When Steph is out, we have just two PG options.
Kerr seems to think we have four. He believes that the PG pecking order is Podz, GP2, Buddy, and...
Actually, I'm wrong. Kerr only thinks there are three.
After this debacle, can we stop having GP2 (by design) act as our PG, and can we institute a rule where Buddy is only allowed a single reposition dribble?
Kerr apparently hasn't met Pat Spencer .

Im not going to pretend that I know names off the top of my head. But when you look around the league and see how young all the coaches are of the top teams right now (OKC - 40 yo, Boston - 36yo) its clear there needs to be younger blood injected into this franchise at every level. With the exception of the Cavs who have Kenny Atkinson. Which is funny cuz we had him already as a defensive coach and look how that turned out for us.
Literally just need someone more in tuned with todays game. Kerr is out of touch. He ONLY knows Steph-ball. When Steph is out, we continue playing Steph-ball!!!!!!! How the fuck does anyone think that makes sense?
New perspective, new outlook, new vision, and just a different voice in the lockerroom could be all the difference.
But again, I know it wont happen. And Steph doesnt want any other coach. Its a dual edged sword. Steph is a great guy and only wants Kerr, which will keep him playing and engaged with the franchise. But Kerr is also one of the biggest reasons why this team has not improved a single bit since 2022.
Look at the celtics. They lost the finals in 2022. Fired their coach. Adopted a new identity, got better, and won the finals. And now theyre gunning for another title.
What have we done since 2022 to improve???? Lateral roster moves and ZERO play-style changes despite our core being older and slow.

That's because the Warriors bigs are no threat to score. If you look at both Schroder and Jerome what they excel at is messing with the big that's guarding the pick and roll and causing him to make a decison whether to guard the ballhandler or stay closer to the big that's rolling. They play and make their reads off that. But with the Warriors bigs, they can just focus on the ballhandler because the bigs are no threat.

10000% agree with everything you've said, but people will never see it that way because he asked for that money at the beginning of the season. And the craziest part is, there is still a smile on his face after everything he has gone through with this team. He is the most hated by the fan base, most rooted against, with the least grace given, and he still comes out, does what he's asked, which is never enough in Kerr and Bob Fitzgerald's eyes, and continues the good vibes with all his teammates. The only ones to have any type of faith in him are Steph and Draymond. But they put him in the box of, "run the floor hard and cut to apply rim pressure," when he can be so much more. He can be the best POA defender, but Kerr had him in Highsmith (probably misspelled lol) most the night. He could be the guy in the post of the split action who has to keep the defenders honest in the action, instead it's Looney who the defense has zero respect for. He could be the screen in a lot of these dho plays that have shooters peeling off so he can drag the defense, but instead he's hard pinned to the corner and the dunkers spot is occupied by Jimmy or GP2. He could be running off ball screens with shooters and slipping to the basket with Post pulling centers out to the perimeter, but he usually just swings the ball to the opposite wing and is told to run to the corner. He is usually the only one going for offensive boards other than Podz. He doesn't turn the ball over during in bound possessions. He is getting shooters open 3s when he attacks the rim. He is unstoppable in the open court. But no, we all want to focus on his handle, which has improved every season btw, and the fact that he can't shoot 3s...boohoo. all your 3 point shooters couldn't do shit last night.

Kerr fools himself in believing BP is the man to go to with Steph out because he shooting well etc. BP thrives off of being #2 or #3 not #1.

Anyone who blames JK for this either didn’t watch the game or is just biased. He barely got to play and was our leading scorer. He was the only defender who guys didn’t want to take on. Even Wiggs passed out when he had JK in front of him. And so of course he’s the one guy not giving up blow by drives at the POA.
And finally, he was getting guys good looks they just largely weren’t knocking them down.
This game was on Jimmy, Dray, and the rest of the starters for being dogshit. JK and the bench were the only reason we were even in this game at the end of the 3rd.

Sorry but no one else finds it interesting that since he joined Miami Wiggs has suddenly been a top tier scorer again?
It wasn’t just this game. I’ve been watching his games since the trade and straight out of the gates Wigs has been aggressive scoring almost every night.
To me, this is only further indictment on Kerr, Steph and Draymond.
Wigs was capable of it, we didn’t put him in positions to be successful but a few weeks with Spo and he’s back to being a 1st overall pick.

