as he does since he’d be more grounded.

Was at the game last night and I thought Steph was going to get to 4K. But you could tell Portland was determined to not let him get the shots up as they were faceguarding him everywhere he went. It also felt like the wasn't going that hard because we were scoring at will against them. Happy to see the team continually finds ways to win without relying on Steph.
