Warriors vs Bucks GM-69

Comments

TJD has weaker hands.

Paul LaDue

Not a Kerr hater, and definitely want the TEAM to win. But, just for the record, if every single player on the team can be (and is repeatedly) evaluated, then it is fair to evaluate the person who decides which player plays when, which players sit the whole game, what offense and defense the team will run, what plays will be called when, when to challenge a call on the court, when to call time-out . . .. For the record, the person making all those decisions for the Dubs, that's Steve Kerr.

Point Gawd

Sign and trade kuminga for the max contract

richard phan

.. playing soccer with the guys

wcd

Regardless of what we all see, Lacob ADORES Kuminga. Seems Dunleavy would have to do a lot of work to convince him to let go.

wcd

I sure hope you are right, and I wasn't putting him in the Paddles Wiseman category, maybe not weak hands just unsure hands. In any case I want him to play well for us down the stretch, he should be fresher than the others, and I don't want to rely on Buddy for second team offensive creation.

Russ

Hell no he did not. Buddy is a decent finisher at the rim but he is uncomfortable in many situations, like taking the ball up court for instance.

Russ

one thing jimmy does and all the foul merchs.. they hold on to the ball longer. Contact then shot.

Athletic Alchemy

Thanks man!

Athletic Alchemy

I think there is a strong possibility they move him regardless

Athletic Alchemy

Id like to see some more traditional PnR in those times. They are competing so hard defensively the motion offense is not as sharp when they are tired

Athletic Alchemy

valid point

Athletic Alchemy

love it.. you know me Im a no celly guy unless it truly calls for it. Even Pods after the first big 3 no celly

Athletic Alchemy

he Gi have no chemistry..Word is Giannis spent a good amount of time in the Dubs locker room post game

Athletic Alchemy

its just more layered.. but you are right it is easier because of his pace

Athletic Alchemy

just goes to show how mental the game is. Look at the 3 hottest teams in the L rn. Dubs Clips and Wolves... what you know all the teams with the most on the line!

Athletic Alchemy

some times I leave it for yall

Athletic Alchemy

Got to read the context of the defense better at times. In this one buddy faked the cut with Giannis.. you think he wanted to try and finish at the rim with Gi on his back and Lopez rotating over

Athletic Alchemy

got one last night!

Athletic Alchemy

does he? Im not sure about that, I think his handle is weak its more of a ball control/touch thing than weak hands.

Athletic Alchemy

Kuminga just has fundimental issues, and it's hard to see how he improves them before Steph and Dray hang the shoes. He can't shoot, and he can't space the floor. His defense, boxing out, rebounding, and intagibles have generally been poor outside of short spurts here and there. He also slows the game down and turns into iso machine and everyone watches. People cut far less when he has the ball than anyone else. Hopefully I'm wrong, but he's too erratic of a player. GPII is the better, less athletic version of what people want Kuminga to be.

Julian

Great Break down! Praying for you!

Warren Dean V

Kuminga just has weak hands. His catches aren't strong and it's way too easy to knock the ball out of his hands. He has great touch finishes but look at the difference between Steph, Draymond and Jimmy's hands. Those guys always come away with the ball. Dray has quick and strong hands but zero touch. Steph and Jimmy just have great hands period.

Russ

Not entirely true, showing teams with a different look via Jk post up or Iso is his super power, can’t run motion all day long

Kevin Chan

They root for themselves instead of the team, that is a great way to put it

KuraiT

If all you do in life is look at what you could've had instead of what you do have then ya you are going to be disappointed, I don't look at drafts that way, hindsight is 20/20. we have a 15 to 20 ppg guy at 7th overall, a solid starting 3 and D wing at 14th and then Podz, Santos and Post are all found money with where they were drafted, and let's not forget drafting JP late first helped us win a chip. Again I don't care about who we could've had in an alternate realty, what we did get is damn good

KuraiT

With our lottery picks, we missed out on Trey Murphy, lamello ball, and Franz Wagner. It was lowkey bad drafting tbh. But Meyers converted, a KD committed to leaving in free agency, into a lottery pick (that materialized into Kuminga) with the Wiggins deangelo trade; so I give Meyers a lot of credit there for that return/robbery. I can’t be too mad at the drafting but i would’ve preferred all the above names over moody, kuminga, and wiseman 100%. They just fit better (taller, high IQ, better shooters, can impact the team immediately, star potential, etc). Who knows tho, Kerr lowkey isn’t a cultivator of young stars 🤷‍♂️ in many ways he might even be a growth inhibitor. He also has a short leash on young players (unless their name is Podz). Kerr is great at maximizing role players tho (i.e Ian Clark, mcgee, JTA, Otto porter, etc) and you see that because these role players production usually decreases once they leave GSW.