Another ? Is why did it take nearly 8 minutes to get JK into the game in the 3rd after his impact in the 1st half?
Finally anyone else notice how for some reason most of JKs touches seem to come with 6 on the clock in a “please save us JK” situation. It’s actually a testament to him that his %s are as good as they are considering how many tough, late clock buckets he is asked to get.
For some reason he’s been relegated to standing in the weak side corner while a whole action goes on on the other side of the floor.
The lack of recognition from not just Kerr but his teammates that the motion simply isn’t working against a switching defense and that what has been working is someone (mostly JK/Jimmy) beating someone off the dribble astounds me.
Ok rant over.
Brett Levenson
2025-03-26 21:09:58 +0000 UTC
Agree. Kerr ensured we couldn’t win this game when he went back to the starting group to start the 4th.
we can all see from our couches that the unit on the floor to end the 3rd should stay in and Kerr can’t see it from the sidelines. This is why we question his ability as a head coach.
And just to add some fuel here, that unit with Podz, Buddy and JK started making inroads when JK finally came into the game with 4:22 to go in the 3rd. In 4 minutes they had changed the momentum of the game but apparently Kerr had a bet on this game or something and couldn’t risk that momentum continuing.
When JK leaves I’m following wherever he goes and I can’t wait to watch Dubs nation cry about how we had him and lost him and Kerr’s an idiot etc etc when he finally has a coach who builds him up and tries to develop who he is, rather than some imaginary role he’s decided he should play.
Brett Levenson
2025-03-26 21:07:50 +0000 UTC
Agree completely and I’m the same with JK. Kid has literally played 1/4 of the minutes most of the lottery picks from his year have gotten. And somehow people expect him to develop in that environment.
To me this all thanks to Kerr. Playing 2-way guys instead of Moody and JK in a year we didn’t have much hope anyway. Maybe this is my bias, but I feel like you can see how much Kerr is in JKs head every time he’s on the floor.
To me, it’s no surprise at all that his best stretches these last 2 years have been when Kerr had no choice but to play JK and JK knew that. He’s a solid player when he’s not constantly trying to play basketball with a little voice in his head wondering if Kerr is gonna pull him for whatever he does next.
It’s obviously on JK to find a way to just play free and not worry about shit that is out of his control, but a great coach, in my opinion would recognize the raw ability he has, and recognize that he’s 22 and probably needs some help with his mental. And then do whatever he can to breathe confidence into him.
It’s the difference between “I don’t trust you, sit down” and “Hey, next time try doing X instead, but I know you can do this. Stay ready you’re going back in soon.”
And just BTW, where the f is Draymond in all of this. Before the injury, according to Dray JK is the future of the team. Suddenly Dray can’t find the time for JK. True colors shown.

Hey unc. I hope you are doing well. I was really hoping after todays game without steph JK could at least step up but I think he nees time to develop and just doesn't fit on this team. And I get it I shouldn't judge after one game I just don't think his IQ or knowledge of how to read defenses is there yet and won't be there for a while longer. The fluidity of the whole offense stops. I personally was kind of upset that we had to include the first round pick of the 2025 draft for jimmy but i understand to make the deal happen that that's what we needed to send. I bring up the 2025 pick because a player who I played with back in HS with is going to be in the draft. His name in Nique Clifford. He can handle the ball reallllly welll for his size and is an amazing passserrr. When he was younger he wasn't as tall as he is now but he was always a small kid and was always really good at those two things. Once his height came so did his ability to rebound really well and play muchhhh better defense. His scoring to me has always been secondary although in college basketball he's seen as a scorer. I was upset we had to give away the 2025 FRP because I wanted the warriors to draft him. not just because this is someone i've known forever but because I truly see him as the perfect fit on this team. Would you maybe be able to look at him (he played in the tournament so i'm sure he has some clips on youtube) or some other few prospects that you think would be good fits and give your thoughts. All im hoping for now is that we can include a package over the summer for jonathan kuminga and recieve a FRP from this years draft with some other assets maybe more draft capital but some solid role players (hopefully a center). Thanks Unc.

I don’t know what Kerr was doing in this one. The unit that closed the 3rd has finally given us some life in just 4:30 of action. And Kerr goes back to the starting group, that has been awful, to start the 4th.
Reminded me of Denver last year so much I was surprised we didn’t get another quote from JK like “I no longer trust Steve to help me grow in my career”.
Not saying that unit would have won the game. Just saying Kerr loves to talk about how the teams with a championship mindset have no ego and allow the coach to play whoever’s playing best and then he literally never plays the guys who are playing best. Such favoritism on display every night.

It may not be Kerr doesn’t like Kuminga. It could be that Kerr is so devoted to his holy “system,” he’s too narrow-minded when it comes to adapting it for a (young, developing) player like JK.
That’s why it’s so infuriating to hear him say, “We want Jimmy to do his thing, we have to adapt around him.” Like, f-ing really? You can envision that, but not a way for Kuminga to excel? They drafted the kid when Kerr was the coach. No excuse.

Kerr had it right: JK needs to be Stoudamire. Kuminga’s handle is bad. Straight up. Wiggins has the wing spread to just rise up or extend or have the bunny hook. JK doesn’t have go to moves. He just dribbles hard and tries to punch.

I just don’t see how this team is better than before. We have a smaller roster so Kerr can’t do as much fuckery, but this team has all the same problems. We have no offense without steph.
When Steph comes back, we have an easy to defend offense our 3 best guys and half the bench just hunt Steph offball instead of Scoring.
Dray need to come off the bench as a 4. It would help a lot. Or head to the bench early. Jimmy and Draymond don’t both need to start if Jimmy is playing point forward.

There's a unique blend of vets and youth that will most likely lead to an playoff exit earlier than later. Will be important to see whom among the youth steps up and who doesn't. To me, it screams from Kerr, "see look, I put him in, so get off my back about it." Maybe I'm just delusional, but that's the vibe I'm getting. But we can't expect him to make better reads on this new look team when his minutes continue to diminish and he continues to be placed in the deep corner with no involvement in complex plays. The only plays he gets are flat screens to drive into traffic with non shooters in the corners, and dunker spot lobs being run by Jimmy who is an absolute zero threat to score cause all he wants to do is pass so they can't lob it.

Everyone is going to be SOOOO quick to blame JK for this game too, when in reality, it was his group with Podz and Post, and then with Buddy that had any life yesterday. It was his group that cut the lead to 8. And the starters, with the grand ol' Himmy Butler....was hot ass! They sucked and Jimmy is starting to remind me a lot of Ben Simmons. The man is allergic to shooting the ball. I mean, at least Kuminga will try and miss, Jimmy is becoming so predictable. Part of being a good playmaker at SG or SF is that you are also a threat to score. Nobody is scared of this man, so he just gives off all these grenades to role players with 5 seconds on the shit clock. And then the game ends and her has 25 of free throws and everyone is like, see, it's Jimmy Buckets. That's CAP! I'm starting to get fed up with this and once again, JK is going to be the scapegoat. Watch, his minutes were cut in back to back games. By the time playoffs arrive, he's going to be playing 15 minutes or fewer as Moddy continues to build brick houses and Jimmy continues to live on the free throw line and claim superstardom. Like how are we going to say JK was the problem when he outscored everyone off the bench with limited minutes?!?!?! That literally makes ZERO SENSE!

Man Kerr is really doing everything to screw JK over man, if you want JK to be more aggressive and be the 3rd option then put the ball in his hands. For a lot of this game, they were running the game through Podz and Gui in the non Butler minutes and JK would be standing on the corner watching as they waste possessions and loose transition points. When JK attacks he will lose some balls and miss some shots but he will also make a good number of them and get to the line. When he gets to the line its good for defence cos it stops the ball. JK also plays well defensively when he's engaged like most players. When players are involved in offence they play better defence. People hop on all the mistakes JK makes as if there is any player who doesn't make mistakes. Take Jordan Poole for example, he was atrocious on defense but was a good scorer. So he played and provided scoring for team. He wasn't a good passer, he was bad on defense, he shot average from 3 (about 35%),high turnover guy, yet his scoring helped us get to a championship. I would argue JK is a batter defender, rebounder, scorer and passer than Poole. Check his per minute numbers. Yet Kerr just has an issue with him. JK is the perfect role player to give this team a much needed scoring punch yet Kerr just doesn't like the guy for some reason