Breezin23

Totally agree, we’re missing that reliable third option who can win us 1 or 2 playoff games. I know we want Kuminga to be that but I’m not convinced yet tbh. I know he’s capable and has the tools, but perhaps not with the warriors 😔

Breezin23

The Dray and curry full court passes that turns into a steal and momentum shifter, is the most disheartening thing to watch. It usually happens when we’re down bad or up a good lead. I respect that they have confidence in themselves to make that throw after years of it usually resulting in interceptions, but it’s one of those “can’t teach an old dogs new tricks,” they’ll do it till retirement. The one thing that needs to be stopped asap is the crazy Draymond oops for JBIII and Kuminga, some of those Lobs can result in injuries because dray forces the lobs at times through defenders. But I guess you have to test your new toys limits so I also get that, just don’t test it into an injury 😅

Breezin23

They should’ve stomped the nuggets without those two. And yet they got stomped themselves.

Jansen E

anyone else been hate-watching timberwolves games waiting for them to stumble? the pacers game was bad luck for them but entertaining.

B Master

This is what a Butler game looks like. And he is a better passer than Steph and especially Draymond. Dray continues to hunt the hero assist. Someone has got to get through to him, every back cut is NOT a bucket. Dray did play other world D on Giannis, invaluable. Just stop chucking passes around..

Russ

How would your doubts have been cleared up if they beat a Nuggets team without both Murray and Jokic? That makes no sense.

Doug Wills

QP made a slew of mistakes in the 3rd during the initial Bucks run but I loved that Dray immediately called him out and QP took it well. Imagine the beast QP can become with the tutelage of Dray, Jimmy

Salvador

Nah 😭. This is why ur not a GM

Marcus Danny Blaise

As he sprays in Lopez face… where was the PAUSE????

Gerald Seals

They had me in that 3rd quarter. I was firing up my keyboard ready to unleash on them in this very comment section of this video! But thankfully, Podz clearly missed playing basketball and said "not on my watch". The one thing thats funny to me: how does a team look MORE energized on the back end of a back to back? Well the funny answer is, GP2 was the only player who played on Monday! So of course everyone else had energy. They had all checked out on Monday so they had all the energy in the world on Tuesday. "Blessing in disguise" I guess. How I know Im right is that there is no way Draymond plays as good of defense vs Giannis as he does last night at his age, without having taken off Monday night. I dont know if what we saw down the stretch was a glimpse of "Playoff Jimmy". I still need him to be a bit more aggressive downhill and look to score, but it was refreshing to see them bounce back after that god awful 3rd quarter. What concerns me is that the Bucks clearly were just ice cold in the first half and the Warriors got lucky af that the 2nd best 3pt shooting team couldnt hit water from a boat. Overall. Im glad they got the win. But the game itself didnt impress me at all because I still have serious doubts if they were to face a top west team. Call me controversial lol but no east team other than CLE or BOS gives me any reason to believe they're legit. They had a chance to quell my doubts the other night and shit their beds. They have relatively "easy" and "winnable" games until April. Then they have Memphis and Lakers to start the month. Those games are theoretically the next measuring sticks. I swear to god if they drop this Toronto game...........

Jansen E

Point Jimmy with off-ball Steph is gonna put some contenders to sleep this postseason

Noah

We would be better off if Kuminga was benched for the rest of the year

Rob00

Pure delusion.

Rob00

if your name isnt steph curry or jimmy butler then you should not be playing 1 on 1.

Rob00

No way Kuminga will ever get Jimmy's feel for the game and the angles

caspuchiha .

Jimmy's a better passer for sure, but it's mostly because of the way he controls the possession. He doesn't force passes, he manipulates defenders into giving up open looks one pass away. The timing on his passes is immaculate.

Mike Peterson

Plz do more slomos with your breakdowns! That was awesome!

Sqk

Seriously. His passes definitely have more nuance.

John Z

That makes total sense

Alex Kay

“They’d rather be right than win” that’s all of warriors twitter brother

Harmanpreet_singh92@yahoo.com

Yea he needs some spacing out there so he can work 1 on 1

Alton Akakpomartin

Not to make excuses for the guy, but playing JK with Buddy, Draymond, TJD & Pat Spencer is a funny way of easing him back into his offense.

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

bucks offense is so trash.. And dame needs to pass out the traps way earlier, I don't understand why he always hold the ball for so long

richard phan

There was that final defensive play from the dubs where everyone closed out on a string with 54 secs to go, ending with Dray closing out on Prince to force the tough miss. After that, you saw that Dray didn’t pump his fist or perform the night night, he just quietly clapped his hand together and walked away - that showed me more than anything how locked in he was last night

Pete Lee

Draymond masterclass

yan't get right

Jimmy is a WAY better passer than Steph or Dray. For sure.

e40

Kuminga was probably just in his head thinking he needed to play hero ball but in reality he didn’t

Alton Akakpomartin

Damn, what does Podz have to do to get some respect from Lopez?

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

This is an insane take

Dashaya Toney

When you get to the dagger and just let us relive that moment >>>>>>

gregory weisberg

With Steph, JK will play more within the flow. I think he felt like he needed to score with Steph out. Which he was probably told that.

Lucas

That upper stomach lower stomach line had me laughing hahaha

Nathan Glanzer

Glad we won - but we only won because of our defense - which is great - but I hope it holds. Our offense has looked anemic a lot of the time - especially these last 3 games. We have major lulls and scoring drouts every game that make it look like we have no idea how to get points at times. I don’t think that bodes well for us come playoff time - unless our defense holds like it did last night. Will be tough against teams like Boston and OKC

G 2tha P

Folks forget that Kuminga was averaging about 25 a game for about 15 games before his injury, hes fine all I see is 0 rhythm as to be expected. I was thinking last night there is all this talk about the Dubs "bad" drafting but we've hit with damn near all our draft picks the last 3 years, outside of Wiseman and TJD every one is or has shown the potential to be a key starting caliber player. Without our amazing drafting and development ie. Santos this team is nowhere near what they are

KuraiT

the thing you said about people wanting to be right more than they wanna win is so true. idk what it is with some fans but it's like they're note even rooting for the team. they just root for themselves. the podz/kerr/jk haters are all like that

bruhchillll

I’d love to hear Alch talk more about the intelligence he sees in Kuminga. I believe in it but I need a lil breakdown.

James Royer

I've been here almost a decade haha. Worth every penny.

Nathan Glanzer

Idk to me JK has th potential to become everything Jimmy is and then some.

Nathan Glanzer

From the worst loss to the best win. Let's go!

Nathan Glanzer

Podz has a good game against good team, very good sign. Himmy is just wonderful. JK can slow down and play with his rhythm more but he is going to be fine., as his defense seems much improved. Post is alright, but BP Dray seems to be a bit harsh on Post, I hope it help him instead of crushing him.

Natto Santo

Let’s say JK never looks great again this season. They still giving him the minimax? 30+? I think they should trade him. Doesn’t fit w Steph and won’t carry the team after. So great that Moody is clicking and getting run

Gary

I’m a new subscriber this season, just want to say it’s probably the best couple bucks I spend every month. Appreciate your humor and your command of the game; my favorite Warriors content hands down. Great win, really needed that one not only for the standings, but for confidence, establish that the Denver stinker was a fluke and not who they are. And that they have enough to win without Steph. Here’s to hoping Steph’s back gets right. A tight back effects EVERYTHING.

Special K

Felt like JK had it in his mind he wanted to try to draw a foul on a few of those lay attempts instead of going up with control - he’s likely to get the call regardless because of his athleticism and force I hope he recognizes that.

Mitch Coob

All the Podz haters ate crow last night. Ku has had a tough stretch but Im confident he’ll figure it out when it matters

Offtopic K

Totally agree about Kuminga Alch. The hate he's been getting lately is unbearable. It's like the fanbase just looks for whatever scapegoat they can find even when we win. I think Kuminga will figure it out

Andrew Lee

I’m going back to making small critiques, did not like the 1st quarter Post for GUI sub, not because of GUI but because Post was getting a nice look from 3 and he should have gotten more opportunities to see it early. What’s with Post never getting minutes with Kuminga? This needs to be a deliberate look here, they only roll out janky ass lineups with JK they don’t even play to his strengths either it’s not like they’re constructed around him. Even if Kuminga misses the relentless rim pressure wears at the defense, perfect for Post. Now if Jimmy could just tell JK to focus on MAKING THE SHOT. The motion offense need a break give Jimmy the ball and let him run screens for mismatches he clearly works better when he can use that at his leisure, same with JK honestly, isolate more of his minutes from the starters and surround him with the hustle guys and just mismatch hunt.

Sarcasm 360

Himmy Butler!

BruceWayne

Alch is possible to raise a players IQ and feel because with kuminga and even trayce to lesser degree I'm starting to think it's not possible

JSII

Let’s go!! Love the content alch