Kerr has eliminated the mismatch hunting element Jimmy brought in? Yep. Easy passes over the top to bigger opponents? Yep. I’m just being salty at this point because these problems never left since start of season they just took a pause, but it’s Kumingas fault tho somehow. Draymond coming off that corner with 7 seconds left in the 3rd giving up a CORNER THREE is going to make me say very bad things.

Wasn't able to watch, but I saw the score at 80-70 Heat near the end of the 3rd quarter thinking, "Okay they'll just grind their way back into the game." I was shocked to see the final score but after watching the breakdown and knowing the circumstances, a Heat win just felt inevitable.
Also looking forward to the Armstrong and Key scouting reports. They've been quietly playing well for Santa Cruz since they both arrived.

Just a hilariously unserious team whenever they absolutely need to be serious.

The new CBA effectively locks the team out of doing a sign and trade. The choices are let JK walk or sign him and defer any decision until next offseason. There are currently 9 guys under contract and only $25M in cap space for 5 guys if the team is hard-capped by doing a sign and trade. Signing Jimmy committed the team to above the first apron, unless they decide to blow it up.

When the announcer (I think Reggie) said that Wiggins never had a role to be aggressive and score with the warriors, I knew he didn’t know what he was talking about and was making up BS, crazy cause if I wasn’t a warriors fan watching the games for years I prolly would’ve just believed him too lmao

At this current state, Jimmy Butler is an AMAZING 3rd option. Not so much as a 2nd option….
And if Kuminga doesn’t show he’s a viable 2nd option, we should expect him to be signed-traded in the offseason

We are so top heavyy. If Jimmy and Steph aren't on the floor together, our chances of winning literally goes down the gutter.
I also think there was a letdown factor with the team last night. They find out Steph is flying into Miami expecting him to suit up only to be scratched late.

Lol Steph or no Steph, they werent winning this game. We knew that a week ago.
Here's my biggest issue. This 15 game stretch with Jimmy has masked the ONE thing that has remained constant: Kerr still needs to be fired at the end of this season.
I know it WONT happen, because Steph would never allow it. But lets be real. Without Steph, Kerr has not the FIRST FUCKING CLUE on how to coach modern 2025 basketball. Even with Steph, he often displays his ignorance and arrogance. I know it wont happen, but god it needs to.
Whats there to even say about this game? "We need a real scoring threat" ..... "We still lack size" ..... "Our bench guys still suck" ...
Quite literally nothing has changed about this roster other than Jimmy being added. Did we think that suddenly they'd all become championship level players?
Moody, Gp2, and Post all have been on a great 10-15 game stretch. Podz has looked good since coming back. But what have I said in basically every comment since the Jimmy trade?
Can they keep this run of form up??? I was nervous they were burning through all their "good luck" right now, and wouldnt have anything to show in the playoffs, and it looks like that still rings true.
Since acquiring Jimmy, we basically are repeating the beginning of the season. Stephs now out. and when he returns, we're all supposed to immediately go back to fighting for the 3 seed?
Nah man. Games like this show us who this team STILL is and has been since the end of 2022. Without Steph, there is supposed to be a level of urgency and desperation to continue winning or at least PLAYING HARD without him.

Is Kerr being serious with this lineup? If they got blown off the floor first five minutes I was not taking notes. Has jimmy gotten minutes at the 4 recently? This shot clock shit was happening at the BEGINNING of the season when curry was missing time, that’s a very obvious coaching issue but nah Kuminga must be stagnating the offense from the bench somehow.

Ware was one of the more impressive athletes I’ve seen play irl in a bit pretty good hands for his size also

The starting lineup didn’t help. Starting small against size is ridiculous.

Was at the game last night it looked like the warriors/jimmy just wanted the night to be over with but it looked like the heat wanted it to keep going and on top of that everytime jimmy touched the ball the crowd was letting him have it
